Hey,
i flashed the I9000XWJG5 Firmware and now i do not get 3g to work. I used an o2 UK Sim and do net get a data connection (before it was always 3g) and no 3g connection with orange too, just gprs.
Has anyone an idea, what i can do?
--- update ---
also only o2 uk sim is edge where before was 3g.
Made a test with my htc hero (Villainrom 12), same place, same sim card and i got 3g.
and 'only 2g' is NOT activated on the samsung galaxy s
You need to configure your mobile operators' APNs.
it is configured properly. so settings are correct. i am not the only one with the problem. i read it on various threads but couldnt find a post with the solution so far.

You're holding it... wait, no, just manually re-enter the APN settings, because flashing firmware will wipe them out. also try factory reset, if that won't help.
3g will popup immediately when you have put in the correct APN settings. Trust me.

As i said with an htc hero, same settings, it works, with the samsung galaxy it doesnt. so i can assume that the settings are correct
htc hero = 3g
samsung galaxy s = 2g
Could it be you are roaming (you see an R with the reception bars). By default it will not use 3G when roaming. You can turn it on in settings. I have a Dutch Telfort sim and KPN took over Telfort. So i am on the KPN network now and my phone always thinks i am roaming.

Pay as you go or contract? Have you checked the APN entries as they differ on O2.

payasyougo and i changed the the user to payandgo.o2.co.uk also user to payandgo.
works fine in htc hero with 3g, not on samsung galaxy, just 2g
Flashed another Code(CODE_I9000XWJFF) and radio(MODEM_I9000XXJF8.tar) and 3g worked again.
then tried just flash the code (CODE_I9000XWJG5) and it still works. so i guess the radio (MODEM_I9000XXJG1) does not work for my samsung galaxy s properly
when i look now in the settings of 'about phone' i see
baseband version I9000XXJF8 and
Build Number ECLAIR.XWJG5
Does anyone think i will have a problem with that combination?
OK folks, so here is the story, concise and to the point.
1. Bought new LG Optimus 2X (white edition) from eBay, locked to Spanish network
2. Unlocked phone to accept a T-Mobile SIM card using code purchased from internet
3. Phoned worked OK, except for Google Navigation (GN). Using GPS Test app, I could 'see' 5 - 8 satellites and eventually it did lock to 2 - 4 of those, but immediately thereafter when I launched GN, the phone did nothing and just sat there thinking and 'searching'...
4. To fix the above, I tried a hard factory reset. This made things worse as now I don't even have an internet connection. Whether it is Google Play or a browser, it simply says "no connection" (although it works OK if wi-fi enabled)
My WIRELESS & NETWORKS settings look like this:
Data enabled - checked
Data roaming - unchecked
Network mode - GSM / WCDMA (auto mode)
Network operators --> Search networks --> do I ask it to select a network automatically or shall I select T-Mobile UMTS or T-Mobile GSM?
Any idea what else could be wrong / I am missing? Internet, Google Play and Gmail did work, but they no longer do after I hard reset. I am sure I have an incorrect configuration, maybe the phone by default is trying to get to the net via the Spanish carrier it was originally locked to?

first try to get flash to the Stock ROM through Smartflash method....or check for Homero's work in the Developer's section and you will get root access, custom ROM and CWM (which is the most important for flashing ROMs, Kernels etc)....and then check for the Baseband.
First I would suggest that you need to flash the STOCK ROM through Smartflash method....please follow HOMERO's thread and instructions....will let you know the following things later....else you might end up confused
Thanks
A1rforceOne m8 have u tried checking the APN.May be due to hard reset u might have erased you network provider APN settings.Just check it.
Hi. I live in Europe, I was jealous of you guys, so I ordered Moto on ebay. To save some cash, I ordered locked AT&T version. Everything went great, I was able to unlock the phone, it accepted the sim card, I can make calls and send SMS. So far, so good.
Then I turned on mobile data. And...nothing happend.
To clarify: Using the same sim card, I was able to use mobile data on good old Samsung i9000, so the data is activated. It's there and should work.
So I started looking around in settings, tried turning on the data roaming and looked into the "about phone" section.
Here's what it says:
Mobile Network Type: EDGE
Service state: In service
Roaming: Not roaming
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
Is there something I need to do to "force" the connection, or should I rather discuss this with my mobile network provider?
Thanks for any help
P.S. I tried the usual stuff like reboot and eject sim and put it back, I even switched from ART back to Dalvik, The phone is running latest avaliable KitKat and is not rooted.

You didn't mention whether you checked the APN settings. My guess is that because you purchased a locked AT&T device and then unlocked it, you don't have an APN setup for your European provider. APN will be in Settings -> More -> Mobile Networks ->Access Point Names. If you go in there and either there is nothing listed or it's not the APN your mobile provider recommends, you will need to manually create the proper APN. I'm sure a quick Google Search for your provider's APN settings on Android will get you the answer.

I knew I was missing something important "Copied" the APN settings from old phone and it worked like charm. Thanks a lot
Interesting thing is that on that old Samsung, I tried new ROM every month or so and never had this problem. The phone just "knew" what to do. Guess these are the perks of unlocked devices, right?

Glad that worked. Correct, Custom ROM's often self-provision based on a database of Carrier/APN's.

Unfortunately, there is no way to rollback to older versions from ZVB.
For data to get working, you will probably need root access to reset the APN from APN settings. Sadly no root yet for MM, i believe.
See if you can access IotHiddenMenuMain in any way. It usually doesnt require root. If success, go to APN settings and reset to default APN.
Start with the shortcut master app.
Best of luck.

Its normal if you're out of USA, the ZVB update screwup all unlocked sprint LG G4 phones. The only solution is flash this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g4/development/rom-mellowmallow-debloated-60fps-camera-t3358340
After you flash Mellowmallow rom, you have to do a factory reset to acceso a gsm network, use the global version.
How Can I Flash it as above "evilboygenius" Said that I can't root my g4 or ZVB? Can you please guide the process or refer to any thread where it is explained?
Many Thanks

I have purchased the same sprint LG G4 (LS991ZVB) and updated it to latest Marshmallow 6.0 including other mini security updates too. I was having the same problem. After selecting the LTE or CDMA losing the signal.
Here is the solution:
1. If you lost the signal after pressing the LTE/CDMA or CDMA
Go to settings>General>Backup&reset>Network setting reset.
you will have your signal back
2. You can use 3G internet services of any network. just need to fill the APN setting manually.
Go to settings>Network>Mobile data>Mobile Networks>Access point Name
Now add APN (only interent settings. ignore the mms or gprs settings)
Here is the link of all Pakistani networks APN settings.
As i am a new user. I am not allowed to give outside link. However I have sent you link for APN & my contact number in private message.
Now you can use 3G internet. :good:
hi
i got the phone from korea, the problem is when connecting to 4G the phone would lose internet and calls then lose the network, i get a message saying "failed to register to network (15)" but if i forced the phone to connect to 3G then it works fine. here's what i tried to fix the problem :
turning off the mobile network then turning it on
resetting the network settings
removing NR Whitelist
and none of them fixed the issue. there's a korean menu in the service mode, but i didn't miss with it. i have attached screen shots of the software information and the korean menu in the service menu.
Who provides your service? Have you tried going into network settings and APN and see what that says
If it is a Korean phone and you aren't in Korea and it is locked into the network then you won't be able to get service somewhere else I don't think
