htc one m7 stuck in bootloop - Need help very badly - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have tried installed Sky dragon rom for my HTC one m7 which brought my phone to softbricked. Phone got stuck in bootloop now. I did every thing possible and in process I have formatted the phone which took away the boot image as well. When I try to flash any rom, it will intall every thing and when goes back to twrp, it says no OS installed!
I have tried pusing the rom, install the rom from SD card and RUU. All found to be a big failure. Lately I have figured that I have used incorrect RUU file wrt CID. Hence I have changed CID number, and thought of updating hboot to 1.44 from 1.57. However, it said incorrect model id and unable to change the model ID. PFB the things I failed doing.
-> Failed installing rom from SD card, stuck in bootloop.
-> failed installing RUU from computer exe file
-> RUU from Zip - failed
-> unable to change model ID
-> unable to change hboot
-> ADB device does not show devices
Please help.

your phone is a Sprint HTC One M7
modelid should be: PN0720000
cidnum should be: SPCS_001
fix those, then flash a proper Sprint HTC One M7 full RUU
either check the Sprint forum, or @alray's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
Sprint, Verizon, and GSM variants are not interchangeable
.
PS: you sure what kind of phone you have? all the above information is somewhat contradictory

Hey thank you so much for the reply.
I believe this should be a sprint phone but I am not sure. I bought this from eBay.in as a unlocked phone.
Coming to the model ID and cid I have changed it. After unlocking bootloader I got supercid. When I was unable to install and run any rom or ruu I have tried changing cid and install ruu accordingly. But it failed due at model ID and I was unable fix that by any means.
If you are in India would mind calling me? Plz

I'm not in India, it "kinda says" my general location on the left side of the screen.
fix your MID and CID, then flash Sprint RUU, but please be sure what phone you have

not really.... changing MID, is "pretty" easy, but you have too many inconsitencies
Code:
(bootloader) version-baseband: N/A
(bootloader) version-main: 5.03.651.3
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-OFF
(bootloader) serialno: mod edit

(bootloader) product: m7_wls
(bootloader) modelid: PN072****
(bootloader) cidnum: BS_US001
M7_WLS -> would indicate Sprint HTC One M7
PN072**** -> could/should be PN0720000
CID, (to put it mildly is just wrong), the one you have indicates a US Developer Edition
MEID is all zeros, that should not be on a CDMA phone (such as Sprint) as far as I know... even if it's SIM unlocked.... i could be wrong, but I dont check on Sprint much; you might want to ask there

My cid number was not correct as mentioned above but it was super cid from the time I got the phone. The actual cid was 11111111 which I manually changed to BS_US001
Also getting connected to sprint will also be a concern as I am in India and we don't have sprint services

Why is it bricked? What did you do to it, the One is S-off with 1.44 unlocked and 1.28.491.7 software version? Sorry, but I don't understand what you are asking for exactly.

What ROM are you on?
In order to use a SIM Unlock code, you need to be on a "close-to-stock" ROM, you could use one of the Guru Resets.or restore a nandroid of your stock rom, and then use the code.

there's a full RUU for your version here: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
EDIT: OH OH, HOLD ON, i just noticed you have SuperCID "(bootloader) cidnum: 11111111" that will NOT work, what's your original CID?
EDIT 2: BTW, when you post a fastboot getvar all, remove IMEI and s/n, we don't need to see these

I really don't think a SIM-locked phone would ship as HTC__001 (WWE unbranded version), you need to set the CID back to original; if you can't remember post the country & carrier the phone is locked to (not the one you are trying to get to now, the one the phone is locked to)

how about this: set back to SuperCID, and download CIDGetter from Play Store; when CIDGetter sees SuperCID, it will pull the original CID from a second partition.
EDIT: hopefully "original" CID

HBOOT - 1.56
os - 4.21.422.2
Its Android 4.4.2 with Sense 5.5.
Phone said " There are no updates available for your phone " when you try it from phone settings.

nope, that's your bootloader screen
get this: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407585867
extract the files using WinRAR into a separate folder, open a command prompt in that folder, connect your phone, FASTBOOT will change to FASTBOOT USB, then in the command prompt type:
fastboot getvar all and post the results back (xxxxx'ing out your IMEI and s/n)

that needs to be fixed as per previous FAQ#2 (it also applies to Win8), you could also uninstall drivers and reinstall and see if that helps.

[Q] Cannot receive OTA update

Hi Guys,
I recently got my hands on a used M7 but noticed that it is still stuck in Andriod 4.1.2. I tried running the RUU but when I check for OTA updates it still says no updates available.
I also discovered that there is a label that says this is a test device, perhaps that stops the device from getting OTA updates?
Here is what I got from fastboot:
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.43.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 4A.13.3231.20
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 1.26.707.5
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-OFF

(bootloader) product: m7_ul

(bootloader) battery-voltage: 4230mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: off

It will be great if someone can help me update this device Thanks!

