Completely wipe Note5 - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know with the S6 all we had to do was Odin the stock firmware but for whatever reason it doesn't work on the note. Anyone know a work around?

What does not work when you use Odin to flash stock?

It just flashes the stock firmware leaving all of the media and all of the same settings.

I noticed my Note 4 did that as well. I do not know what has changed. I guess you just have to clear cache and data in recovery first.

Do a factory reset first? Flashing in Odin keeps settings as it allows upgrades?

Unroot my GT-I9000

Can you help me find a way to unroot my device ?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
i believe it depends on the method you used to root it in the first place. If you use SOC (super one click) then the same app can be used to un-root. If you flashed a rooted kernel, then I think all that is needed is you to flash back a stock kernel.

easiest way is to flash a stock firmware, appropriate to your region, then root will dissappear and you are ready to take it in to samsung without worry

Download a stock version here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
But be carefull if you rooted you device and activated EXT4 on it, restoring a Stock ROM will fail. First make sure you don't use EXTx and convert back to RFS.

I've never experience such a 'fail'. Be it EXT4 or RFS, you can easily odin back to a stock firmware. No problems at all. Odin will format and create the default RFS partitions back.
can someone help me unroot my galaxy s i500 from verizon? i tried to root it with odin and i guess i downloaded the files for the gt-i9000 and i ran everything and it passedm, when my phone rebooted it went straight to recovery mode and now i cant click on any of the options i can only scroll down with the volume down button, ive tried pressing all the buttons to see which one is "enter" and nothing works. heeeeellllpppppp!!!!!

Firmware for N900a?

I think I deleted something through root manager, but the just of it, is I need to re-install the firmware. I tried to go through Kies but it can detect my device for some reason. I think I deleted the Kies through root manager as well so it might be the issue.
Does anyone have the .tar file for this so I could flash via Odin? Just want to go back to new outta the box. Oh, I also tried factory reset through settings and also in recovery. Doesn't restore the files I'm missing.
Maybe I'm making this harder than it is and just need a few missing files I deleted by mistake. The only issues Im having is everytime I restart my phone I have to reset my live wallpaper and reset Swiftkey as my default keyboard. Maybe there is a fix for that and then I wont have to worry about the firmware?
There is no tar as of yet. And if you did the OTA to MJ5 you cant use the one click through De la Vega

Right now it is impossible to flash firmware of any kind to a 900A. The bootloader is locked and until somebody figures out a way to unlock it, it is impossible to flash any ROM/Firmware to this device.
I am rooted on the Root De La Vega so I must be on the correct firmware.

If you can open your build.prop in /system it will tell you the firmware version at the top.

It appears that you can just flash the MI9 firmware since you aren't running MJ5. Can someone verify this? That would save you from having to go through all of the apks.
All you would need to do is flash the Oneclick from this thread.

I believe you have to skip the BL file, as in do not flash the BL file. Plug all your files but the bl file and flash them. Because of the bootloader being loacked, it seems it will failed because it can't actually flash the file. Here is a great thread to get you started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785363
Good luck. Report is it works.

The phone is not totally bricked. The correct firmware needs to be re-flashed, as what's been said. You used the wrong one, as well as the wrong Odin. You should be using Odin 3.09.

Am I covered under warranty?

I've tried everything in my power to fix my phone and nothing is working. I have unrooted and wiped my phone to the best of my ability.
This is my about phone
This is my download mode
Given this, would I be still covered under my warranty

Not clear what you have done; would help us here to know what steps you've taken then everyone here may have other suggestions. If it's software related and just requires the appropriate flash you might be able to take it to one of the samsung experience centers in Best Buy or you can try their new hangouts support offering and see what they say.
Or just Odin back to NCE. Just leave out the bootloader file or it will fail.

Have you tried to ODIN back to stock? I would start there.
Or use Kies to do a recovery. Either should fix the issue.

Did you happen to do a backup in TWRP before this happened? If so restore it as it defaults to save your EFS folder which hopefully will fix your problem. If not, also try doing an Emergency recovery in KIES, some have said that worked as well. Another way that some have said it worked would be to ODIN back to KK and then upgrade to Lollipop. Just some more things to try.

Sent you a PM with a link to look at.
Also try searching this site for EFS as that is where the IMEI is stored.
Anybody willing to help me with my imei ? Please. I would be so grateful. Thanks.

Did you guys try flashing just the modem.bin? Extract modem.bin from stock firmware then flash it via Odin.
