Some members may know this, but I hope to let others know about it.
For those who needs to know, you can now install two whatsapp, line, FB or what ever apps (most) you have on the S2, just download my knox from play store, the app takes time to install, so expect a good few minutes.

It will still be only one of each app that's installed. Though it will run twice with different settings or accounts. It's e.g. not possible to run two different versions of the same app.

I should really be more specific, some people like me have 2whatsapp account, or 2line, or 2 facebook, this programs allows you to do just that, any app thats will only allow to have one account on the Sam device, can use this app, it will duplicate it and run independently from each other.
I have tested it with whatsapp, and can confirm it works.

Before the flaming, I have read and searched many threads before posting.
Reading over the manual:
1. Can you select / Install google maps instead of bing maps like on HD2?
2. If not on Bing maps, does your location auto move as you move, similar to GPS?
3. Never used Zune, does it allow you to sync contacts? not important just interesting to know.
4. For those who have synced to google calendar, is it smooth and fully function? or have you noticed issues?
5. Reading about SRS, many say you have to install an app, according to manual, its in the HTC hub section already installed? which one do we use?
6. Not sure where but I read that future updates will be done auto and not force your phone to be reset to factory default like we currently do with HD2, can this be confirmed? any one know ?
I hate doing updates on HD2, having to re-sync and recreate email accounts and settings, if they do updates without having to reset to factory, such as the new Droid OS does, would be a very easy way to function.

1. Currently, only Bing maps is available on the phone, as all primary mapping services also only use Bing (so far). I have yet to come across any apps that use Google Maps, yet.
2. If an application uses the GPS regardless of whether it is using Bing, or Google, or neither, it works the same way where it tracks your location... hence the point of GPS.
3. Zune is for syncing media only at this point. It does not sync your Outlook/Windows/desktop contacts, and currently there is no 'official' way of doing this. Windows Phone 7 relies heavily on the cloud and Exchange server services (Windows Live, Gmail, etc.)
4. Using Google Calendar on the phone is rather simple and straightforward, aside from the limitation that Windows Phone 7 can only currently see your primary calendar only.
5. The SRS and Dolby sound enhancements are HTC-device specific only. You would download the application from the HTC Hub on the Marketplace, which you can only see if you are browsing the Marketplace on an HTC device.
6. Updates are pushed by Microsoft, and not necessarily the carrier (but certainly possible). You are correct that they work more as patches to the system rather than requiring full system re-installs.
I should add that, having been through the hard-reset process recently, getting the phone back to how I had it was fairly straight forward, although there were a couple of time-consuming things:
- set up APN (not needed if you're using an operator-locked phone with the operator's SIM)
- set up WiFi
- Enter Windows Live login details
- Enter Gmail login details
- Enter Facebook details
- Link Gmail contacts with Facebook ones -- most are done for you, but I had about 15 I had to manually link out of 250 contacts.
- Redownload apps. Apparently if you get the apps via Zune Desktop, this happens for you when you resync, but if you've bought/downloaded them via Marketplace, you have to manually redownload.
The bold steps were the time consuming ones. I also lost all saved games, which is frustrating.

WP7 puts apps to sleep effectively - I can't remember the term they use off hand, but when you navigate away, if the app doesn't ask you if you want to exit, then it will save the state - dehydrated I think is the term! - so it's no longer running in the background. Then when you go back to it, it's rehydrated.
So no task killer.

Not bad, glad to see them follow nokias foot steps on this one.
I hated having task killer but then again its nice to see what is running in back round and bring up a app or process via that as well.

The app does not come with the phone. The phones do come with HTC Hub though, and through that application, you can view all the other HTC apps, including the Sound Enhancer one, and download it through there. It is also available through the Marketplace (HTC Hub just basically links you to the Marketplace for its downloads).

[Q] Which system apps are safe to freeze?

All google apps like Google Docs, Sheets, Play Movies, Play Games, Google+ etc. Then various Google keyboard inputs which you are not using like I am not using Google Korean so disabled it. HP Print service, Photos (I don't take online backup of photos so don't need it).
Avoid using Facebook app, instead use browser for FB and G+.
No need to disable Moto Service, afterall these features are what make it a MotoX and also turning any of those service doesn't make any big difference in battery life or performance.
Once you disable the above services/apps, nothing useless left.

