Hello,
Could you please suggest a good Screen Protector Film or my Nexus6 ? I don't want a Tempered Glass. I need the Proximity Sensor and Camera to be working after installing the Screen Protector.
Thanks.
I'm using a Mr shield that I found on amazon for 6 bucks. Normally I would use a tempered glass screen protector, but after 3 failed attempts I gave up on finding one that fits without the "halo"around the screen.

You know many of the tempered glass ones have cut outs for these sensors now? If that is the only reason stopping you using one.

The only reason stopping me using Tempered Glass is halo-ing effect. I would like to have cut outs for Proximity and Camera in a Film Protector instead. But not able to find one.
Thanks.

I found one but I wouldn't recommend it. You don't really need cut outs on film ones though. In fact on my Nexus 5 I had tempered glass without cut outs and everything worked fine., though apparently Nexus 6 this isnt quite the case.
Everything is working on mine (only put it on 3 days ago). The other screen protector you can get that has cutouts is Xtreme guard. Dirt cheap and a decent product.

If that is the case, then I think I will go ahead and purchase the one with out cutouts. I was looking at this. The Mr Shield also seems to be good.
I have found this one has appropriate cut outs, but it is a Wet Application Film. So I'm doubtful if it will damage my phone.

As long as you don't use too much water, it will be fine. I've seen people filming videos under water in the bathtub with a nexus 6. It is not rated for underwater use (and would not recommend you use it underwater either) but a few splashes on the screen isn't going to cause an issue.
Also the armorsuit if too costly for me. So if you are saying that the cut outs are not necessary for film protectors then I'm planning to order the Spigen shown above. It is lesser price with good quality.

I'm saying they shouldn't be necessary. That said, some parts of the N6 are really crappy, so I cannot say for sure.

No. Components. Proximity sensor is crappy for example.
I got the hard plastic film direct from Motorola. The fit is quite nice, despite them being one of the more costly options out there.

You really spent $15 for a plastic screen protector? There are high quality plastic protectors than can be had for 1/12th the price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/6X-Supershi...884973?hash=item2ed8911f2d:g:MxsAAOSwEppUSqmb
Maybe you should hang out with the guy who spent $40 on a Spigen Slim Armor case. (can be had for $12 on ebay)
I've had the same Skinomi film on my shamu since I received it last December. The fact that it's a wet application turns some off to it, but I've had no problems. I have one preordered for my 6p as well.
Yes, I avoid eBay if I can, and would rather spend a little more for it and know who I'm dealing with and the quality of the product. The added cost is well worth the piece of mind. Also the fact that with my OG Moto X, the protectors from Motorola had the best fit and finish by far of the protectors I tried.

I suggest eBay. Got mine, an XtremeGuard protector which is a vinyl type protector (from user xtreme_guard). First one I got was damaged during shipping, too much weight was put onto the envelope containing it and it got marked by the application tool and he sent me another one free of charge. Best protector I ever bought and definitely a good ebay experience.

Lol I used to use a screen protector then I took it off because the two end wouldn't fit properly since the nexus has a curved screen but so far no scratches I actually had scratches on my screen protector :banghead:

I've had my phone for over a year...and I'm rough on it. It's always in my pocket everywhere I go, and I work at construction sites at least two days a week. After 14 months of owning it I have only gotten one tiny, barely noticeable scratch on the screen.
Don't waste your money...screen protectors aren't necessary with gorilla glass

Have faith. There are no scratches. Gorilla glass isn't the only sturdy/scratch-resistant glass in the world.

I was under the same impression when I bought the phone too.
Gorilla glass or not though, the biggest screen scratcher isn't rusty nails or whatever gimmicky thing they show you in the phone screen protector ads but rather pocket sand. Any sand you have in your pockets will DESTROY the phone over time. I've seen some phones become completely hazy, including ones equipped with Gorilla glass from people working more physical jobs.
Mine has a protector, but it's for the OCD rather than anything else. As long as you put your phone in a pocket of it's own, empty of any debris, and you don't rub it face first on a table, it should be fine.
I was wondering what you guys thought of the tempered glass screen protectors I have been using one since I purchased my phone and I like it but I bought a cheapie one on eBay (nothing wrong with eBay I'm just saying even for eBay it was a cheap one) and its not sticking on the edge. I paid a little more for my wife's GlasT on her IPhone 5S and its perfect. So basically I wanted know if you guys think something out there is better than the tempered glass screen protectors before I dish out the money on a better one. Or is anyone else using a tempered glass protector having the same problem with it not sealing all the way to the edge. A buddy of mine has an G2 as well of a different brand and hes said the same thing happened to his. It doesn't look terrible just a small area all the way around the screen where it's not making contact.

