Cell Service not working on upgrade *SOLVED* - Moto X Q&A

I recently purchased a Verizon Moto X Developer edition. It was on stock 4.4.4 and was unlocked. I mfastboot flashed the stock leak 5.1 for Verizon. The thing is that I do not get cell service. When I go to APN there is the same one listed a bunch of times. I cannot delete an of them. I think tried different things and got frustrated and mfastboot flashed all the files back to 4.4.4. Has anyone run into this or have any suggestions. Maybe I should not flash the modem files when I upgrade haven't tried that yet.
Ended up flashing everything but the modem and then input the APN which was one variable I got off my wife's phone and it fixed it.
Thanks

[Q] VZW Support for Galaxy Tab

I recently picked up a Galaxy Tab from VZW and rooted flashed it with Sprint Software by accident. I read many posts on here mentioning a modem file not being available for the i800. Is there any way to get my modem working again? Ive flashed back to stock. Tried using several different versions but i have had no luck getting the modem to work. it was to the point where it wasn't even finding the modem and I had a circle with a slash in it.
I flashed a Sprint modem in order to get some sort of modem support on the device and 3 g poped up the first time and here and there it shows up. A stock GB from vzw still didn't help switch the modem.
Any suggestions im running out of ideas and i keep coming to alot of dead links since the device is otw out? I appreciate it.

[Q] Help! I accidentally nuked my baseband settings.

Hi everyone! I really hope you can help me out.
Here's the story....I recently got my Moto X 2014 (XT1097) from Wind and plugged in my Rogers sim card. It works great. Last night I got the OTA update for lollipop. Little did I know it broke my phone. It kept hanging on the startup screen and rebooting itself.
I finally got to factory reset from the boot loader and it let me in.
I followed some sets and flashed some stuff from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/guide-update-xt1095-pure-edition-to-t2937074
Everything seems stable now in lollipop except for the fact that I have no baseband. My APN settings lists "Access Point Names is not listed for this user" and my phone doesn't recognize that I have a SIM card inside.
Could someone please help? I THINK I need to get a NON-HLOS.bin and fsg.mbn file that corresponds to the Wind stock images?
Thanks!
Look up @grafixnyc (I think that's his name) he has all of the updated goodies you'll need.
That particular Lollipop update is broken. You need to contact Wind as this is not something you should be repairing yourself unless you want to void your warranty.

Desperate need of help fixing nonexistant baseband after flashing moto e4 plus

I am completly new to this and obviously wiped way to much.
I have a refurbished i guess xt1775 unlocked phone.
I have attemped to flash a couple of stock roms .On the sprint one i get invalid sim.
On the retail i get no errors but no service/sim available.
When i boot into bootloader i see baseband:none or some such thing.
Lets see now.
I get the following info.
baseband: (not found)
Product/Vartiant: owens XT1775 32GB P3A
flashing_unlocked
Software statusfficial
Hopefully thats enough info.
I need some hand holding to get this working.
Thanks
friend. I have the xt1771, and in the end I managed to recover the baseband and the imeis. but no tutorial has helped me. I had to use several methods. I used the program MauiMeta. With other no work for me.
the only problem, which is not a problem, is that in settings it appears that it is an xt1762, but as I say, everything works for now. luck.
If you get the boost radio image from someone you can fladh. That and get data back i did this on mime when i had it the sprint radio didnt wirk at all
I have done it with baseband from 1762. everything is fine.

And aftee that the problem continues for sometime baseband works after sometime it gets unknown no sim no imei please help me to get out of this. Thanks
Looks like no one helps noobs
Not that no one helps noobs, but not many people check here any more.
1) The real Droid Turbo forum is over at Moto Maxx, where all the updated Moto Quark custom ROMs are.
2) This phone is 4 years old. No one comes here anymore with a "new" problem. So, feel free to SEARCH for previous answers.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/3715?query=baseband
3) Are you still running stock firmware? Is your bootloader unlocked and you're on a custom ROM? What version firmware are you running? You don't mention any of that, which may be relevant.
* If you're still on stock, the best thing to do is reflash same firmware or newer to reset the modem. Be very careful it's not older firmware, or you will brick the phone (if your bootloader is still locked).
* If you're running custom ROM, the best thing is to flash the BHB27 clear modem file in TWRP and then reflash your modem in TWRP. There's TWRP-FLASHABLE modem zip files available for all Moto QUARKS.
A single answer and i got all i want. Thank you chazzmatt. The problem was faulty baseband chip cz mistakenly my brother fell down the device. Repair guy said me he changed the chip and now all set. Thank you buddy and thanks xda

