So this is a first time I had this weird issue. My nexus 6 isn't allowing me to copy larger than 4GB file via MTP. I have made sure it's not my pc tested on a laptop as well.
I am running AOSiP-V1.0.1-Marshmallow-[11.01.15]. The kernel is rom default & have checked via TWRP my data partition is EXT4 & I can copy any other file(<4GB) normally., just not larger than 4GB. My phone is decrypted.
Meanwhile I know I can use adb &or wifi but speeds aren't comparable to MTP. So what's going one? Any ideas?
4gb is the limit that you can copy

Umm sorry but is it nexus only limit? Because I have owned Htc One X,One M7 and Note 4. But never had any issues.

neither of those are nexus, so you cant really compare :silly:
Yeah I guess I wasn't ready to admit such a nice device could have such a limitation. Thanks anyway.
Isn't 4gig the old FAT32 file size limit ?

The latest official Dell Streak 7 Wifi only files are very hard to track down now-a-days. Everything I find is either missing from the host, or is now a link to spam. I can't say what happened to the files I used to have. I must have deleted them (dummy).
Does anyone have the latest stock wifi only files? Can I get a link? I'll save them this time I swear!

Thanks. Got everything running, except the external sdcard apparently isn't mounted. Anyone got a link for that? I'm up to 514, if that matters. I remember something about changing the vfolds.tabs, but that didn't seem to change anything.

That explains why it doesn't work.
I'm trying the process over, to see if I can get the sdcard to recognize. Currently I have flashed back to 2.2, but the camera still doesn't see the external card. Is this the "read only" issue that I've seen a bit about?
EDIT: Re-flashed 2.2 Froyo, went through set-up, mounted internal and external sdcards. Upped to 3.2 (506), checked camera and it worked. Upped to 3.2 (514), checked camera and it works.
I think I'm done screwing with this... for now anyway.
No, "read-only" means your device will no longer boot or can be flashed.
i wanted to know if anyone knows a way to get it to work on sense 5.5, it worked fine on sense 5 but once i update the app for my osx couldn't find the device. any ideas????

i hzve been searching for this exact thing!!!!! omg!!!
I am looking to extract the files from the factory images.
Specifically the bootloader.img file and radio.img file.
I've looked everywhere I can think to figure it out and it will not mount no matter what I try.
I am running Ubuntu as my daily so linux tools are very welcome.
Just looking to learn what I can. I am new to the Nexus but not to dev work.
Thanks for your time
You are looking to get the bootloader and radio .imgs from the factory image download? Or you want to open the bootloader and radio.imgs to edit them?

Looking to open the bootloader.img and radio.imgs.
Thanks.
I am not sure what their formats are either ext4.img or yaffs, neither of which you can mou t that im aware of. There are tools i believe that can extract them, unyaffs/umyaffs2 or simg2img. There is also a possibility that they are encrypted and you won't be able to open them. I don't really have any experience with bootloaders or radios so I probably can't be much help.
Mind if I ask what your goal is by opening them?

just looking to examine them...curiosity.
Its my first nexus device.
you can mount an ext4.img in linux and simg2img wont do anything with it neither will yaffs
im not sure what the format is either.
I've been digging around all the files just to get familiar with them before I start to try to do any kind of work with it.
They are probably both encrypted. You won't need to do anything with either of those when working with Android on a nexus though

I just need to make sure I extract all of the relevant files for the bootloader.

You won't find documentation for that anywhere, people who develop that must sign very heavy NDAs.
This is the justly closed source part of the phones.

That figures. I guess since it was a nexus device I assumed there was a way.
Thanks anyways.
Pulled this from DP4. Not sure if this will be the official bootanimation they go with but for now that's all I got to go on. This is not a flashable zip. So you'll need to copy and paste with a root browser apk to the appropriate location.
For those of you who don't know its in::::
system/media
1.----just rename the one that's there by adding " .BBB" all that does is make it unrecognizable by the system so it doesn't use it but if something goes wrong or you just want to change back its there to rename back to the original name.
2.----copy and paste this zip file from wherever you downloaded it, to system/media
3.----change permissions to rw-r--r--
4.----click the thanks button here.
5.----click your buddies thanks button. No not his,,,,hers.
6.----reboot and stare in amazement. Or however you slow motion stare at something.

So basically if you're rooted you won't ever see it since you have to update via fastbooting factory images anyway.

Feel embarrassed to ask but... How does one download this file on mobile? When I open the link it displays the file name, if I click the download icon it offers to open with Google Drive, and then immediately with ES Zip Explorer or FX.
Chrome
