Just flashed the beats zip in ICS works great I didn't think there was gonna be a change but gave it a shot I was blown away by the sound quality
Sent from My AWESOME Droid 3
Trying it on DarkDroid right now.
ps: I'm having a error code when trying to flash it. It accuses some kind of argument error (expected 3, found 4), operation aborted. So I'm copying/pasting it inside /system
edit1: booting correctly with DarkDroid, but I didn't "feel" anything different. I'll try again once I get my PortaPros back
apparently theres been problems getting this to work from the thread i posted heres the flashable zip i downloaded and flashed
I flashed this over Mavrom, not sure i hear a difference or not through speaker on the phone but everything seems to work correctly.
Running MavROM 3.5 w/ safeboot; flashed this zip w/o error, but when I checked the system folder the files were not there. I placed them manually, rebooted, and the difference is definetly noticeable.
Edit: I flashed the zip from the original source, not the one attached in this thread
I just copied all onto /system , rebooted, got into safestrap and fixed permissions
M3 XT860
DarkDroid 1.1 (Unsafe) + Hash's ICS Beta 1 (Safe)
I really noticed the difference when I hooked it in to the speakers, car, and head phones our phone speaker isn't equipped to provide the quality this mod offers

Has any on tried this on other roms?

Alright done, however I still feel like I did something wrong. Can't notice a difference. Is there anything visibly different? Like is there a setting that should be enabled or something?
Its only an equalizer really. Will only notice a real big diff with really good headphones
Sent from my XT862 using Tapatalk
I guess what I'm trying to ask is this: is the equalizer adjustable? Is there somewhere I can see it and change it?
I have Klipsch Image S4s so I don't think headphone quality is a problem.

The headphones don't have to be really good but u probably shouldn't be looking for a difference with really cheap ones I have some Panasonic ones that only cost 14 bucks and I can hear a big difference in those,/ the biggest difference though is the car or speakers.... there's no visual difference only audible the software equalizes the music for you to get the best sound from each song so there's no need for a manual equalizer
Also are u intslling it manually? Cuz the zip I posted is a flashable one

Ahhhh ok I see now. I flashed it, but like the others, I didn't see any of the files in /system or the subfolders. I took the advice of an above poster and just copied everything (except META-INF) into the respective folders then went into safestrap and fixed permissions.
I'm not a huge audiophile so it may be different, but my ears may not recognize it. Is it because I'm used to using DSP Manager within CM9? I usually have the "Rock" equalizer set and the Bass Booster on the mid setting.
I've never used the DSP IN ICS. So I couldn't tell you if it sounds different from that I just know that from the stock ics with no equalizing was a considerable step down from the beats audio mod

Has anyone here used PowerAmp before and compared this to tuning though PowerAmp's EQ?
Also, just from looking in the .zip, there SHOULDN'T be anything found in /system/app as there is no .apk included.
I copied the files manually and I think, there there is a noticable difference. On My Milestone 2 and Droid 3 the volume didn't raise more at the last 3 steps of the volume bar. Now, especially with a headset plugged in there is a much louder sound, so loud that it hurts.
Does anyone have 2 Droid 3's and can do a comparison? Maybe with a db-meter app?
I use it with winamp and the sound difference is much better, the bass is more clear and the treble is clear. Before it sounded like one was fighting with another not anymore. I'm using Gogroove bluetooth headphones to due to my headphone jack not working.
The updater script doesn't seem to mount system. For those having trouble flashing, mount /system manually(mounts and storage>mount /system)

can you help me install them on samsung galaxy tab 2 7" 4.1.1
I try install some another beats audio for samsung, but result sound is not better or sound no change.
even i buy Beat Audio Pro on google play, them is very bad, sound not better.
I see only 2 file that above is best. Sound very nice. that's real beats audio by dre.
Thanks

My best guess is that they were built around the Sony platform. Anytime you flash something meant for one phone onto a completely different one, you definitely run the risk of breaking something! I will try looking at the files later and see what's up, but I'm leaning towards a comparability issue.
Just to give you more info.. the phones with built in Beats original programming have more than software. There's hardware to make it work as well. So software alone will not get you what you want. However, there are plenty of other options.
I use this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923630
It's not the original Beats, but it works pretty good! It's a universal sound enhancement mod that is compatible with the Tab2. It may be just what you're after for improved sound quality.

I thought Boom Sound was supposed to be mini speaker loud? I notice the Beats Audio logo but my volume hasn't been spectacular. Is there a setting I'm missing, perhaps?
The example of use:
This morning, the new Man Of Steel trailer dropped and I was attempting to show off to my co-worker but it just wasn't very audible. Only air conditioning was blowing so we were pretty disappointed. You Tube streamed the trailer fine it just wasn't loud. We tried my Play Music and it wasn't loud either.
The HTC One is firmly in the VERY LOUD category.
Too loud in many instances. Have you, like, turned all volume controls up in settings?