In your post remove the imei and serialno.
You need to change your MID to PN0714000 and your CID to HTC__044 (eight characters). If you still do not receive OTA, here is a custom unsigned RUU 3.63.707.4 that you flash in bootloader. Or you could flash Guru_reset_m7_3-63-707-4-zip in TWRP.

majmoz, sorry to bug in, but i would recommend PN0710000 or PN0714000 because PN0711000 is the m7_u, and the OP has an m7_ul

Hi,
Thanks for reminding me about the imei & serial#.
I assume this is the tool that I should use to change the CID and MID?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535365
Sounds like flashing the custom RUU is an easier choice to me. I shall try changing the CID and MID first.

I'm in Hong Kong, but I don't really mind which area as long as I get the Andriod 4.4 now and all the future HTC upgrades (i.e Andriod L).

Sorry, I'm out at the moment to give detailed instructions, but you could go for PN0710000 and HTC__001 (European unbranded) and flash a x.xx.401.x ruu

not to jump nkk71 replies, but I just changed my phone to Dev edition last night in 30mins, it was very easy and got OTA's straight after booting.
Change cid to BS_US001 (always 8 characters)
Change MID to PN0712000 using this tool in a custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535365
download this firmware, put your phone into RUU mode and don't forget to flash it twice: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407579901
download this RUU and run it with your phone in fastboot USB mode: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-38r-1157-04l_release_353887_signed_3-exe/
DONE !!!
I did it! Thanks everyone for the help :fingers-crossed:

İ wrote some explanations over device info. Lets start.
When i got the device device working on 4.4.2 rom. But not working 3g. When i try to activate 3g ,i losing the signal. Annoying Problem.
After that i unlock the device . But unlocking device also was a problem. i installed from latest rom from HTC website. Sprint version. After install , no baseband , no imemi problem came up.
I tried 3 different custom rom . All of them stuck on HTC screen. i think phone can't find right starting files or boot file doesn't match phone info. i read a lot topic from the internet. They said upgrade the latest firmware. i think done that.
Next step. i changed the CID and MID.
Before
CID : 11111111
MID: PN072****
After changing:
CID: HTC__001
MID: PN0710000
After this i changed the cid again.
Last:
CID: 11111111
MID: PN0710000
After change this. I tried Htc stock rom. For UL version ." RUU_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_7.17.1540.51" But , can't install. Device doesn't match.
After i tried sprint rom. "RUU_M7_WL_L50_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_6.23.651.10" Again device doesnt match. Before changing i can install this rom. Also it's working but no baseband and imei problem.
Next step: i download Google Play Edition (5.1 Lollipop) still stuck on htc screen.
So, ,i couldn't find the solution . Waiting your helps.
Note: Sorry for bad english

The sprint variant (m7wls) will only work with the sprint firmware and sprint software. You can't use m7_ul stuff on it. Write back your original MID and CID then flash the sprint ruu. After that if you still have problems with it, it's most likely an hardware failure. Note that the sprint variant is CDMA and that it will not work on all gsm frequencies, even if it's sim unlocked.

i'm a noob and my HTC ONE M7 is kinda confusing me.. Help??

Hi there
i'm a noob and my HTC ONE M7 is kinda confusing me.. Help??
i have some confusion about what carrier is my HTC M7, i have come across multiple carriers name when i was reading on the internet like HTC Verizon, HTC Sprint, HTC international version etc.
when i press and hold power and - volume, i get these information.
*** UNLOCKED ********
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
Question one. what is my HTC ONE M7 Carrier??
are there any way to know it that i should use??
someone have installed for me TWRP 3.0.2-0 recovery.
but when i tried to check for system update in settings, phone tell me that there's an update and start to download it, but when i install it, here comes up with error stating that:
"Updater process ended with ERROR: 7"
is there someone who have any idea, why this is happening??, does this issue have anything to do with the TWRP recovery?
plus, when i try to check the file that system update have download for me to update, i found in it's name the name Sprint (OTA_M7_WL_K44_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_5.05.651.2-5.03.651.3_realese_393199.zip). does it mean that i'm using HTC sprint version??
please help! i just want to use Stock Roms, because when i tried to use other roms like Viper one, it didn't went well, sometimes my phone just dropped the calls, or turning off internet unexpectedly

Your phone is running the Sprint firmware and the MID is also Sprint (M7WLS not M7_UL). Was the "meid" only 0 or there was a real meid before you edited out with "X"

The M7_UL can not have a MEID, it's always 0
Your MID is Sprint (PN0720000)
Your firmware (version-main) is the Sprint version
And i'm pretty sure that if you look at your partition table, you'll see that your phone is partitioned like a sprint variant
Code:
adb shell
cat /proc/emmc
M7_UL partition table https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42403239&postcount=1
M7WLS partition table https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40326225&postcount=1
(look at /system for example) p35 vs p37
If you bought this phone online and told it was an international/gsm phone you were scammed, its a sprint cdma variant.
To install ota update your phone must be 100% stock (stock recovery, 100% untouched /system partition). You can't install ota update with a custom recovery. Also the M7WLS variant will only work correctly when compatible custom recovery/rom/kernel are installed, Recovery/rom/kernel for the m7_ul will not work on your phone.
You can update the to latest sprint version using the ruu on htc's website or you can flash a sprint compatible custom rom using a sprint compatible twrp.
