Hello,so I installed the Google Play Edition+ ROM, didn't get any problems at the installation and everything went smooth. After using the phone for a while (1 hour) I am getting prompted with a message for an update(Android L upgrade for user/release-keys). So I accept the update to be installed and after 10 seconds the phone restarts and boots into recovery running OpenRecoveryScript that stopped after
HTML:
MD5 check file : no file found L50QCT.00.001.002
.After waiting 10-15 minutest I get Error which says that Installation failed , after rebooting the phone it freezes at Google logo loading. Any advice, help will be appreciated.

Did you read Gpe+ thread?Advice?wipe all and clean flash rom again, and don't update next time..Official htc updates don't work on custom rom's,with root, with custom recovery.Updates work on everything stock.

Yeah I've read the GPE+ thread and did everything there. So is there a way that I can remove the notification from the top menu, I have tried everything and its still on the drop down menu.

Sorry,I don't know how,I'm on latest "stock" 5.1 rom from that same thread,I don't have problem with that. But I remember that there were few posts and discussion in the thread about gpe+ update and notification,at the time when official update came out, search there or question there how to move notification.

Updating with out rooting????????

Hi guys
I was wondering if there is a way to update my phone with out rooting..
I am not to keen on rooting and trying to flush a cooked rom..
i am looking for the latest vision of android as i am running 1.1 at the moment and it has no market
thanx for all the help
if you're doing an official rom, then yes, you can. search the interwebs for an official 1.5 link, and also grab the market activator program from google's code base. once you download the official 1.5 rom, rename it update.zip, put it on your sd card and reboot into recovery mode (home+power when the phone is off). when the triangle and disk screen comes up, push alt+s on the keyboard to apply the update. after its done, your phone will reboot. you will then be running "cupcake", which is 1.5.
after that, if your market still isnt working, install the activator and run it. your phone will reboot when its done and the market will be working.

You saw a progress bar. Did it act like it was loading? Did it give you any message afterwards? Did it reboot a couple times or anything?

E:No signature(413 files)
E:verification aborted
what does this mean please help me
you probably downloaded an "unsigned" update somewhere, hence the no signature. make sure your update is signed.
You are trying to install the official cupcake rom from t mobile right? Are you sure you grabbed the official one.
i had the same trouble when i did mine. for me tho it was that i named the file update zip. but then i saw if i just named it update the ".zip" was put there automatically. i just named it update and put it in the 1st postion in my sd card and it worked. good luck.

[Q] Problems updating to JH7

background info: I installed the froyo that was leaked a few months ago. it wasnt stable so I went back to JH6. The problems started when i tried to update OTA to JH7.
Issue: so i've tried this many times. first, i go to settings, software update, then i select "check for update". it goes through the communication process then i downloaded some file. then the phone tells me it needs to be rebooted, so i let it reboot. as it reboots a white screen pops out and a status bar that reads "installing" reaches 50% then it says that the installation failed. the phone reboots and when the phone gets to the home screen a message comes on that says the "update was not applied".
could anyone help me with this? it happens everytime. ive master cleared, flashed over and over with odin. it doesnt work. plus my gps and google nav doesnt work. it continuously reads "searching gps". please help. thanks.
Use search, look for Kies Mini.
Sent from my Craptivate with the leaky rom
ive tried that too. when i plug in my phone Kies force closes on my computer...i followed every step on the website suggested by the att folks and still didnt work.
There is a stock jh7 zip you can apply in recovery in development forum.

[Q] Updated ViperROM from 1.0.4 to 1.1 and now I'm boot looping.

So I've been using GOO manager and was loving it except it kept telling me to update Viper rom to 1.1 which I agreed to. After about 4 tries it kept telling me the md5 didn't match so I downloaded the file to my laptop and copied it over. I installed it from GOO using the "Zip file from somewhere else option" and the flash seemed to work until the first boot.
Now it's fully booting, i can unlock the screen in time for it to tell me htc.bgp has stopped responding and then it just powers down and reboots. I unchecked fast boot, but it really looks like it's doing the power fast boot as i don't see the usual startup logos.
Any ideas on next steps?