But I want to make a new question.
As we navigate on Rom Toolbox (for example), we see a lot of tasks there and somethings I neved heard of... I'd like to know which one of them I can freeze and which ones I can't ever because it would shut the system down.
Don't freeze anything unless you know what it is, and have a specific reason for freezing it.
A lot can actually be frozen depending on what 3rd party apps you use. I actually freeze/disable a ton of stuff on my phone!
If you use a 3rd party camera, you can uninstall the stock one.
Tags is another, i don't even have a clue what this is for but i've never had a drawback from disabling or uninstalling it.
Sound recorder.
I could go on and list a whole bunch, but i really don't know what you have installed for 3rd party.

Kindle Fire 5th Gen & G-Suite issues with Google Play

Howdy,
I am looking for some very specific help here on my device and so will try to provide as much information as I can with regards to it.
The basic issue is that I cannot, for any adequate length of time (more than a few minutes or hours), access the Google Play store on my Kindle Fire 5th Gen after it's initial installation. This is on Fire OS 5.3.2.1.
Where I started:
I have followed the instructions on how to install Google Play on the Kindle Fire without requiring root, which is basically the installation of the four required APKs. I used the script posted here on the forums and it worked well enough, but I've also copied the APKs locally to the device and installed them from there using the Local Storage tab in the Docs app.
The issue:
Within a few minutes or hours of having the Google Play store working, I am, for a second time, prompted to accept the Google Play terms and conditions when I load the store app. Once I accept (which I have no real choice otherwise, it just exits the app if I click Decline), I am now faced with an empty store screen and the message saying that there are no apps I can install as my Administrator has not made any available to me.
As I am my own Administrator, I know this is utter nonsense. This is also only the case on my account, as a dummy account that is not part of my G-Suite account does not have this issue, but alas, also does not have my purchases associated with it so this is not a good permanent choice.
My troubleshooting:
This issue seems to be entirely due to some issue with the fact that I am using a G-Suite account (the previously named Google Apps for Work) and not just your average Google account. The "apparent" issue is that the Google Play Store app seems to think I am using an Advanced management device (more info here, support.google.com/a/answer/6328699).
I have spent a few hours on the phone with G-Suite support on this. There was a point I mistakenly had the Advanced management settings on (EMM is the main culprit setting, the ability for the Administrator to control which apps their users can install, users being myself, my wife, and our son), but I have since, and for over a week now, had it off. They say toggling that takes about 24 hours to propagate, so that should be plenty of time. All I really wanted anyway was the Basic management anyway, i.e., being able to remotely locate, wipe, remove account, etc., on my various devices should they be lost or stolen, but I turned on some settings that weren't worded well enough for me to understand, apparently, and so Advanced it was.
Even with the EMM off, I still receive this error. At this point, I have many times over removed both the device from my G-Suite account as well as turned off mobile management entirely (it currently sits off and has since last week) which should have made it about as equivalent to a standard Google account as you can get, and yet still, the second prompting of the terms and service and the subsequent inability to browse the store after more than a short while after it just worked a bit ago.
Workarounds:
I can uninstall all four Google services apps, re-install them, add a dummy account, and get any free apps I want installed on my Kindle added, then uninstall again, re-install again, and add my account back, and then launch the apps and have them work. But again, this doesn't give me access to my purchased apps or add-ins so is not the best choice of action, nor is having to do this whole process again and try to get the Google Play store to work for those precious few minutes before it conks out. Sometimes it's not even a few minutes, but usually it is, but nevertheless, not the best all-around choice.
My hopeful resolution?:
Since neither I nor G-Suite Support seems to know of a setting that is currently preventing this from working, I am wanting to try some other methods that seem logical to me.
1) Putting the Google Play Store on my wife's profile on my Kindle and have it install any apps for all users and not just her profile. That "all users" part is what I am missing how to do. I know the script mentioned above that installs Google Play does install to all users so I know it's possible. Naturally, I would prefer this done through the store and not through manual APKs but beggars can't be choosers. I just want my auto-updates!
2) Allowing the adding and management of multiple Google accounts under my single profile. Currently, only one Google account can be added using the method of installing the Google Play store above, and if I could add mine and a dummy one, it should also work, in theory, by just swapping back and forth on the Play store. Still limited by purchases that are tied to my account (I believe), but not add-ins. I'd have to see how much trouble that is worth, but it could be better than nothing.
3) Anything else someone here on the forums can think of.
I'm open to questions, suggestions, or whatever at this point. I've now spent two weeks on this and yet still no resolution.

