what is the most stable rom for now ?i mean a rom that is based on sense 6 or sense 7 is better ? a lot of ppl talking about sense 6 being better in case of battery and smoothness and stability
I think that this is the case at least for me. Tried several sense 7 roms, including m9 ports and in the long run they proved to be problematic. I like my device customised quite a bit and I have observed many bugs when using sense 7 roms. As for battery viperone 8 that I'm using now is better than version 9 which I was using before that.

same here but did not overclocked it, but slightly undervolted for better battery. Didn't had any issue with Insert Coin Sense 7 + EX and can easily use my phone an entire day on a single charge.
I also found that battery life it slightly worse than on 4.4.3 but not enough to stay away from 5.0.2/sense 7 roms imo. Might depends the roms/kernels and settings your are using.
Stock 7.19.401.2 ROM, and Xceed kernel overclocked to 2.1 Ghz. I feel stock is the most stable and bug free with best battery life. I can go as long as 60 hours on one charge when I don't use my phone too much. I'm averaging about 36 hours and 3 - 3.5 hours SOT which is good enough for me. I don't use any battery savers and I overclocked my CPU to get that extra smoothness

hey all, im currently running virtuous quattro RC3 which is a really nice rom. Looks nice, good Battery life...
question is, is there better? i tried ARHD but the battery life was horrible, any ROMs that really stand out?

Battery life is so 'subjective' to how you use the phone, apps and data that you are going to get answers across the board.
I for one have found that ARHD and the stock 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 ROMs give 'me' excellent battery usage. I can get 2 days out of a single charge, which completely contradicts your experience, doesn't it?
Also CM7 has excellent battery life for my usage pattern, but I prefer the Sense camera app.
Cm7 I have to charge my phone once a day. I generally put it on charge at night before I go bed. But heavy usage will mean I have to charge as soon as I get in from work etc. ..... tbh for ner this is good my iphone needed to be charged in a morning then topped up at night. I havnt done too much with other roms to come up with justified comparisons.

If you want a sense 3.5 ROM I'd suggest you Virtuous Affinity, it's very stable and works great
It all comes down to preference and usage. Theres no perfect rom for everyone you just have to try and experiment
Personally im using MIUI, smooth, easily customized and battery isn't too bad about a day with: data on all day, heavy on texts, medium on calls and games occasionally.
Based on performance i say the trinity sensation and the ice cold sandwich would be nice but im not too sure about the battery life

I flashed Nik roms once and addicted to his roms since then, beautiful rom with built-in tweaks and excellent performance.
Currently ROM: Nik_IncredibleS_TriNiTy_SensationXL V 4.5 By Nikhil007 a.k.a Nikhil Dhayatkar
IceColdSandwich 5.5 ROM is the best

thats weird as... coz i left it in my pocket and it was using up about 1% everytime i looked at it which was about every 5 minutes
and thanks all for the replies, might have to try icecoldsandwhich, seems to be a hit
before i put icecold on, IceColdSandwhich vs Virtuous Quattro?
ARHD 2.2.0 have best battery life for me, more then enough for full day of heavy usage. Usually lasts for 2 days. I cant get even close results with other roms.
Ice cold sandwich is my favorite. After using 4.0, I can't go back to 2.3. ICS is just so much nicer looking and better performing IMO.

4 days? nice. ye, i ended up flashing Ice Cold 5.6
Best battery for me was ARHD with Sense elements removed, easily.
Best performing was CM7.1.
Best looking Ice Cold Sandwich 5.6 which I'm currently running now.
Favourite overall is Ice Cold; pretty damn good performance and decent (but not amazing) battery on Tiamat kernel.
i'm waiting CM9 lol
Ice cold sandwich does pretty good overall. Actually it has some minor things to fix but you need to see before you buy so you're gonna love it.

