I've completed a fair bit of googling and found a number of questionable replacement batteries. Ideally I would buy an ASUS OEM battery, but it seems like many websites are selling knock offs instead.
Anyone with a good experience finding a suitable replacement battery? The newpower99 kit seems okay, but it's a bit pricey for a 3rd party option

I bought one , would discharge quicker than the bad battery. Asked for and received a replacement for the first battery. They both discharged quicker than the bad battery.
In fairness, my replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy 10 worked like a champ

I had poor experience on the Samsung Fascinate with replacement batteries. The "genuine" batteries on Amazon were just knockoffs with fake labels. This might require calling ASUS for a supplier.
I got a "genuine" one off Amazon with prime shipping for under $20. Replacement was a snap. I actually didn't "need" a new battery as the USB port was the culprit, but it was a genuine OEM battery and it held up just fine.

I've ordered a new battery from China, easy to install and you can do a little customization like reconnecting the ribbons cables inside to make it work like new. The new battery give me longer time to use and the same time to charge.

Hi. Thanks for the guide.
A question: In the Amazon kit, is there the additional tool to remove the cover or not?
Thanks.
you don't really need a kit, the cover is easy to remove, I've just used a knife. With all those videos that explain how to do it, it's kid's play. I thought it would be a big deal but no ,it's a super easy job. Just a sharp knife for the start and a butter knife to continue removing the cover... if you order the more expensive american kit, it has some plastic tools.
before changing the battery, just run the app named battery life repair, run it and see if it help.
As to charging speed, I've seen this week that it can depend of the wires, I have 2 asus wires and others, and only 1 will give me a decent charging amperage with the asus 2 amp charger. You can check this out with the app AMPERE

Those batteries aren't the same at all ... They are cheap knockoffs with probably half the rated capacity.
I bought mine at a verizon store. After I updated to 5.6.890 I monitored batt life. Had 40% @29th hour from the first full charge (had 70% when I bought it). Wrote it down, but can't find the stat. I was trying for 48hr. Fell short by 4 or 6 hrs.? Played XGalaxy2, Txt, Email, Tweaking, little broswering. lol . I'm using a live wallpaper now so thats using energy. ps. debloated.

I agree. Get the one from Verizon. You need the new battery door. I'm using one since I received the phone, still don't get anywhere near the rated phone specifications of 300 hours standby/550minutes usage. However, the battery does make a difference for me.
The inductive charger is also a nice accessory and works with the extended battery.

I just ordered a genuine Motorola 1930mAh battery; I've heard too many bad things about the generics and knock-offs to buy one of those. I would avoid them.
Can you buy genuine Motorola batteries for D3 that are bigger than 1930mAh (I mean bigger power-wise, not physically)?

It doesn't state that it comes with a new battery door... were you able to fit your battery cover on your phone with your new BF6X batterY??
or does anyone else who purchased a similar item know?
You can fit the battery in under the stock cover
but if you live in a hot area there wont be room for the battery to expand and that could cause problems

A battery of that size and capacity won't expand than the thickness of a sheet of paper. If it expands noticablly, you'd be facing a serious risk of explodsion whether if you're using the extended back or not.

No, they're not genuine and will very likely not be true capacity.
If you're looking for a standard capacity aftermarket battery I would highly recommend these..
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B208QDU/
I use them every single day as I just keep 3 batteries charged via a external wall charger and just swap batteries when needed instead of leaving phone plugged in. They last as long as my genuine battery does.
As mentioned above though, If you want an external you cant beat the ZeroLemon
PS. In future please use search, We already have plenty of eBay/battery topics so you could have just replied to one of them or read them and not needed to. Opening topics like this just adds to an already cluttered forum.
Not to sound like Anker fan-boy lol!!!, but www.amazon.co.uk/Anker®-3100mAh-Battery-Samsung-GT-N7100/dp/B009OWLTLO/ - those are highly reliable and on US amazon have hundreds of 5-star reviews. Actually, I prefer their 2x battery + wall charger combo for $25: www.amazon.com/3100mAh-Batteries-T-Mobile-Cellular-EB595675LA/dp/B009SYL6C0/ - convenient to use one while charging the other one and swap it. I never had issues with them and reviewed all of their batteries, internal and external. Just so people wouldn't think that I'm biased because i review a lot of their stuff, just go to US Amazon and search for their products, typically hundreds and sometime thousands of 5-star reviews for their external batteries and internal batteries.

Can You test it with Nova Battery Tester, and provide results?

I haven't had any luck with aftermarket batteries other than Zero Lemon and Samsung official. All the off brand ones I bought suffered battery drain issues after a couple of weeks.
I'd like to get an extra battery for my Camera 2, but it doesn't even appear that Samsung offers one. Anyone have any recommendations for a 3rd-party battery? I'd prefer to get one that comes with an external charger since I've been burned (literally) when charging 3rd-party Li-Ion batteries in my devices in the past.
Edit: I'm leaving this up because someone may find it of use, but I found the genuine Samsung BP2000 battery at B&H Photo for $30 along with the Samsung BC4GC2 charging cradle for $25. Even the 3rd-party batteries from China on eBay are $25. Don't know why the Samsung website doesn't sell its own batteries/chargers, but....
Excuse me as I reply to myself, but just to let everyone know the advertised OEM Samsung battery at B&H Photo is definitely the genuine thing, and despite reports to the contrary the Samsung battery charger does work with the BP2000 battery. Definitely a nice setup, and I'm glad I went this route. It's nice to have everything OEM and not too terribly expensive.