Tough issue, but not entirely unexpected behavior given the interdependencies of Google Play services components and undocumented assumptions of how play services/store will be installed on unrooted systems. Layer on G-suite and you have a snakes pit. My guess is one of more of the installed components is self-updating while the others are not. Probably not going to be able to control that behavior on an unrooted device.
May be less involved (and more successful) grabbing a refurb from Amazon Warehouse which typically arrive with older/rootable firmware.
Did you ever find a solution to this? I've got exactly the same problem now... Information seems light out there.

No, I never got a fix for this, and unfortunately I have been relegated to just uninstalling all apps that came direct from APKs or just not from the Amazon Appstore. It sucks and makes my Fire not very worth it, despite the nice price tag.

Package Disabler Pro experience and comment on their authenticity

After 2 weeks of attempts to make it work, after several emails sent to the PoliceDeveloper team, here is my conclusion. This product is malicious or doesn't work.
Notice: I do not work for Samsung nor I've ever worked for PoliceDeveloper. I have no interest at all posting this except warning the next users. I'm simply a guy a bit pissed off by Samsung bloatwares.
Maybe my experience could bring some additional answers to a certain post reported on reddit and named: package_disabler_question.
This app is weird for several reasons explained below:
The developer team doesn't support you. The process is well documented nowhere, even in their emails, really absolutely nowhere. Apparently it doesn't work and when you show them the proof that you are dealing with an installation issue, they don't dare to reply, they simply ignore you or reply with an automated template. Truly disrespectful when you trusted them buying the app on the store.
Their website seems to refer to wrong versions only (based from my own experience). From the Google store, versions sometime work, sometime they doesn't. It was mentioned somewhere (app itself or their website) that you have to install a "PDP engine". When it's done, it still doesn't work, you write to the team and at that moment they state by email you don't need to use it anymore. So why is there a PDP engine to install at the very begining?? And the strangest thing is you don't know at all which tool is doing what, because nothing is explained anywhere.
The tool needs an internet connection, but you don't know what is it for? You guess, seeing what happens on your screen, that Knox validate the license. But is it even a genuine popup? I asked to the team what was this connection requirement for. Strange, after this email, silence from the team until the date I'm sharing my experience here.
Now if it was only about some painful installation and comunication with the dev team, I would only rank it with 3 or 4 stars, complimenting them for the great work. But there is much annoying, the tool maybe does not do what it pretends to do. When you achieve to install it and make it work after several emails, you want to disable some packages, they become indeed displayed in a disabled app list within PackageDisabler, good! But when you check the Android built-in task manager, nothing is in the Android disabled app list. I tried to run one of the recently disabled package and the app can't start. So does it do the job or does it make you think it does... I'm not an Android specialits so I simply asked about this to the team, not a single answer.
They state Samsung is trying to block their app. They just explain that maybe in the purpose to work under the radar sending you an apk by email, and of course you have to give Admin permission to that app. So is it even true Samsung is fighting them? And if it was true, why? You will tell me because they want to protect their juicy bloatware apps. Based on my experience, I'm begining to think maybe Samsung simply tries to protect their platform end users from that app...
I asked for a reimbursement. Yes even for 2$, it doesn't work on my Galaxy S9 so help me or give me my money back. No answer from PoliceDeveloper...
So I let you make your own judgement about all of these.
In my opinion, when you buy an app and ask for what the app needs/does, or simply why it seems not to do what the developer claims, you should get your answers. Otherwise there is something sleazy.
Note: Galaxy S9 Duos - Exynos here...
No problems here. I've been using it for some time and the only problem I've ever had was a minor one that was fixed with a new update.

S9, US Snapdragon
Been using on my s9 exynos for 2 months now. Perfect!
I actually bought package disabler pro from the play store couple days ago (s9) and it has worked fine. I found it actually helpful on reading details on apps installed. Giving it admin permission does bother me, but its permanent.

I would guess that for it to interact with other apps or system services it would need admin.
Works fine here on exynos s9 after update. Had bought the original app and they gave me a voucher for the new one.
It works for me but it does look hacky. It acts as a device administrator, like what a corporation might give you as a condition of using the LAN. It can not modify or uninstall apps but it can refuse their use. I would have returned my S9+ if not for this app. Samsung ads were constantly popping up even after two days of trying to get rid of them. The phone was unusable until the bloat was disabled.

