Unable to boot Huawei P7-L00 into Recovery mode - Huawei Ascend P7

Since the new update is out i want to update my phone (Huawei P7-L00, the dual-sim version) to B851, (or try Miui 7 if that works on the P7-L00). However, i am unable to boot into the recovery mode, to launch the UPDATE.APP from system > local update or to perform a Factory Reset from the settings menu.
I can reach the Fastboot & Rescue mode by connecting an USB and pressing Vol - & Power- button. But there are no options there and i cant do anything.
Also i tried the ADB Toolkit and my devices is listed but whenever i press: Boot to REcovery mode it just seems to shutdown. At least the screen stays black. After some hassling with the power button it will go on again but nothing seems to have changed.
How can i get the factory settings back or update instantly to the new version? Is there another way?

Was able to flash the latest recovery.img, cust.img ,system.img and boot.img after which everything seems to be working again.

unlocked bootloader?
Hi,
a short question...
I have a Huawei Ascend P7 dual sim L00 as well...could you find a way to unlock the bootloader in order to root this device?

How To Restore Everything Using Fastboot?

Hi.
I got into problem after flashing the Beta 7.0. I need to restore my phone using fastboot since the eRecovery that I got gave me only 3 options: download latest version and recovery, reboot, shutdown.
I have tried flashing the system.img, boot.img and recovery (both stock and TWRP). During flashing everything looked OK without any error but I still get this when booted:
"Your device has been unlocked and cant be trusted - your device is booting now..." and it got into bootloop.

try to put the update.app of B130 on dload folder on SD Card, external sd or OTG and it should be able to flash..
i had a similar issues, almost was going to go the service center when i was able to flash the firmware B130 thru the auto update from OTG (flash drive) (Hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power).
The dload / 3 button method doesn't work any more, here is what worked for me:
I got to the state where I could only enter Fastboot mode (Press vol- and connect power cable). When I tried to start the phone / go into recovery it would only display the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" Message. My mistake was to relock the bootloader in an attempt to get the recovery to work.
I looked for hours for the answer, here is what worked for me:
follow this tutorial (the "update firmware" part)
German
English
But with real precision, every step.
If you have a european unbranded L09 you should be fine using the firmware you can find on this site:
https://thedroidguru.com/download-install-huawei-p9-b394-nougat-update-europe/
if not you gotta find the full firmware (3 files!!) yourself - good luck!
If you only want to go back to stock you should be fine afterwards.
If you want to install twrp for root/custom rom/... follow these steps after installing twrp with the tool:
Upon flashing TWRP, FIRST THING YOU MUST DO is rebooting to TWRP. If you don't do that, stock Recovery will ovewrite TWRP.
Find instructions in the TWRP threads how to enforce immediate booting to TWRP, upon you flashed it:
-Type on the PC: fastboot reboot -but don't press Enter yet.
-Press and keep pressing Vol+ and Power buttons together on the phone
-Press Enter on the PC and then immediately unplug USB cabel.
-When phone shows Booting, release Power but keep pressing Vol+. button
Hope this helps, I don't take responsability for anything, happy flashing!

DLOAD does not work for half a year, ie since Huawei stopped releasing FullOTA-MF-PV builds (it worked only for them)
Here, on XDA there are two proven guides for recovering Nougat (not just for EU c432 but for all custs, not only for P9 L09 but also for L19, L29) - just search for them: HWOTA7, HuRUpdater
PS: You have crossposted the same to several threads?!