SM-N960U Stuck In Roaming After Moving From Sprint To Verizon

Hi
I have a Note 9 which was originally purchased through Sprint. It's carrier unlocked. After moving the phone to Verizon it remains stuck in Roaming. Technicians at Verizon store clam they've never seen this problem before.
The network's shown as "Preferred System." Factory reset did not help.
I think the phone has Sprint firmware since the Sprint logo shows upon restart.
What works on phone:
Incoming / Outgoing Calls
Internet [around 60MBps]
SMS messages
What's broke:
MMS messages using default "Messaging" application
My wife's pretty upset about this problem.
I am running Linux Mint and familiar with Heimdall.
Do I need to flash Verizon firmware onto this phone?

Since you've already done a factory reset I would think the next logical step is to flash the Verizon or the unlocked firmware. What about the SIM card, did they try a new one?
They only tried one SIM.
When flashing with Heimdal do I simply need to download the Verizon firmware from SamMobile?

There is a thread somewhere in the guide section I recall seeing before from daillcyruz (I think was the OP). Search it and you will find instructions on how to install the VZ firmware.
I am getting an error with Heimdall that there's no firmware.xml.
Indeed the firmware from SamFiles does not contain any xml files.
Any idea how these can be obtained? Goggle does not seem to help.

I ran across a thread where someone had posted a version of Odin that ran on Linux.
Here's one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/utility-odin-linux-jodin3-casual-t3777030
and another: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/odin4-v1-0-linux-t3782930
None of these work. I am not able to get the PIT from device.

you might be able to use odin in wine.. i never tried it tho.. heimdall i havent got to work either..
what firmware are you on? pie is pretty good at switchin csc based on sim inserted.. also crk3 i think it is you can access the csc.apk and change csc easily to any csc.. i havent found any other firmware it works on tho besides crk3..
if u can manage that, theres update.zips you can adb sideload but u need to b on specific firmware versions to update to certain firmwares..
i was messin around with firmwares and changed my csc to sprint.. i have vzw.. although it says roaming i am connected to verizon network so dont think its actually roaming but im not 100% sure
OK
Thanks everyone for help!
I was able to successfully flash using a Windows 10 VM running in Oracle VirtualBox VM. I used Odin v3.13_B. I did not re-partition.
I used this firmware:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note9/SM-N960U/VZW/download/N960USQS1ARJ9/242777/
There were no errors though after the phone rebooted it said there was an "unauthorized attempt" to install software.
It then tells me to connect to Wifi in order to verify my identity.
I cannot skip this process.
The Sprint firmware still seems to be present as I see Sprint applications. I am still roaming on Verizon though the port request was completed at least that's what they said at the store.
Interestingly the Sprint logo does not appear upon booting phone. Only the Samsung logo.
To remove Sprint firmware do I need to flash to the non-carrier firmware first before trying Verizon?
I sounds like someone else had the same problem with the SM-N960U.
The solution in that thread seems to be using the SM-N960U1 firmware.
Can anyone confirm this would be a safe fix to try?
SamMobile is a horrible website
I paid the 8 euro fee and the download for https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note9/SM-N960U1/VZW/download/N960U1UES1ARJ9/244757/ still takes like an hour.
It seems there's some Google phone protection targeted to deter thieves. That could be why it requires me to sign into the previous Google account after flashing.
I am removing my Google account from the phone, doing factory reset, then will try to flash Verizon firmware.
After flashing again it looks like some software called "Sprint OMDAM" still present on the phone. This loads after flashing. When I try to activate on network it comes up while the phone remains in roaming. Again Sprint unlocked the phone.
Should I re-partition?
OK
I wiped the cache partition and did factory reset.
I will yet again try another flash.
The Sprint logo is gone but Sprint apps still remain.
Should I try to re-partition the phone? I don't understand why Sprint applications are showing up when I flash Verizon firmware using Odin.
Make sure you have a Verizon SIM card in the phone.
1. Remove your accounts (Google and Samsung) under settings.
2. Factory reset under settings.
3. Download the U1 firmware using the SamFirm tool
4. Using modded ODIN 3.13.1B flash all four files (use CSC_OYN not the HOME_CSC file).
Optional, if you want WiFi calling and VoLTE:
Download the VZW N960U firmware using the SamFirm tool and flash it the same way using modded ODIN, but this time include the USERDATA file as well.
I think now on Verizon network after using U1 firmware!