If you buy a decent screen protector you shouldn't have any problems. Just search Amazon for LG G2 protectors

UPDATE: I still have not experienced any edge-lifting. Note though, that i did NOT use the cleansing pad that they provided. I simply used alcohol and a cotton ball, no finger prints after cleaning whatsoever, then used the pink sticky film to remove all small particles from the cotton ball and any dust not seen by the nake eye.
But i will say though that the finger print resistance is almost non existant now. It really makes me appreciate how the stock glass is just that sweet. But all said and done, im satisfied to an extent.. if something comes out that is unanimously better than ill change.

As with any phone, this is a pretty hot topic and I expect no less from this phone.
Please share your experiences with tempered glass screen protectors in this thread so they do not clutter the forum.
Coming from the Nexus 6, tempered glass screen protectors were a nightmare . the curved screen made them have a halo effect and caused proximity sensor issues. I'm hoping this phone is not going to be the same.
Personally I just ordered the Spigen glass.tr slim for my phone.. It can be found for 9.99 + free shipping on amazon currently. I will be reporting back with my review once I receive it and my phone.
I've had bad luck with the tempered glass protectors. On both my Nexus 5 and my Nikon DSLR, I've had the tempered glass break - no damage to the screens themselves, just broken screen protectors. No thanks.
I'd say they did their job then ... Seems they protected your phone from breakinh

Yeah, lots of folks like them, I've just had bad luck. One on a DSLR, one on a phone, both from reputable manufacturers, and a couple years apart. Neither lasted two months, and I do baby my gear. Weird.
I've had a tempered glass protector on my Galaxy S5 and have had to replace it once do to a crack straight across due to a fall. And yes, the actual screen is perfectly fine. I already received my Spigen tempered glass protector in the mail.

They can get scratched I promise, anything with quartz in it like sand, dirt etc will scratch it. I like the Spigen one because they are generally good for the price
My laid my spigen on top of my Cruzerlite bugdroid case to get an idea of coverage and it appears as though the screen protector goes edge to edge..leaving just barely enough room for a lip on a case

Hi there!
I need simple plastic film, clear screen protector, similar to what is installed on new OnePlus 3 out of the box, but this one don't cover edges of the LED, leaving about 2mm exposed from both sides.
Kindly someone give me names or links of full screen protector which is not hard glass, but soft regular screen protector which cover complete screen
Or any other Phones screen protect which can cover OnePlus 3, may be of galaxy S7 Edge
Why i need simple screen protector:
- Its thinner
- Its not noticeable, you don't feel if its there
- Prevents scratches
- Don't make device thicker, by putting extra thick layer
- Can access home button/finger print reader easily, without digging your thumb in
Why i hate Glass Screen protectors
- Thicker, makes phone fatter
- Untidy, makes phone bulky
- buries home button further inside
- At times, i have seen they can damage the screen as well

protector that comes preinstalled on OnePlus 3 seem to be of a very nice quality to me, issue is that, its short, i feel they could extend it little more to sides, just before it curves down, they made it short intentionally to make people buy there full screen or other temper glass screen protectors.
May be i should try to take screen protector of some other phone, like that of Samsung and try to cut it as per OP3.
May be i can extend it to black bars where the screen ends.
I decided to try the Orzly tempered glass. Normally I'm a huge fan of the Spigen Crystal and Ultra Crystal plastic ones - still almost no noticeable marking on the Crystal I have on my LG G4, and the Ultra Crystal on my wife's Nexus 5 literally saved us a screen replacement last winter. I thought the screen HAD broken, down to ordering a replacement to put in it ... but when I peeled the Spigen off, the screen was fine. They don't have one for the OP3 yet though. So this time I thought I'd try something different with the tempered glass. If I don't like it, I'll have to keep looking.
Interested in seeing if there are any good plastic screen protector recommendations though, in case I find that I'm not a fan of the glass ones.
Best non-glass screen protector.