Need Help. ADB, Recovery and Fastboot/Download Mode don't work

Hey xda community,
last night i run into a tricky situation.
First, I explain what I did
I bought me the P9 EVA-L09 via Telekom Germany.
cause i don't want the Telekom **** on my device i decide to TWRP, Root, and flash P9 stock Rom on it.
Unlocking and install TWRP with the SRK Tool works fine. Install the Root was a bit more tricky, because windows lost the correct ADB connection when i go into TWRP Sideload Mode. Because that does not work, i decide to flash the P9 Stock ROM without Root to come forward.
While flashing, (i don''t now anymore which method i choose to flash) an error appers, and the flash process canceled.
The Device don't boot anymore. After a loot of googeling and testing, i've found out that the problem was the encryption of the /Data Partition.
TWRP was unable to mount it, same for the /cust and one more.
After reading about other Methods to get the Phone work again i try this Method i've found on xda.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/stock-rom-dload-file-p9-eva-l09-b136-t3382818
Unfortunately the "press all buttons on the phone" Method don't work.
I also tried out the Huawei Update Extractor to flash single image files to the partitons of the phone. I used the dload file form the previous Method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/372688-re-partition-stock-partition-tool/ (using the answer on the bottom)
Download from xda huawei update extractor and extract img files from the update.
Turn off the phone, then press vol- and power key, you are in fastboot mode.
Then, flash img files from extracted rom with:
Fastboot flash system SYSTEM.IMG
fastboot flash boot BOOT.IMG
And do the same with the others...
When you finish, fastboot reboot
Click to collapse
But that don't work. fastboot already replies with "Remote Command not allowed"
i changed the Method a bit. I've put the BOOT.IMG and RECOVERY.IMG an an SD card and flash it via the Install IMG Funktion of TWRP.
That workes very well and expect the /data partition every partition was mountable again.
Then i used the "Fastboot flash system SYSTEM.IMG" again, and tada it works without errors.
The device is booting again to Android, but it reports that the /Data Partition Decryption failed and i have to enter the Recovery Mode and do a factory reset to unlock the partition. If i reboot for get rid of this error the phone does not boot into the Recovery, it boot to the eRecovery which is useless for that because it only provide the eRecovery function instead of also a normal factory reset (how dump is this )
Now the state is, phone boots normal, reports the /Data is not decryptable, reboot to eRecovery, shutdown or reboot. It does really nothing else.
I can't get into the Fastboot/Download Mode, it ignores the Key Combination Volume down + Power. If i press this it starts normal.
I also can't get into the recovery / TWRP Mode, it ignores the Key Combination Volume Up + Power. If i press this is starts normal.
I've also noticed that the Phone is not conecting to the ADB on my computer, only the virtual CDROM from wich the HiSuite is installable connects.
I've also noticed that the eRecovery is not able to starts WIFI on the phone. It errors with "Starting WIFI failed!"
I also tryed out another time the dload function. This changed nothing. Phone boots still normal and run into the Decryption problem.
And i tried out to boot into fastboot or recovery after a cold reset, battery empty
Now it's on you. Has anybody an idea how i can solve one of the above problems. I think when one is solved the others will disappear via flashing new TWRP or so
Try connecting your phone to usb and then holding power+volume down until it boots to fastboot mode.
Huawei phone won't boot into recovery if system and twrp don't match but it should boot to fastboot allways.
What is the last rom you had on your phone while it was working?

Sent from my HUAWEI VIE-L29 using XDA Labs
I see two possibilites for this behavior:
1) The phone only pretents to reboot but makes a kind of warm start (never running the code to branch to recovery/boot) -> if the phone seems powered off and you attach usb cable, do you see standard battery laoding animation (that's what it should be) or black screen / boot logo?
2) You flashed a wrong boot.img and/or recovery.img or flashing got screwed up
If you have wrong images, fastboot should still work as edint3000 said.
For the unlikely case (1) with non removable battery you have to wait until battery is drained before you can boot into fastboot after connecting USB cable. Edit: oops just saw you did that.
I had another phone that at some point decided to go only in fastboot with volume down and no power button, when powered up with USB power. But I had never such an issue with a Huawei phone. However, playing around a bit costs nothing (but time).
I see no reason why fast boot should not work. How did you find out, that everything is fine after flahing with TWRP and before flashing system with fastboot?
Did you do anything else than flashing the system.img with fastboot?
Chilli
Same problem here...Phone not boot/not enter fastboot mode/not enter recovery mode...just stuck "your device booting now" screen...any solution?
Hello Mossyhand
you should search for the recovery Method with an "dload" ROM. This are kind of special Roms wich are able to "selfflash" onto the phone.
You have to put the right file onto your SD Card and then you have to press some keys when i remember right.
Sadly i've forgot, when i solved my problem, to reply how i did that exactly ._.
But if you do search in the dload method you will figure a way out i guess
If you don't find an right file, i can upload you my file, i have it still on my computer
had the same problem
go into the erecovery, it will tell you the data partition has been damaged. u can wipe it from there. go into trwp again, install rom and stuff. voila, works
cheers