It's just a UI for the adb uninstall commands, but backs them up so you can restore them, even the uninstall adb commands don't really uninstall them, you need root for that
working just fine for me, responsive developer (email them and give me the serial number from previous apps.), and no malicious problem here. all green
What apps are recommended to uninstall?
I'm checking now and I can hardly believe how much crap came with this phone. No wonder I couldn't get it to work before. Essentially, I disabled anything that was:
- Running in the background or using data even though I don't use it
- Popping up advertisements (all Samsung apps)
- Location spyware like weather apps and dynamic keyguards
- Bixby everything
- No chance of being needed (this will vary greatly by person)

To the op: it needs internet for two reasons. To connect with knox servers to allow the app to do what it does, that's Samsung's requirement. And to verify the license for the actual app, to prevent piracy.
And for why it's not working... You didn't really describe what's happening, so we can't help you... But i mean, a lot of people have a great experience with PDP for samsung devices... I can only assume its user error... Maybe you refuse to Grant it permissions, have a device that's restricted with knox by your employer, or you're rooted (or were)...

And for the Samsung Experience Service, you must be using a third party launcher, because that's essentially touchwiz.
As for Google, don't quite see the benefit of disabling that. It's where google assistant is, and hardly does anything at all in the background.
Otherwise, great list.
Tip for everyone, after disabling apps, run a logcat (google "adb log cat" or download the cat log app) and just look for the words "error", "warning", "failed, "doesn't exist", and "found"... The more time you see any of those, more than likely that means more resources wasted because of missing packages. (Services call on other services, and they tend to cause tantrums when they don't get a response)... Probably a good idea to also do it before disabling anything, to establish a baseline.
I disabled the annoying app that kept asking me to sign up for Knox services. I don't think there's any means to disable Knox itself since it's part of the bootloader. There are plenty of errors spewing in logcat but they all appear to be sloppy code rather than any specific problem.
Nova Launcher Prime replaces Samsung Experience.
Google Search is disabled because I'm not using the search bar and it seems to pre-fetch a LOT in the background. I'm not a fan of Google cross-linking everything in inappropriate ways so I'm not using their apps.
MailDroid Pro replaces Email and GMail.
I noticed that Google now spams your phone's GMail account asking you to use Google apps. There's no opt-out, of course.

Any diference with AdHell 3 when disabling the apps? I'm using AdHell (is free), but I'd like to know if the uninstallation performed by PD is deeper.

Package Disabler pro on samsung devices also uses Knox, it uses adb for non-samsung devices.

Well right on, you've got your replacement apps. I couldn't do that personally (even before i got hooked on Google Assistant).
And you can turn off a LOT of the pre-fetching, and the cross linking that the Google app and others do, but of course there will always be some (web and app activity in google account. Others in the google app, like contacts, calendar, call logs, sms, etc)
I'd be interested to know how your battery life compares, because while the Google apps can be... Busy... They do their business in pretty light-weight ways.

Oct Security Update removed ability to install second instance of app?

A little backstory: As most of you probably know, you are/were able to run up to 4 instances of most apps on your phone. One download from Play Store, one from Galaxy Store, then repeat inside Secure Folder. Obviously with apps like Facebook, you could also use the Dual Messenger feature to run yet another instance.
I'm assuming the October update broke that feature, as I was prompted to update Pokemon Go today (I manage four accounts on one device) and it wouldn't let me update because it's already installed. At the time the issue store, I could access 3 instances that were already up-to-date (both Play Stores and one Galaxy Store). Thinking it was just a glitch, I uninstalled the working Galaxy Store version and tried to reinstall. Would not install, citing that it's already installed. So I uninstalled one Play Store download. Same thing.
In conclusion, I went from four working versions to three, and finally two (one from each store).
So my question is: has anyone else come across this issue AND does anyone have a workaround/solution?
My first thought would be to just downloads the updated APKs via a mirror, but I don't know the phone decides whether to overwrite or install a second instance (that is, how does it install the second instance and is there a way to force it to do that instead of overwriting?) I've also considered downgrading, but I'm on a Snapdragon phone and I /do/ want to stay as updated as I can.
I know it seems like such a minor thing, but it's pretty important to me to be able to manage my accounts on the fly without extra devices or constant logging in/out.