Hi everybody,
i´ve started this thread because of getting a view of your experiences of good kernel rom combinations. For every user there are different expectations so i´ve decided to categorize in 3 different sections.
1. Battery Usage
longest battery lifetime - depends on each configuration sure but where did you get the best goal for you
2. Performance
based on user experience - not benchmark
3. Usabiltity
your favourite combination for daily use for balance of performance and speed
Please post for which category you provide your post and write some comments why this is the best combination for you. So let's start to share your experience
:fingers-crossed:
I will start
Battery
For until now is the best combination for battery saving for me this:
Rom: Carbon Rom 1.7
Kernel: Matr1x Kernel 9.0 (non overclocked)
Changing kernel from stock of carbon to matr1x pushed my battery life huge. At this time this is the best combination for me for battery life

Nice idea but:
1. Users all have different setups regarding installed roms, apps, widgets, mods and usage. So its very hard to compare screenontime/batterylife.
2. By performance you mean synthethic benchmarks or user experience?
3. Usability! What do you mean exactly by that?
As said don`t want to nitpick but specify the parameters
Me personaly i use Stock 4.2.2 rom and Franco nightlie r148.

it´s very difficult because of individual configurations and impressions and everybody has to test it on his own but i think it´s good to get an experience what other users prefer Please add a category if it´s possible. That would be nice!
I´ve specified the parameters a bit.

Nexus 4 battery best battery life
So i'm running P.A 3.60 combined with matrix kernel 8.5 on my nexus 4. I used trickster mod to change it to 2 cpus in use only and its still silky smooth and handles all the games i play still. With Gpu overclocked and limiting the 2 cores in use to 1Ghz when i'm barely using the phone plus display set to about 50% brightness (mabye too high for indoor use but i just love the screen), i got 20+ hours with wi-fi on constantly, and using social networks (facebook, whats app, sent about 100 sms in the day, plus 4 hours of call time) with 18% left. I think thats good enough

thank you for your settings. can you detailed explain what modifications you've done in trickster mod?
CPU Cores max frequencies / 4 Cores or??
GPU Cores max frequencies / limited to number of cores?
I want to mess up my battery life
thank you
I use Stock ROM and faux123 15tbm kernel
In dual core mode at a maximum clock of 1728 MHz and minimum of 214 with -100mv of UV I had 16 hours of battery time. 4 hours of screen time with normal use, music, gps, chrome and what's app.
The usability its better than stock kernel.
I never had lag issues or bugs.
My best and only at the moment is CM 10.1 + Franco Kernel.
On 2G, wifi on, auto brightness , I've been getting 40 minutes of screen (browsing, on Facebook, etc) at each 10 percent of battery.

saberMod + sts kernel best combination ever.
For me, I quite enjoy Trinity/Franco/Community Kernel with Carbon, or Trinity and CodeFireX. Both super-high performance ROMs.

Also, I thought that "best of" threads weren't allowed.
I use latest PA and franco.
Hello. I'm on stock 4.2.2 and enhanced stock faux kernel. Stock is fast and pretty stable in this combination. I want try something different but when I try CM with faux kernel it become unstable. Why I'm using faux kernel? Because I'm using Trickster Mod. Which ROM working good with faux kernels? PA maybe?

i think it's ok. It doesn't evaluate best rom's or kernel's. It evaluate experiences. but if it's not ok - i can change thread title. Thank for the hint :good:
Guys, can you please add the section? Nobody knows for which goal is your combination good! Thanks in advance!
Stock + Franco Nightly
I want a flawless system so I stay on stock Android + I don't have the time to maintain nightly updated ROMs like CM, although I really like CM, especially its free customization... But doing those customization = Eat up my time for studying... So I decide to keep me and my N4 away from them
However I cannot accept the battery life and CPU management of the stock kernel so I chose Franco Kernel. I nearly do not play games and I accept seldom lags. My main use is browsing the web (often open up to 10 tabs ) and texting. My battery usually lasts for one day with ~5 hours of on-screen time and it's satisfying.
Running Carbon 1.7 with the latest Trinity kernel (131). Looks pretty solid so far.
Stock + Motley's kernel, with 2.5 days uptime + 3 hours SOT. Can't complain there.
Carbon 1.7, Franco latest nightlie using the BeastlyBattery power mode. On average 5hours screen on time.