I agree with you 100 percent we had an iPhone fanboy I was trying to showed off also and he wasn't impress ...I started another thread you can search for it and people are saying the htc capped the volume on 1.29 update and the 1.27 firmware is the loudest ...ofcourse say that to the htc one fanboy lol ...it amaze me there are dumb people can't understand what you are saying ..oh well you correct tho there are some of us that knownabout these issues on the htc one. ...by the way don't let me get started in the in call speaker volume ..not loud at all... Perhaps we need to flash 1.27..I bought this phone thinking it will blow me away on the volume dept guess not lol

I was wondering the same thing. I have not been blown away by the speakers on this phone. I got the 1.29 update almost immediately after the first boot so there is no way for me to know what it was like before that. Have you managed to find a workaround or a way to go back or enable the full volume of the speakers???
I'm not saying this is the case for everyone, but for me at least my volume and sound quality were both excellent with 1.27 and 1.29. I often put my phone down while playing music and it fills the room. It's still miles better than my friends s4 and zl. I have to think though that even if some are having volume issues (perhaps the notorious QC issues don't just apply to the build quality), at least you're still gaining the huge advantage of stereo vs mono sound

Someplace, and I forget which forum this was in, a guy found the values needed in order to revert the sound back to as loud as before the HTC update. It was in either Faux123s kernel thread, the ARHD thread, or, Trickdroids thread. I'd advise scanning those. The only thing I remember about the post was it said change the values from 40/40 to 45/45 instead of 60/60 like some guy asked if he could do.
Or maybe that video just had very low volume anyway? Youtube video volumes are NOT normalized and if the vid was soft to being with, Youtube will just stick with that max volume. Nothing you can do with it.
Boomsound is advertised to not only be loud, but to be full as well without the screeching highs and nonexistent lows of other devices.
I've seen a couple zips around the forum for BoomSound I havnt tried them yet but I'll see if I can find em and post them here

I would backup before trying these so you can restore if it has negative affects or if you want to try both.the improved BoomSound is a little smaller than the first file

doesn't make any difference flashing either one over 4.2.2
The zips contain /system/tfa folder from 1.27.xx builds which were based on 4.1.x hence it reverts to same sound on future 1.29.xx builds when flashed
However, in 4.2.2 these files are different and since we do not have any LOUD firmware from 4.2.2 nothing to replace ...we are stuck with what htc gives

Hello Everyone,
I would like to share with you'll a Sound Mod that will bring a Magical music listening experience on CyanogenMod12.1/AOSP Roms. This Mod will effect the entire audio system of the phone (Calls, Music, Videos, External speakers). This Mod has been my daily drive since last 2years and glad it does well for Moto G3 too.
This thread is just a consolidation of procedure suited well for Moto G3 . All credits to the developers linked in original thread. Tested working fine on CM12.1 nightly dated 20151030 and Motorola's Stock ROM.
So here you go, "ExtremeBeats SoundFx with Viper plugin".
Requirments: ExtremeBeats, Viper4Android, SElinuxChanger, TWRP/CWM Recovery.
Precautions: Disable any other Mod or Audiofx you been using before you proceed. Else things may conflict and not work as intended.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any Soft/Hard Brick. Though this has been tested working fine by me, failing to comply with the procedure might result in mess. Try at your own risk.
Original Thread: ExtremeBeats , Viper4Android and SelinuxChanger
Steps:
Download "ExtremeBeats v4.0 Muses.zip" (Recommended Version) from Original thread and flash it via recovery.
Download "SElinux Changer". Open it and change SeLinux mode to permissive.
Download and install "Viper4Android" (version 2.3.3.0 recommended). Open it and install drivers. Make a Normal Reboot (No quick reboot).
Download Equalizer profiles attached in the attachment. Unzip the contents to Internal Storage. (These are Viper EQ profiles customized by me).
Load Effect profile of your choice (Vj Multiplex recommended). Enjoy Magical Music experience. Cheers..!
UPDATE : For Marshmallow, the viper profile path is different from lollipop. Follow the new path

Yes it will work on other ROMs based on CyanogenMod.
Extreme Beats is not an app. Its a set of audio libraries that control the sound system of the phone. This gets flashed onto your system. Viper is an equaliser app that goes best to enhance the power of extreme beats. So only viper will be visible in app drawer.
its working & what is the best IRS for your EQ Profile?
the sound on my sony headphones is to low with viper i dont know why. I use dolby atmos and dolby for a good high volume

IRS is set in my eq profile. Just load the downloaded profile. And DDC I haven't set bcz sound effect varies across different earphone makers. I use SoundMagic ES18 earphones. Going good. But the earphones that come with Yu Yureka cyanogen phone are superior and mind blowing. Give it a try if you get it.

is all good says suported and yes and i tried with extremebeats extreammusic to and nothing the sound is low when start to processing the bass is just put down all volume and i tried my headphones on an ipod and pc and a samsung and the sound is loud (more onde ipod and the pc) but when i use the dolby the sound y loud and clear but i like the option that viper give to work the audio.
Then I guess those earphones are not compatible with moto g3.
I have noticed this case. Certain earphones don't commonly suit all and instead suit only specific phones. Particularly the Samsung earphones I faced having compatibility issues.