I carry one spare OEM battery for my LG G4.
I don't find myself having to swap out very often, but I know it's always there in case Murphy shows up, which he does once in awhile.
I've carried one spare battery with any phone I've had over the years.
Ultimately, how many spares if any you carry, depends on your usage & comfort level.

I purchased an LG G4 OEM battery on eBay from this seller approx. 1 month ago:
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=201384473911&alt=web
I've been very satisfied with this battery and my communications with the seller. There were two manufacturing dates available from which I was able to choose from.
I've purchased several OEM batteries on eBay from various sellers for various phones over the years. You have to research the seller, descriptions, etc. carefully when purchasing OEM batteries on eBay, as there are many counterfeit batteries out there.
How has battery life been for your G4? My battery life was okay but I’ve ordered a replacement battery for my G4 and will let you guys know where I like/hateit.
Hmm... I don't have a spare battery. I have a power pack that I use sometimes. But, honestly, my G4 lasts all day unless I'm off Wifi and using data ALL day.
None
I have three batteries total, two spare. I never need all three unless I'm lazy and don't charge the second one. I rarely even need one spare, only when I'm using my phone a lot or doing a lot of tweaking to it.. With amplify, greenify, and other small location tweaks, I get about 16-18 hrs of use with about 2.5-4 hrs sot depending. I also have to use gps/google maps for work so that's why I get less sot on those days.
I don't carry any spare batteries. Never have with any of my phones.

I've been trying to get rid of the battery, charger and 32gb sd card from the promo for months. They are all still in the original shipping package. I ask that whoever wants it pay shipping at the very least. If you want to kick a few bucks in thats great too. I don't have the phone anymore, returned it during buyers remorse but it sucks having these things sitting here when someone can use them.

Anyone know which aftermarket standard size battery is the best? I've seen hyperion which is decent brand and I've never heard of trend on. I bought anker for my note 3 and was really happy with them. Can any one point me in the right direction?
I have 1 spare original battery, but hardly use it
I have a spare with charger, but I haven't really needed it much. I usually only need extra power while traveling, but even then, between the reasonably fast charging and a 3200mA Anker power pack that I occasionally break out, I haven't needed to power down to swap.
I have one original battery and 3 trend on replacement batteries bought from amazon. I travel a lot and love taking a ton of pictures with this amazing camera when I am. I noticed that my original oem battery last a bit longer than my trend on batteries do, but not by much. with that said I usually go through all three batteries by 11pm-12am starting my day off around 7 or 8am having to use my 4th and last battery if need be to last for another 3-4 hours of moderate use until we get back to the hotel. and constant, heavy use GPS navigation web searches, hundreds of pictures and HD video recording. Loving everything about this phone.
I got my g4 gently used and it came with two standard batteries PLUS a free mugen 6200. The mugen is awesome gets at least 11hrs screen time.

The ones on Amazon are 99% fake knock offs which risk fire. Any story you have read online about a phone catching fire is usually either a result of a cheap knock off battery or adapter.
The only two places that have Note 4 batteries still are 100% legit.
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB-BN910BBUSTA
and the Best Buy kit I posted earlier in the thread. Anywhere else is questionable.
If a big box store gets them like B & H they will be legit too.
Amazon's inventory has been proven to be compromised. Several have posted online about their batteries even "shipped and sold by amazon" had been clones.
In case you didnt know this happens often on Amazon. The SD Card market and perfume market on Amazon even from Amazon is also like this.
I'm using the Zerolemon 10000mah battery, also if there is a Batteries+ they stock standard replacement batteries for most phones.
Im very happy with Anker bought on Amazon.

I would recommend the one from Anker, same capacity as OEM from a reputable brand that makes batteries. It also comes with 18 month warranty and a bit cheaper than OEM one. If you still want the OEM one make sure it is shipped and sold by Amazon.com and you should be fine.

1 battery can last me one day, sometimes down to 30 percent, depends on what I am doing, other times, down to 20 and under.. but it makes the day, then I swap and use the other, but only when it drains to 1 2 or 3...
they are better than all these knock off, I think I paid $31.. but they are better than all my old ones put together, wait till my wife come back from vacation, she will definitely take 1, then I will have 4 old batteries. then I have to test the old batteries and anything that shuts down from 20 or 15 percent is getting retired, junked out..

I just Re-read your post, you did say that. Well I got (hopefully) the same thing, I think I paid $32 to be exact. Fingers crossed.
I'm waiting on these in the mail. I wonder if they will be good? Ebay item 201375415018 How would I tell if they are fakes?
I'm waiting for my anker package with 2 batteries and an external charger myself.
I read in another thread, they blame the quick charge 2.0 puck for damaging the batteries. Saying the increase voltage pushed to the battery for fast charging is what kills the life of the battery.
So my question is, those who have replaced Samsung with aftermarket batteries, are you still charging at night with the Samsung qc2.0? Or just using a 1amp or 2amp charger?
Help appreciated.
Mostly use the old 2A charger to prolong battery longevity. Need a quick boost? Adaptive fast charger or turbo charger from moto.
I unlocked your mum's bootloader.
Well I disabled fast charge option on the phone so it should be charging at a "normal" rate now and not the high voltage charging.
So far these anker batteries seem excellent, at least compared to my very degraded original samsung batteries. A deal for 2 Batts and a external charger Imho.
The more I use regular charging, my battery appears to improve and return to normal. All this only supports my reservation towards devices with sealed batteries.