You can't do a dirty flash between these version. I did the same thing, my phone got stuck couldn't shut it off for 2+ hours had to wait for the bat to die. I don't think it should update you that there is an update when in fact it's not an update at all. It's still my fault for doing a dirty flash but it needs to be a clean install. Full wipe, reinstall & you will be good.

[Q] I think I fugged up my phone.

Here goes nothing. I have an HTC One m7 unlocked and rooted. Im not sure what happened but I know when it happened. I was trying to install viperone 6.2.1 and it failed and the installer suggested flasing the latest TWRP and try again. I hit ok and my phone rebooted straight to the bootloader. I tried a reboot- straight to bootloader. I tried to go into recovery- straight to bootloader. I tried factory reset- straight to bootloader. I only had access to the bootloader. I eventually found Hasoon2000s All One Tool and flashed a recovery. Made sure I had the latest TWRP and tried viperone again. It installed correctly and I rebooted. Once it loads all I get is a lock screen that I can unlock then a white screen that says htc. It will then force restart and the same thing happens again. Next I tried Paranoid Android. It loads fully but will force restart after a few minutes. I quickly looked at my phone status inbetween restarts and everything network, mobile network type, service state, imei, imei sv are all unknown. Basically no service. Next I flashed the latest CWM recovery. I installed the latest MIUI rom. It installed and during set-up it tried looking for my SIM card and force restarts. It will re-boot and go right back to searching for the SIM card. Rinse and repeat. Next I downloaded CM11 and installed that. Thankfully that does not force restart at all but my phone status is still all unknown. So I go into networks and try mobile plan and it asks for my SIM card which is installed. Then I try mobile network settings/ network operators look for available networks and I get "error while searching for networks". I forgot to mention all the Roms had to be pushed through with adb. Does anyone have a clue as to what I might have done or how I can fix it?
Try flashing a Stock RUU

Try flashing a stock RUU, everything should work fine after wards. You could try to update later on.
Try downloading this (Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_1.29.651.10_RUU.zip) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586704
I take it you're S-Off so follow step 3(a)
If not 3(b) then 3(a).

Ok well I flashed a stock rom and its doing the same thing as ViperOne. It loads and I can see the the lock screen and it will bring up the power menu if I hold down the power button. I still get the white screen with htc on it as my "background" but thats all i see. And as before it goes into a reboot cycle after a minute or so.
Meh

Flashing a "stock rom" is not flashing the RUU -- RUU and then tell us what happened (unless you really meant you actually RUU'd, not merely flashed).
If that' fails, you'll have to back of and get CM 10.1 running, that almost always fixes things.
Actually just re-read that
Flashing a ROM is completely different from flashing a RUU.
Also are you getting a dialer error when you're on that htc splash screen?
Also, yay senior member on thread.

You were installing ViperOne 6.2.1? It could be that that's what screwed you over. IIRC, Viper OTAs are Delta. The latest full ROM is 6.2.0. That is, what you flashed was an update, not a ROM. But whatever.
And as tdhite said, flashing a ROM is not the same as completely bringing your phone back to stock with the RUU tool. Do that please.

System update issue

Some days ago I have downloaded an update for my gionee m2 8gb from system update app of gionee and after downloading it fully, tapped the update icon. The phone switches off then it on's and after a lap it shows that update failed. now when i tried to go back to the system it just flashes Gionee symbol and comes to recovery mode and the same is going back again and again.
now as I have flashed the stock rom and run my phone but trying this same today the same thing happened again.
Is there any problem with update or what. and how can i update the same correctly

Hi!
I am also facing the same issue with my phone. Please let me know if you find a solution.
You can try and check if the update zip is downloaded correctly. Try using a more stable network like Wifi or ensure there is no connectivity issue while downloading the update.
If you search around, you might be able to find the update file here on XDA Forums. You can just download it on your phone, name it update.zip(or something so that the system update recognizes it as the update file) and update your phone using the built in System Update app.
Or just flash a custom ROM (seriously why are you using that sloppy, bloated rom?)
Hit thanks if this helped you!
