Hi,
I recently updated to Android 5.0, but now I have an extreme battery drain. While it should be in deep sleep (cannot see, because its not rooted yet), the battery will hold for a bit more than 1 day. On Kitkat it was nearly a week with same apps installed and usage.
Is it possible to downgrade from 5.0 back to 4.4.?
Or has anyone an idea concerning the battery drain?
Battery statistics show "Android OS" as battery drainer.
Thanks,
Butch
It has been said countless time allready, you CAN'T downgrade.
You can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/memo-pad-7/help/memopad-7-me572-recovery-lollipop-t3288702 but you would to get the files needed for ME176CX yourself.

Hi,
I am on 4.4 and have horrible battery time. It last less than 12 hours with about 2.x screen-on time. I've turned off wake-lock on almost all battery time. Yet CPU spy says deep sleep is only 13% of time.
Most of the tool requires root on 4.4. Yet I can't root my device.
I am wondering if I should go back to 4.2.
1. What's the battery life comparison b/w 4.2 and 4.4?
2. Under 4.2, without root, are there tools allow me to find out what is eating my battery?
Thanks
So I've been having TERRIBLE battery life with practically every rom I run ever since everyone jumped shipped to Lollipop. I could obviously switch back to Kitkat and downgrade my firmware, but I'd rather stay on Lollipop.
Is there any fix for the poor battery life? Even everyone I know with unrooted M7's on AT&T have been experiencing awful battery life since the carrier pushed the update to all phones.
Clear battery cache and install any battery boosting app it may worke☺
I'm on Viper One and it's working great.
2-3% drain over night.
I can get about 5-8hrs of screen time.
about 2-3hrs to fully charge

If i can get those stats I will be super happy. Which version of VIperOne are you running? 9.0? The last Viper Rom I ran was 8.0 and it was ok at best on my phone.
if you solved you problem please give me some clue

Recently my Z battery began to drain extremely quick even while the screen was off with wifi/mobile data disabled.
In battery usage, Android OS is draining 57~69% of the battery, while Screen is only 2%. (?)
This started to happen when I was on 4.4.4 Stock NCB, flashed into 5.1.1 lollipop, after some hours of usage it started to quickly drain battery again, but this time instead of Android OS, Media process was consuming 60%. The phone is running without microSD.
I already full wiped it and hard reset, using 4.4.2 kiktkat stock now, after some hours of usage again, same ****. Android OS draining the whole battery...
Also calibrated the battery..no results..
Does someone know whats going on? Thanks!

Android System on Z @ 5.11 drains about 15-20% of the battery which is too much. I should reflash the rom and wipe everything but I'm too lazy. It's related to the included packages like MHL, Bravia engine, location, etc. maybe someone will find what component is draining the battery, if I have time I'll compare in detail with the Z3 which uses about 5-6% battery on android system
Guys, just asking for those already running EMUI 5 build on Huawei P9, have you guys face problem such as battery drain very fast? My P9 battery draining very fast until I have to charge OR bring my powerbank with me all the time. Is it the latest build caused the battery run fast? or there are something wrong with my phone?
Start by checking third party apps, my battery is great, it's the first phone I've had that I don't really think about charging, it gets through the day every day with heavy use.

don't use beta build if u are not willing to receive bugs
Check the battery logs for imonitor. I had high battery usage by this process - it may be that the beta has higher analytics so that's using more battery (and therefore should be fixed for full release).
Do you have root?
If you do, install that: http://www.onexuan.com/battery/
Or, pro version (you know what to do if you have root): http://www.opgpro.com/
If you don't have a root, play a bit with: Settings\Advanced Settings\Battery Manager\Protected Apps - Put "some" or all to sleep when screen is off...
Same here... Even with power saving mode enabled
Hi had issues with the battery on mine but I think it was down to being rooted and some other software that was on it. Since flashing it back to stock the battery life is so much better. Easily gets through a day now.
Can Phone Manager be silent battery killer? It closes all apps (except protected) when you turn off screen and you have to relaunch them again. I've read in multiple sources that you shouldn't be closing manually apps because in newer Androids RAM management is great and closing/opening again apps will consume more battery that just leaving them be?
P9 battery is damaged after 6 months here. Also a small spot appeared behind the back of my screen. Send it to warranty. They said the battery bloated inside and was pushing in the screen. Replaced both battery and screen. It seems there is a huge battery problem with all p9....
I'm running EMUI 4.1.1 and the battery drain is real.
Left it at 100% charge when I went to bed yesterday and when I woke up this morning battery percentage had already decreased by 12% (88% charge left). That's insane.
My OP3T currently has 3.5.4 and the battery drains so quickly and those hours remaining, I think it's a lie, I have 23% left and it says 5 hours left, after a few minutes, its just 20%, just browsing thru wifi.
Does the ver3.5.3 have this battery drain problems or previous versions, cause if not I'm planning to downgrade.
PS: I didnt receive any Nougat update YET.
Anyone?
i cud trace the battery drainage issue in 3.5.4 to settings > ambient display
keeping it off solved my battery issues

Hi
This issue seems to be known with 3.5.4 if you do some research.
Downgrading to 3.5.3 is commonly solving it...
Don't know about 4.0, seems to be a lot of threads opened on it where advices are 50/50,so, waiting is maybe a reasonable solution before upgrading.
Sent from my OnePlus3T using XDA Labs
i had with oos 3.5.3 about 8 hours sot (only twrp and root) so i would recommend that version.
im currently on a clean 4.0.0 and cant say anything about battery yet. ill wait some days and report back if you want
3.5.3. most definately!