Its of good quality, they could cover sides bit more, as curve starts from where black line starts, i guess the made it short for people to buy their accessories and remove it, probably.

They look tempting, but i am not sure how they will even cover the curves, i heard they come off from edges, it would have been better if they had left the curves exposed, just cover the complete LED, just up to the point where LED starts.
Hopefully it will give surprising results.

I just received an IQ Shield Matte screen protector and I'm really disappointed. It screws up the colors and whites have a rainbow effect to them. I took it off and now I'm looking for a new one. I'd like one that is:
1. Anti-glare
2. Anti-fingerprint
3. Clear and doesn't screw with this beautiful display.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
Thee one and only,,,,but more importantly expensive whitestone dome screen protector is probably the most I've heard of working...45 to 50 dollars tho
Any you can recommend about $20 and under?
First I tried the Spigen NeoFlex film screen protectors and they are garbage. Then I ordered a cheapo full cover tempered glass screen protector from eBay and it works great.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3D-Full-Cov...ector-For-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-8-/332345555824
I've only been using it for about a week so I can't say how well it will keep dust out. Sensitivity is great, I don't notice it's on at all. It's not Anti-glare or Anti-fingerprint but it's only $8.
I'm using the i-blason tempered glass.
Under $20, it's still on, doesn't interfere with the screen.
It's still going to collect fingerprints and smudges due to the oils in our skin, but it wipes off easily.

There are plenty of discussions under the accessories section
But I'd say don't bother. I had one tempered glass protector on for an hour before it annoyed me too much and I removed it! Destroys the feel and use of the phone.
I have been buying the RhinoShield stuff for my stuff and its held up really well for me.
rhinoshield.io is where you'll find it.. (I havn't logged in long enough that I forgot my account info :/ )
edit: found my login info so now I can add the link:
https://rhinoshield.io/collections/samsung-galaxy-note-8
Plus, nobody else's stuff has any evidence that even suggests it actually works.
I havn't tried it for the note8 but I came by this thread while I was researching if anyone had so figure I'd mention it. It is expensive to get the whole kit (screen protector, bumper, and in this case rear glass protector), but I found it worth it..
I have a cheapo '2.5D' glass and its doing well. Touch response is worse mind.
There is a speaker hole at the top; this needs covering with a bit of tape or you wil get dust between the screen and the protector.

I purchased a relatively inexpensive TG protector. While it exhibits many of the drawbacks of TG protectors that aren't full-adhesive (i.e. all of them except the Whitestone Dome), it doesn't have quite the "rainbow effect" that I've seen with other protectors.
Its real downside, though, is its slickness ... I need a more paper-like surface to better control the s-pen. Just the tiniest bit of friction would help. I'm thinking that I may have to go to a film protector rather than TG to get that, though. Does anyone else have this issue with TG protectors?

Ever since the introduction of the edge curved screen (and I have owned the lot) I have never found a decent screen saver. It is a subject on every forum here on XDA and concerning all the Samsung edge models.
I have taken recommendations only to find them useless. Some use a glue, some have a dotted appearance after application some just suck period!
I used a partial screen saver once that just covered the centre of the screen but even that proved awful. Even used Samsungs own on the Note 7 and though that was not glass it also was horrible.
If any peer here does find a working screen protector PLEASE let us know.

Went on easily, hasn't peeled off the corners/edge (and I use the Spigen Tough Armor case) and after the 12 hours to settle on the screen it looks great and writing on it with the s-pen feels good too. My personal opinion and the only one I've tried so far on my Note 8

Can the Whiitestone be removed once it's been glued to the Screen?
yes
I got the Bodyguardz glass protector sold to me at the AT&T store (lazy me). The guy installed it and it's ok. Glass protectors have an innate problem in that they sometimes don't transmit touches to the touchscreen itself. This one is no different but it does fit well. And it has a lifetime free replacement policy. I'll keep it to protect my screen.
