Hello,
i have got some music files ( 24-bit 48 kHz), each of which is around 50 mb. After the files are opened through Samsung music player, i can listen them without any problem for 5 seconds. Then, the player notifies "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file", and shuts them down
I have checked the spec of the phone. It should be supporting any type of flac file. considering it is N920C, what do you suggest me to open them?
thanks in advance.

so figured it out- neither tunewiki nor music will read the id3 tags from WMA files-
problem is most of my music has been ripped to WMA format due to it being smaller than MP3-
So i have 3 options:
1. convert the WMA files to OGG format
2. rerip all the albums to OGG
3. find a decent player that recognises WMA ID3 tags
any help with any of these would be much appreciated.
thanks
Looks like it's time to rerip.
As much as I say go open source, why not rerip in MP3? Granted it may be a somewhat aging codec (and patent-encumbered), but it's a de-facto standard that is guaranteed to work on almost any device that plays digital music.
I've a lot of good old game music related ringtones in MIDI format and as a long time Nokia user I've had great moments listening those tracks while doing something else with my phone.
Now coming to android and somewhat being okay with the poor MIDI playback compared to Nokia, I haven't found a single way to listen to MIDI tracks background. Only way, on stock, I seem to be able to listen MIDI tracks is by opening them via "My Files" and opening MIDI track, which opens a "Sound Player" to play it. Now it's playing, but I cannot lose focus on the player or otherwise MIDI playback stops.
Somehow possible in stock software? Or maybe some 3rd party app?
i use PLAYER media player, and it plays all my mp3 and MIDI files in the background

Thanks AllGamer, I will definately check that out soon.
Edit: Tested and it works as expected when opening MIDI files within Player. When opening from My Files the MIDI track opens in Player but cannot be left background, I guess that's just something to do with that the My Files launched Player application and is somehow acting as a "host" application, but this is a total guess.
But it doesn't matter as I will open MIDI tracks within Player. Thanks again AllGamer.
so i plugged in my sansa clip+ mp3 player into my tab and upon disconnection all of my music was put into a folder on the mp3 player called lost.dir. The names are random numbers and have no extension but if i open them with a music player they work. Is there any way that i can reverse this?
Hey,
Lately I've downloaded some new songs to my Galaxy Note 5 and I noticed that some of my songs don't appear in the music player (Samsung's music player).
When I double checked, it's seems that the music player can contain up to 600 songs only.
I tried to download some other music players (DoubleTwist, Black Player), but it didn't fix it.
I asked my friend, who's own Galaxy Note 4, and he said that he's not familier with this kind of problem. In fact, he showed me that his Note 4's music player is containing up to 2500 songs.
I checked the songs' format and it's all mp3 (I can play them through "My Document" with no problem at all).
What else can be the problem? Is there any chance that my Galaxy is limited with the amount of songs he can play through music players?
Maybe is there a problem with the last software update?
Thanks a lot for you help.
Use an app to re-scan your media. I have over 1323 tracks without any problem.

Hi,
Upgraded to the S10 and as I have my own music collection, opposed to using Spotify etc. I have various file extensions to play. With the new phone I wanted to give Samsung Music a try as i liked the look of it and because it should be able to play most, if not all audio files. Unfortunately Samsung Music won't play some of my .m4a files.
I checked if the files are protected in Windows Explorer - Details and they don't.
If it matters I have the files stored on an SD card in /mu/..
I've tried Foobar2000 which is the player I used on the old phone and it plays the files with no problems.
Solved: Found out it only supports .m4a files with AAC and not ALAC.
Sorry this won't help you but ive noticed the samsung player has been stripped of all it's features
No more tube amp more more concert hall no more surround only crappy Dolby.very disappointed oh and the edge lighting has gone i loved that So if you like music don't buy the s10
