hello guys...
so i think we heard the good news
samsung has started rolling out Froyo update to galaxy s i9000 finally, so i was reading here in the forum that a member have done the update without removing lag fix or unrooting and his phone is bricked
so do i really have to remove the One Click Lag Fix and unroot my mobile to have the update without problems?
another question please, i have bought my i9000 from saudi arabia and the phone has the arabic language which i really need it for the arabic messages that are coming to me ( i live in Egypt and my first language is Arabic), also for the navigation and my gps works perfectly without any problems, so will this update remove the arabic language from my phone? and will it screws my gps?
Please help me i need advices quickly cause i'm very worried!!!
Always remove lagfix before you temper with the firmware. Always. No Exception. Never Forget. Biggest single cause of problems.
As for rooting... I never unroot my phone. Doesn't seem to pose much of an issue. But it's a good idea to do a factory reset before updating you firmware.

thanks for replying
excuse me i'm very new in android world, so what exactly does this factory reset do?
and what about my other questions, do you have any idea that Arabic language will go? or the gps won't be as accurate as now?
sorry my English is not the best....trying to
I bought a Salsa that has 1.16.708.3 on it and it comes with many Chinese only language programs that I need to get rid of. It appears they are in the root and I haven't been able to root this phone.
Does anybody else have QQSecurity on their phone or know where I can find an English translation of the menu structure?
I think it is interfering with downloads and connections.
There are about 6 Chinese programs I need to get rid of.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, did you ever solve this problem? I am in the same situation now..

Me personally would unlock it. Wipe it and flash another rom. Solves all those problems in one go
BigBearEvo is using Xparent tapatalk 2 ICS on CM7
Hi,
I recently bricked my phone by putting a random rom.
I don't want to do it again.
I replaced the motherboard.
Any more things which can brick my phone ? anything specific for SGA or its the same for All?
- Never put a random Rom
- Never use Rom Manager
- Read the whole thread 1st especially the Installation Procedure before flashing it
- SGA has 2^x models, know which model you have before trying some random ROM;
- Only L/B/D and T models are supported for custom ROMs (GT-S5830i/M isn't, afaik);
- Learn everything you can do before trying something;
- Search function is your friend, use it when you're afraid of something (no, I'm not reprimanding you);
- If you searched AND looked for at least 2 or 3 search pages (your answer could be buried in the deeps of XDA) you're good to ask!
Sorry if this seems a bit harsh, but this is what I (try) to do.
You know what...Flash a rom,be happy with it,don't go changing roms every single day

That's a nice tip too Don't flash lots of ROMs unless you really know what you are doing!
Read properly all instructions b4 flashing..... .
Never install rommanager.....
Read d reviews b4 flashing ( don't be d firstone to flash a zip )

Maybe flash a rom with removed bootloader? I remember seeing some of those roms in the Dev section. As rom manager hard bricks your phone by corrupting the bootloader, your phone will be virtually un hard brickable if you have no bootloader!

Hi,
i lost my all data and backup STOCK ROM, then is was trying to unroot using RSD lite it shows error i.e Downgrade Security reason error.
can any one post stock for my moto x 1052 Retail EU versions 4.4.4.
:crying:
Thanks
Mahesh...
I'm not sure that the files have been released for manual flashing yet.
Can you be more specific on the current state of your device... It's wiped and unusable? What have you tried flashing exactly? Did you try to flash an older version of android?
And what All have you tried to do.
And what version were you on before all this?
And how were you rooted exactly?
Just trying to see the whole picture here. Need all this info to really help... Hopefully.
At this point, you may be waiting until the files are out for flashing.... Unless your answers to these questions change something. ?

I suggest you not do anything else until you've researched this a bit more.
No, you can't downgrade safely. You could brick your device trying, or later by taking an OTA.
I don't, and many others, ever suggest downgrading. It's very dangerous and has left many with serious problems, or even unusable devices.
That said. Why are you trying to unroot exactly?
Also... You can only flash the 4.4.4 files now. They probably aren't available yet so you will need to be patient. If CM is working for you now, that's great.... But you may be stuck like that until the SBF files are out for 4.4.4....then you can flash it with RSDLite or fastboot.
I don't see you have any other safe options.

Hi, how did u flash CM11, can u post a link for the rom for CM11 for Moto X XT1052.. Plz thank you in advance..
There are some sites that host the leaked roms listed HERE -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/info-tip-web-sites-official-leaked-roms-t2923347
You'll want to check ALL of the links.
This might work -> http://www.filefactory.com/file/292..._4.4.4_KXA21.12-L1.26_54_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml.zip

1. You need to be unlock the bootloader
2. Next You need root your device and install custom recovery . Follw the links it can help you:
Unlock boot loader : http://www.idroidspace.com/how-to-unlock-moto-x-bootloader-officially-all-carriers/
For root : http://www.reddit.com/r/MotoX/comments/20j27k/the_ultimate_moto_x_root_thread/
if you have ANY doubtS CHECK IN THE PORTAL.
Everything is covered here on XDA... Much easier to get help if you stay on this site for guides.
Like this one for unlocking and installing recovery help...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/ref-complete-moto-x-guides-information-t2603358
Not sure why anyone would need to send people to other websites for these basic things. ?

Hi, I think u go my question wrong.. I asked to post link to the CM11 ROM where u got your s from..
I already have my boot loader unlocked and rooted device.. as I'm using krypton ROM for quite a long now.
So plz give link to CM11 ROM for xt1052

There's only one cm rom in the development section. And unless there's been a recent change, it's been discontinued, and has bugs. ?

How many phones have you bricked? I'm sorry, but I remember many of your posts with big problems in the past. You seem to ignore most advice. No offense intended.... But it's true.
Cause this one will brick if you ever take an ota. Practically guaranteed.
Hope you realize that? ?
Also.... Everyone gets lucky occasionally.... But the X section is filled with threads from people who didn't get lucky.
So please never recommend anyone try it. You don't want to be responsible for them being unlucky and destroying their toy. Right? ?

i don t recommend it like we speak in another thread.
i just tell that this is possible.
i bricked the device for others reasons and not for downgrade.
but like u say if the people don t know how to do it or what s the risk to do it : DON T DOWNGRADE.

You have a fitting user name. ?
Seriously, with some people not knowing what they are doing... And with communication misunderstandings due to language barriers and what not...
If someone asks you can they safely downgrade.... Just say no. ?
Cause it's never safe. You're adventure isn't necessarily over either.... If you take an ota accidentally or on purpose... You might be phone shopping. ?
That's all I'll say on that.
Hi,
Actually i am new to the android i knew little bit. i have few doubts

Hi sry but I don't know what a "kernal" is.
1. Google
2. You should do a lot of reading before you even consider flashing anything
3. See #2

This ^^
Best not to do anything to your phone until you read up and learn about all this stuff.
The moto x is unfortunately an easy device to brick, or at least have big problems... If you do things without knowing what you are doing,... You're asking for trouble. ?