And what earphones, in ear, or headphones do you recomend for me? im from argentina and have to be some common brand like sony, sneheiser, phillips, panasonic, or something like that
I'd say. Don't go for phone maker earphones. Because most the cases they don't go compatible across other phones.
Instead look for music edition earphones like Senheiser, SoundMagic.
I am using SoundMagic ES18. It's going very good. But the earphones from Cyanogen phone maker Yureka was excellent. Had a real feeling of sitting in a multiplex using those. Unfortunately those earphones are not available as external accessories instead are made available only with the phone.
In the end, I'd say try before buy

Ok, I can't read any more of this.....you are obviously making things up here. There is no such thing as 'incompatible headphones'....EVER. Not with this phone, not any phone, and not a single audio device which uses a 3.5mm jack. IT DOES NOT EXIST!!!! There may be issues with ones which use 2 contacts rather than 3 on the plug, but this is far from a total incompatibility. They will still work.
Please stop spreading misinformation. It's not helping anyone.

When you haven't encountered an issue doesn't mean there isn't a issue. I have tried Samsung earphones and they don't give best sound like they give with their own phones. Also iPod earphones don't go compatible , you will find drop in audio. By saying incompatible I mean they don't deliver 100% output and not that they don't totally work.
The connector etc is visually compatible. But logically not compatible.
Next time, before passing harsh comments get and anylse things first. Just because you got a tongue to blab don't do it here. At least not on the thread I run.
Give respect , take respect and be kind in your words rather being poky.

I've used apple earbuds and I've never experienced audio drop. Perhaps it's an issue with your mod then? It's definitely not an incompatibility with the hardware or the factory firmware.

Be happy with your conclusion. I am not interested in arguing. What I experienced I have shared the guy. In end I suggest the guy to try before buy.
I won't say all apple/samsung earphones would be incompatible. Because i am not that rich to get earphones of all apple models. I had an opportunity to try few earphones of different phones outta which I found some earphones go low but best with their own phones.
And if mod is the defect then I got the moto earphones too. There is no drop.
Thanks for the scene...!

There are clearly 2 differing opinions here. Whether either is right or not is unlikely to be determined here. What is of a concern is the fact that this is becoming an argument being played out in public.
So, let's get back on topic, constructively and cordially. It would be a shame to kill this thread off for all the wrong reasons.
Thanks
can i flash it to stock rom?
The sound output from the headphone jack and Bluetooth is horrible. It doesn't go loud enough nor is the bass and/or sound overall any good. Great phone. Crappy sound. If I root is it possible to somehow change the volume settings on some config file somewhere? I remember for my past android phones some manufacturers would deliberately leave sound levels low.
Any help is appreciated.
Check out viper4android. It's in the playstore. I'm running it now and its great for that.

I unlocked boot loader. Rooted. Installed viper and still can't get it to work. Viper will not work at all. Which version are you using and which options do you have enabled?

I too would love to know if this makes a difference. I've been holding back on rooting until we get cyanogenmod assuming it might fix the issue, but if this works, I'll root now. Its my only issue with the phone.

I have the standard viper4android fx. 2.3.4.0
I opened the program, had it install the driver, rebooted, opened and enabled it for the relevant modes.

You have to change SELinux to permissive mode. You may do it with SELinux Mode Changer app, but you must also disable stock audio driver and select ViperFX audio driver Enjoy!
How to disable stock audio driver?
You're DA real MVP @Fiqusny
got it to work. I must say Asus built a great phone with a **** audio chip. Thank God for viper
Is not the chip. It's one of Asus apps, called "AudioWizard" and that can be turned off very easy... Viper doesn't do any special "magic" IMO.

I do have AudioWizard off, its still feels like something is artificially softening all the noise coming out of the headphone jack when I play music. With AudioWizard on, I can get the volumes a bit higher, but usually with some kind of distortion. It makes it hard to determine if the physical chip is actually limited, or if the built in ASUS audio drivers are to blame. I'd rather wait for a custom Rom to unlock my bootloader, but I might just do it to try Viper if it truly fixes the issue without distortion.

So I did the viper thing. It made a difference. But not by much. This is the only reason I want to switch back to an HTC.
Well, probably the audio chip inside is not the best piece of hardware. For normal mp3's is probably "good enough". If you are listening to flac files, and you really want to hear them better than this you may want to look into this: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=android+dac
My personal fav is Audioquest DragonFly ver 1.2. Or you are a bass-head - HRT dSp.

That's disappointing. I find it crazy that this phone can have such bad audio hardware when all my old phones that are at least 4 years older are probably 75% louder. I mean, I know this is a "budget" kind of phone, but how much money can skimping on the audio chip possibly save them?

@SoNic67 not a big fan of carrying around extra gadgets for sound. But no I haven't been listening to flac. I should try that out and see if that makes a difference. Good idea. @CKtheProblem is right. Even my old ass blackberry has better sound. That's all that's missing. It seems like HTC is the only way to go for proper sound. Kmn.
Using Viper4Andriod FX
Tremendous Change In Audio!!
