Recovery mode after PwnMyMoto? - Moto X Q&A

So I rooted my device using PwnMyMoto before I heard about Sunshine unlock. Recently I unlocked my device using Sunshine and now PwnMyMoto recovery mode boots the system still happens. How can I disable that so I can flash twrp? (I know how to flash TWRP but the phone doesn't boot into recovery mode because of PwnMyMoto.)

[Q] my 4x HD won't boot after flashing insecure boot.img

OK I used this tool found herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230934 to unlock and root my optimus 4x, it successfully flashed superuser but wouldnt unlock my boot loader, it brought up the screen to continue to unlock and press volume up but it got stuck on that screen for 45 minutes , I flashed twrp recovery but it wouldnt boot to recovery so I reflashed stock recovery,so I thought it would be a good idea to flash an insecure boot image, now my phone won't boot to recovery or boot at all , I just get error;boot image signature, any ideas guys,I only have the phone a day.
You have to unlock your bootloader before flashing recovery or unsecure boot. Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224020

[Q] How does one "launch in to recovery" while with TWRP installed?

Before I unlocked and installed TWRP on my Moto X, I had the option to restart into recovery mode which gave me system write access. But now with TWRP, when I press launch to recovery, it just launches my custom recovery; TWRP. How do I reboot into recovery like before, or is it not required anymore once I've unlocked the bootloader?

Since you have TWRP installed you already have read write access.
Have you flashed SuperSU to gain root?

Not required for what? Tell us what are you trying to do. The final goal.

I don't even... What I'm getting from your post is that you unlocked your bootloader and flashed a custom recovery but don't understand why you did it nor what the benefits of each are. Go read up on unlocked bootloaders and what their benefits are. You'll get your answer a lot quicker that way.

How can I install TWRP on Xperia TX with firmware 9.2.A.1.215?

I have rooted the phone and the bootloader is unlocked. I tried to use the official TWRP app to download and install the TWRP recovery and flashed it successfully. However, I can't enter the recovery mode by using Power+Volume Down key or using Quick Reboot to boot into recovery.
Can anyone teach me how can I install and boot into TWRP? Or anything I did wrong? Thanks!

rooting htc one m7

Hi I have a HTC One Dual Sim (m7) 5.0.2 android. I have unlocked the bootloader using htcdev.com, but cannot root the phone. I have used Kingroot, Kingo root and iRoot. Kingo and King both say rooted sometimes but it goes away quickly (dont even need to restart). Is it impossible to root the phone using these apps? thanks!
Do not use any of those apps to root.
You have already unlocked bootloader so next step is flashing custom recovery. You can find twrp recovery here. Do a fastboot install method. After you flashed recovery download supersu zip file from here and save it on your phone. Reboot phone to recovery and tap install. Find supersu and install it. After that reboot phone (your phone will restart itself a couple times during boot) and your phone should be successfully rooted.
The phone comes with the bootloader unlocked? interesting. Any toolboxes I should use?

moto x4 softbricket wih motorola smart tools

After using the motorola smart tools and trying to flash the smartfone
the device only starts up to the bootloader
the bootloader is locked
I'm not in the recovery mode he always jumps back to the boot loader.
if I connect the device to the pc then it starts without turning up in the boot loader.
is there still a solution, or do i have a new paperweight

Did you try blank flash yet?
Forget everything, and try to manually boot into TWRP.
Download TWRP for payton from the TWRP site (Img and Zip files for V3.2). Download and install Minimal ADB, Copy TWRP img file into the ADB install directory, put your phone into bootloader mode, connect to PC and run "fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-1-payton.img" on the ADB commandline. The phone will boot into TWRP. You'll have to mount the storage and copy the TWRP .zip file into your phone and flash that from TWRP. Now you got TWRP flashed as the recovery.
Now it's a matter of flashing a ROM. I'm not really sure about stock firmware because i haven't flashed them before, but if you want to flash a custom ROM, make sure you flash TWRP after flashing the ROM without rebooting into system or recovery.
PS: I assumed you know how to do this with this explanation. Let me know if you need more instructions.