Same problem but on EVA-AL00 running AL19C636B190
Have u tried to unlock bootloader or flash boot/recovery with fastboot mode?
I have the same problem, any ideas?
I had the same issue, three only thing that worked for me was to get the phone into recovery, vol down and power and flash through DC phoenix
My P9 make "self reset" all time, until battery gets empty. I can't get into recovery
Open hisuite enter recovery area plug phone to pc you see vol down + power screen. Press vol- and power button you must go to fastboot screen. If phone recover by hisuite thats ok.
If not, you need unlocking bootloader with srk tool ( must have unlock code ) flash twrp with command fastboot flash recovery twrp.img or use srk tool to flash twrp recovery.
Enter recovery upload files to sd card, flash L09C432B322 zip than hw_eu zip. Your phone must boot with nougat. (Of course your phone dont C432, you must use your phone B322 files)
If you dont use nougat do a rollback prosedure.

Please help me guys QQ
If you have C432, try this:
1. install via sdcard + 3buttons UPDATE.app from HUAWEI_P9_Rollback Package_EVA-L19_from Android 7.0_EMUI 5.0_to Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1_C900B300
2. install via sdcard + 3 buttons HUAWEI_P9_Firmware_EVA-L09_Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1.1_C432B182_Western Europe

try installing 6.0 firmware for you model.
i cant go to eRecovery, i cant even shut down device - only full discharge can make it.But i can go to fastboot. Ive tried with fastboot commands but i have locked bootloader and every time my flashes are rejected by phone. The simpliest metod - HiSuite send me message: "no recovery packages are found for your phone model". It should be a way to unbrick it with fastboot but i dont know how.

I had the same problem!
Hi there.
Was in the same situation as you not so long ago.
Get a micro SD card, plug into PC, create a dload folder then download the rollback file from the Huawei website.
I'm a new user so can't post URL. Just Google "Huawei P9 rollback" should be the 2nd option (consumer.huawei link)
Put in the dload folder and put into your P9.
Press and hold power, vol up and down together till the Huawei logo appears and let go when you feel the vibrate.
This should force update and restart. (does not rollback to email 4.1, only unlocks the rollback from emui 5)
Next you need to download your previous firmware, in my case I'm in the UK with unlocked P9, so I downloaded EVA-L09C432B166.
Same again, put micro SD into PC, delete the rollback file and put your firmware in its place.
Put back in the P9 and repeat the above force update.
This will put you back to working stable stock.
For further reassurance, download a build previous to B166 so when it's up and running you can search for an OTA update to make sure all is in order.
Hope this helps.
Did you meant that the rollback flashes without going to eRecovery? I said some posts earlier that i cannot enter eRecovery so i cant dload anything. Im stuck on Huawei logo all the time do you think than i can flash something via dload without going to eRecovery?
erecovery is different.
I'm saying to do a force update, but in order to do so you need a microSD card.
Erecovery involves holding power up while connecting to PC in order to use HiSuite etc to recover.
Force updater tells the phone to search for dload folder on SD card or phone and install the update before trying to boot up OS.
So, if you connect microSD to your PC via a card reader etc and not via your phone, you can create a dload folder, download the rollback file from Huawei (above) the file is only around 80mb or so, plug the SD card back into your phone while powered off, hold down Power + vol up + vol down. The Huawei logo will appear, when it disappears let go of all the buttons. This should bring up the Update screen.
At this point the phone will install the rollback file. and this will bypass the rollback prevention in emui 5 and therefore allow you to install a previous emui build (4.1)
Again though your phone will still not boot at this point as there is no OS working or installed.
So you need to download the corresponding firmware for your phone/country/operator. Once downloaded, remove the memory card from the phone, connect to PC via card reader, delete the rollback file you placed in the dload folder and replace it with the downloaded OS and repeat the process used to install the rollback.
From there you should be back to stock marshmallow.
I should point out the files you download may be in zip folders. You need to extract the "update" file and that's what you place in the dload folder.
Hope this all makes sense, if not I can make a YouTube video and post it.
Good luck.
Now i know what did you mean, but sadly i cant update it too. I tried with my friend's P9 and when i hold these 3 buttons then shows special update screen and in my P9 it doesnt probably because of my bad flash rollback for P9 EVA-L19 and i have EVA-L09 model

