It will take a few days to really tell. The new optimiser will take a few days to start working.

Looks like it's the t mobile version of what the international ROMs already have. Not bad. [emoji106] [emoji106]

I might update to this, interested in better call and possible battery....

Updated ota (no factory reset), will see how it goes and maybe report back in a few days. I'm sure most are hoping for better battery and better ram management.
---------- Post added at 04:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:53 PM ----------
actually, most were probably hoping for 6.0

I was checking for software updates today and I saw this update. I applied the update and now my softkeys (onscreen back button and app manager) is no longer lighting up. I don't see anyone having the same issue after the upgrade...
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I don't understand how that can just disappear after an update.

So... how serious is that? I assume we could still downgrade via ODIN or install a custom ROM through TWRP?
Thanks

Anyone flash this modem on the AOE4 boot loader/DOH6 firmware and get it to work?

So if I'm on a custrom ROM with a custom kernel using TWRP, can I just ODIN the modem and bootloader and be OK?

cell stand by bug is fixed i believe:good:

Indeed... it doesn't even work if you attempt to unroot first (you'll end up in a bootloop: which you can get out of if you re-root via cfautoroot). At least that's what happened to me

Really? I'm noticing a huge improvement, especially during idle times. And I'm certain it's not placebo because the difference is night/day. I'd lose about 10% an hour just in idle. Now it's about 2% if that.

Just updated and re-rooted with CF root. No noticeable changes to speak of. Apparently, the OTA size was under 50mb.

Just downloaded it. Guys theres a massive difference . Absolutely no lag when pressing recent apps .. not even a .1 of a second. It instant. Multi apps run smoother . Not sure of battery life yet.
Updating mine right now. One thing I noticed on ANJ3, with Android Wear installed, Play Services was chewing up tons of battery on idle. I'm not sure if it was Android Wear specifically or perhaps a bug in Play Services but either removing Android Wear or disabling the specific service in Play Services related to Wearables was the only way to stop the drain. I'm going to give Android Wear another shot on ANJ5.

Updated this morning. On first boot it showed my EFS stuff had been wiped. After a reboot, it's back but now my system status is Custom. Not sure I'm a fan of this update, but I might just reset with SmartSwitch to fix it.
EDIT: Seems that was a minor glitch, after a minute or so it's back to Official. Strange.

I've been going through Google + posts and members are claiming that RAM management is fixed or greatly improved. I DO NOT agree with that. It's still the same crap for me.
Auto rotation is way faster now!!
Can anybody concur with this??
update as well, too early to declare, but I think battery drain has reduced. We shall get better picture in few days.
fyi, you are able to odin TWRP and flash gavin's unikernel.! so there is that
i have no idea as to what they fixed. right now my phone is having sync errors. sometimes technology really blows.
Not sure if it's placebo effect or what, but things definitely feel "smoother" where I used to see lag, hiccups, stutters.

always nice to get an update. about to install, need to quick charge first. I had wifi-calling on all night, hence my battery was at 1% when i woke up. which brings me to my next point: i hope this update fixes the cell-standby bug. I don't think I'll use video calling much if it means my battery life tanks due to enabled VoLTE. It's been reported, on other S6 variants that got this "latest TW" update, that RAM management is better, so i'm looking forward to that possibility. hopefully the experts here will check out all the minute code details regarding RAM and let us know if RAM management is the same or not.

My battery life seems to be a bit better with this update.
I just plugged phone into smartswitch and saw the update. 50% through right now. Wonder what's up with it, and hopefully battery life is a little better. I'm pretty sure being an avid user as I am, and the apps that I run don't help.... But, my s4 got better battery then this phone does =/ I'm also probably going to have to get a replacement, because my camera is all wonky, and making weird noises.. All in all, I'm fairly disappointed with the way Samsung rolled this phone out. I'm trying to stick with Samsung, but they are making it very hard.
anywhere to get the file? i'm rooted so no ota update for me...
Memory management still sucks balls. Everything else in the update is legit though. Seems like there is more bloat than ever.
Got Wifi issue! It won't connect or either too slow, though wifi signal is good.

