Hi,
From my other thread about newly released Manual and FAQ for the Mate S - I will update any Tips & Tricks I have discovered so far.
1. If you use the built-in Clock application - you can set up an Alarm and even when the watch is turned-off, upon Alarm time is reached, it will turn on the Mate S and will sound the Alarm clock ! nice !

Night Mode: Bedside clock with adjustable brightness to rest your eyes at night.
The Millenium Alarm Plus interface is fully customizable, you can choose the background color style as well as the title bar color.
Important Notice: Some battery saving apps or system power managers can prevent alarms from working. Please make sure that it's not the case.
Here are some known examples:
1- EMUI: Add the app to protected apps.
2- Acer AID Kit: Remove the app from Energy Organization blacklist.
3- Avoid forcing the app close and exclude it while cleaning the RAM if it forces apps to close.
4- In some devices like Xiaomi system periodically kill apps. In this case you need to add the app to "Caution" list.
5- Sony: Make sure that STAMINA mode allows alarms to work. if not then disable it.

Hi there,
I have a Lumia 735, which is great, but I miss a feature:
A slowly increasing volume for the alarm.
Would it be possible to extract the predefined alarm tones and edit these (fade in effect)?
Has someone done this already?
Has anyone noticed in WP10 the same behaviour, or is there an improvement?
The built-in Alarms app already gradually increases volume, or at least it's supposed to. I haven't checked WP10 but I wouldn't expect that to have changed.
In my case this is not working. The alarm is not rising. It starts loud, and stays on this level.
Maybe I should try a different alarmtone (using "Spieluhr" in german, maybe called "musical clock" or "musical box" in english).
There are some alarm apps in store, which have lots of features, fading volume included. Personally, my favourite is Gentle Alarm Clock Lite, just search it and try.
Hi,
I'm on recent epic global ROM. Alarm didnt go off twice now over night after being off charger. I reckon this has something to do with deep sleep and / or battery optimization.
Anyone with the same problem? Any good workaround, if so?
I used Google clock.
On another note, Any clock Widget doesnt show the correct upcoming alarm. No difference if Set with Google or System clock App...
Hello,
if my Huawei P20 Pro has been locked with EMUI 10 for a few minutes, I do not receive any notifications from some apps. Examples are GMail, Foraum or Google Weather. Whatsapp or Discord notifications, on the other hand, always work. Then as soon as I unlock my screen, I'll get the notifications that were due.
I've already tried everything that is on the Huawei site:
- Energy optimization settings for apps: do not allow
- Notification settings
- Allow apps to be active in the background
- Energy -> Always connected#
- Energy -> Auto Start is set manually
- I uninstalled Power Genie with ADB
I am at the end of my possibilities and would be happy if someone has an idea what I could still try.
I've also read that this is a problem when sideloading apps with P30 or P40 due to lack of GMS, but in P20 this should not be a problem, right?
Best wishes

So I found that the reason is the doze mode. i deactivated it via adb the way it is explained here:
[Guide] Notification FIX - Works 100%
So if you are having issues with notifications not coming in or coming in late this is finally how to fix it 100% on every app. It seems to have a very slight impact on battery but nothing major. From what I saw it was about 1% per hour drain...
forum.xda-developers.com
Now every notification comes through and the way I see it for now, the impact on the battery is almost zero.