The rollback package for L09 model is here: http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=91892&version=363759&siteCode=es
Inform the results please.
I made a video to better understand. This wideo is showing that phone isn't searching any dload folder. https://youtu.be/oD9AI_6SqLs
edit: i have tried your advices to put rollback and try to dload it and then same with firmware but there is no reaction i didnt see there any circle with progress of flashing (like it was before i flashed rollback for L19)
Mine is now doing the exact same thing - I too tried the dload method to update from C432B182 to C432B361 and it's screwed my device up too.
Until I tried to use the 'rollback' package, it would at least allow me to power off, so I could get back into the Update screen - after doing that, and trying the B182 again, it's got into this position where I can do literally nothing with it. No combination of buttons, no matter how long I try to hold them, seems to do anything.
An update...
After letting my battery drain completely, I have been able to get into Fastboot mode, by pressing and holding the Volume Down button whilst connecting a USB cable to my PC.
From here, I have been able to run DC-Phoenix, and have been able to write some .APP files to it - which has at the very least got it booting into eRecovery, rather than the boot loop it had before, but is still not fully booting.
It looks like I might need the full, original firmware, in order to proceed?
And I've got about 68 hours left to flash using DC-Phoenix, or I'll have to spend another €15!
Yes you download the original firmware unzip it and put it in the "dload" folder of SD card then do a force update. Hold all the buttons vol + vol - and power

Bricked device (seeking advice)

Hi there,
This is for EVA-L09.
How this came about:
I was relocking my bootloader when it failed(fastboot changed to locked though) however, continued onto reboot anyway. It didnt reach the EMUI lowlevel wipe stage
Device info:
EVA-L09
Nougat
C432 B391 (If I remember correctly)
FRP unlocked
bootloader ???
phone functionality:
whenever it turns on I just get huawei logo regardless of key combos
seemingly unable to fastboot
Unable to force update (Vol +&- & Power)
Unable to recovery mode
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar situation or any insight how to fix this.
Most solutions I've found require fastboot but once my device starts charging the logo appears then only restarting by holding power is available.
I expect the cause to be the issue relocking the bootloader.
thanks for any insight.
Edit/Notes: I have sucessfully unbricked this device before via the dload method however unable to. (rollback to 4.1EMUI and 6.0 then changed to C432 B168 and upgraded from there)
I do have a DC Pheonix account on standby if I ever can fastboot

As you say, you cannot go to Fastboot even by power off, Vol- and connecting USB?
It doesn't help now but when you were relocking (btw why, but you may had your reasons for), did you have clean stock without root and TWRP (since relocking ininitates full reset)?
TG, I never used DC Phoenix but maybe you can unbrick by Method 3 (seems, it does not rely on Fastboot?):

sometimes people do mistake trying to boot in fastboot while are not conected to pc, connect phone and pc with usb, then try to force restart holding power more than 30 sec together with vol -. If cable are not connected, you never will boot in fastboot and find a way to test if your usb cable working properly!! i bought one non-huawei cable, it was new, but with that cable i wasnt able to boot in fastboot, duno why, so there need to be original cable for this! (maybe i bought foulty cable, duno , with non-huawi cable i can easy charge, transfer data to pc, but when tried to use adb comands, sometime it worked, sometime not, but with original cable got no problems at all)
Thank you for both of your comments. I have now successfully recovered via DC-Phoenix.
I was just getting unlucky with holding down the Vol - key it seems as I eventually got into fastboot which then allowed DC-PHOENIX to solve the problem.
The Huawei wire which I bought is third party and I have noticed connection dropping which may have caused me to not enter fastboot as it had unconnected(but not visibly). This happens during normal system boot as well when I'm trying to use MTP.