New Update Relased for S6: BOJ7

AT&T's update text has something along the lines of fixing security issues and performance issues.
I'm not sure if there's anything else to it.
If someone has more info on this, that'd be great.
Already updated since I'm not on a firmware that'd support it anyways.
just updated to that version and so far i feel like the little stutters a not as bad now when scrolling. i also have the samsung package app disabler from google play store that helps save memory for non rooted phones. update was about 100mb over wifi and i needed to have an active sim card for the file to push over.
I installed the update on my S6 Edge and one thing I noticed that's missing is the battery optimization feature that Samsung built which is similar to the upcoming Doze/App Standby feature. It was released in this update on the t-mobile and international versions but I don't see it anywhere on the AT&T version. I'm not sure why they removed a feature that can greatly improve battery life but that's AT&T for you. I also don't see Wifi calling in this update. It appears to basically just be bug fixes, security updates and VoLTE improvements with HD Video and ability to send larger videos over SMS.
My phone auto-updated without my permission today. I was holding off on the 5.1.1 update, let alone the baseband update. The device management alert came up earlier in the day, but I told it to remind me later. Instead of doing that, though, it looks like it decided to do the update. WTF AT&T?!

Do you know what size of video we are supposed to be able to send? I tried on my S6 to send a video to my wife and the default messenger app still shrunk it down to 692K. Garbled garbage still at that compression.
---------- Post added at 09:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:20 AM ----------
I'm just glad it didn't fix the bugs I've had since updating to 5.1.1 and losing root. I really want to keep those as long as possible. #sarcasm #whydidntibuyinternationalversion
The battery life is definitely much better in terms of standby time. It's a night and day difference for me. Looks like we did get the battery optimization. It just doesn't show up in the settings like on other versions.
I guess all we can do, is hope that the update to OJ7 has created security hole(s) and will allow our wonderful XDA developers an opportunity to utilize it/them to gain root again. I know it sounds like a pipe dream but its no more or less what we have currently, on OI2.
I'm actually having worse battery life after the update than before, I just wiped my cache yesterday so I'll report back later but I find that even with Enhanced LTE disabled my battery is draining a lot more. I'll give it a few days though and see how it is now......my biggest issue is I find that my app usage is quite a bit higher than before and my cell standby in gsam is higher as well though it no longer appears in the lollipop battery stats.
a link to download the new OTA?
I'm on stock and tried the update 2x and both failed at 30%?
Edit: Did a factory reset and the OTA still fails.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Battery is alright on OJ7. Slightly worse than OCE but its not bad.
I did a cache wipe and that seems to have fixed the drain i was having. I'm trying out VoLTE again to see if that's any better now. Overall I'd say the battery life is similar to the previous build. I do have an odd issue today, at about 100 hrs uptime and my LTE keeps showing up while on Wifi for several minutes, then it goes away and then a few minutes later it reappears. This was before I turned back on VoLTE. I did try toggling airplane mode but that didn't resolve it. I do see there is a new build series that is OK# starting to rollout so probably some bug fixes there if we see it, who knows if we'll get that or if AT&T will have us wait for 6.0.
Can anyone please get the files for the update so that those of us that cannot OTA can update via ODIN.

Idk if im paying 250 euro for a phone I demand a good working phone able to do basic needs . Taking ages to write a file and dying after 2.5 hours SoT imo is not acceptable. this is just poor quality control. The average user is not able to mess around with kernel auditor , proximity calibration and what not

Sorry to disagree, but this bug of max frequencies, affecting some and not others, is one of the most importance bug to solve or saing something about, because users are confused without knowing if their new phone has a hardware issue or not, to be return.
They had their chance to solve this in this patch if really was a software issue, now im not sure of that.
By the end of today, Xiaomi will lose a lot of A2 users.