so here's my issue its with the battery.. before on v3.5 I would get amazing battery best Rom I've ever gotten battery life from.. I switched off to a stock ics Rom cause of the camera and dropped network issue.. when I noticed the camera was fixed I flashed v3.7 and now I get horrible batt life literally 30% to 30 mins with medium use facebook texting browsing... I'm wondering what's going on?? and its not the battery I have 3 and they all die fast with this Rom.. is it my phone? any suggestions would be appreciated
Try reflashing

Thanks for responding.. tried it on the holics rom too and horrible battery life idk what it is I'm running the virtuous from and seems to be ok but on sence roms it drains fast it also has random drops from 20% to 12% or just dies I usually run the from for 3 days but the battery doesn't improve is this just a vivid thing or is my device damaged and using a lot of battery?
Also my my device gets very hot on those roms not the battery but below it I'm guessing the processor ?

It is possibly the processor because of the fact that you can overclock your processor on a custom rom.

I'm thinking the same as well it was quite frequent on those roms I dont think its a app because before I install my apps the phone is pretty much vanilla so I turned off some sync and dropped my CPU to 720 MHz or so and also lowered my gpu with kernel tuner. Hope this works
Side note if u don't love sense go with the virtuous rom its awesome.. coupled with nova prime its been the most flawless rom for me fyi s off at&t vivid.. really well made rom I haven't run into any problems using it..IMO the borked rom and virtuous rom are the most stable on at&t version of vivid
If anyone had this problem ill let u know how I fixed it.. just flash kosmik kernal and that's it works beautiful my battery now lasts all day with heavy use.. hope this helps someone
Hi all,
I've recently flashed SkyDragon's GPE v4.0.1 for the HTC ONE M7. I'm running Elementalx 15.1 GPE kernel. My battery doesn't seem to last as long as the other Sense ROMs I've used, with mainly the screen draining most of the battery. The screen has been on for approximately 3h 20min. Attached is a screenshot of my battery usage. I wonder if there are any tips to extend the battery life, other kernels etc.

Darker screen. No matter what I do, I always get 3-4.5hrs screen time on sense. Use better battery stats or gsam battery monitor to accurately see if the device has a rogue wakelock.

I know you already answered his question but, I must ask what ROM and kernel are you running on your M7. 3-4.5hrs is crazy battery considering I usually get 2.5hrs of SOT. I used to run CM-based ROM and now I am switching to Sense based ROMs because of stories of incredible battery. Need a suggestion as to which one to use?
I know our usage of the phone is different and apps and wakelocks also matter but plz tell me the ROM and kernel.

Nusense with nukernel. I sometimes switch to viperone. Both do pretty well. I get closer to the 4.5 mark if screen is completely dim. If brightness is up it is closer to the 3 hr mark.

Have you tried out ARHD? I am currently running the 93.0 version and my stanby time is really great (12 hrs have passed and at 77%), I don't use my phone a lot especially in school (mostly listen to music) so this is so much better compared to CM based ROMs were after 12hrs I would be at 58%. Thanks for the tip I will try out Nusense I really like santods ROMs for the M7, I kinda just went for the most regarded sense ROM which is ARHD and besides Sense 7 is good but I am fine with Sense 6.

Nusense has sense 7 version. I haven't tried ARHD as it wasn't compatible with the Verizon variant for a long time.
Over the time, my stock HTC One has become laggy and bettery life has been pretty bad. (I am on stock 5.0.2)
I, now, am looking to root my One and want a stable, butter smooth and battery efficient Sense 7 ROM. I came across many Sense 7 ROMs in development section - InsertCoin, ViperOne, SDv6, Artmod and others. Can someone suggest which one is the best in terms of the parameters I am looking for?
Thanks
I can only recommend Insertcoin, as I haven't tried the others.
If you combine this with the elementalX kernel you can achieve a pretty nice battery life.
Install X-posed and greenify for an even better battery
From all the roms I have flashed, I have found Sense 7 roms offer the worst for battery life. Kitkat Sense 6 roms seem to be the best for performance and battery life, but then that's just my experience. Each to their own.
Best Battery Live ever
try
1) [ROM] Android Revolution HD 92.0 with
2) Elementrix Kernel
3) Greenefy and
4) Xposed and the MobleActiveRadioFix (to fix Lollipop Bug)
5) (optional) if you like, change launcher to launcher ex - sense is very battery intensiv
