The only launcher that can add widgets is Go Launcher, and that only if you install the widgets apps for the launcher. The other launchers redirect to the Fire settings page.

I finally managed to get google now launcher working, now I want to add the clock widget to the home screen. the built in deskclock is in data/app and so is google now launcher. Which of these do i have to move to system? and should it be in /priv-app?
And if I now move google now to system, will i lose access to it again?
edit: do i move the whole folder(s) or just the apk? and i'm manually setting permissions to -rw-r--r--

stock amazon clock? that's not going to have a widget option.
Hmm, i thought it was the stock android clock. It's the same on my moto e. and it has widgets. How do we check if an app has widgets?

Amazon modifies everything, I'm sure the widget features were stripped out of all stock apps

On my fire 2015 Google now launcher also allows widgets, but not nova.

Why not ? It is a fully working rom, like stock - and you can install apps on stock rom, can you ?

Have you root your phone?? Install titanium backup, and you can remove your apps..

Thanks for replying, I mean when i make a rom i edit the rom and put apps on that Rom EG. Zeus rom has put Zeam Launcher as default home screen.
So could i do that and How

How if you unzip the other rom, and you put apk from there to your rom?? Have you try?

In order to put apps to your current rom, push the desired apk file to /system/apps/
and change its permissions to "rw-r--r--" (same permissions as the other system apps)
(Root access and root file manager are required)
You can simply add and remove apps to system/app, but remove only the ones that can be removed (search for the list) and add them in the format: com.bkablabla-1.apk, otherwise they might not be updated. And you might need some libs, for not to get fc's...

first install another launcher... then go to tb and uninstall the launcher that you dont want
Here is the new Google Play Store with my twist of black and blue. Simply install as you would any other zip and enjoy! As always, make a nandroid back up just in case!

Was in daylight when i wrote the above post but in the evening the icons show up better.
Can i suggest you make the icons lighter (rather than darker) like the three dots for the settings menu.
Sure no problem, have classes starting soon but will get to it, thanks!

I have a rooted razr maxx. I should be able to just unzip your zip and install the apk with root explorer into system/apps and change permissions and all should be well, correct?
Should be able to,,,if that doesnt work then ADB push it and change the permissions then reboot, let me know

here is touchwiz 5.0 launcher from s3..
instructions:
for launcher only use launcher zip file. put the 2 apk's system/app and lib file to system/lib directories with rw-r-r permissions. then reboot.
for accuweather widget download 3 apk's and the zip file in the attachment. put apk's to system/app. open zip and put the files to system/etc/permissions and system/framework. set all permissions rw-r-r and then reboot.
update:
- homescreen 4*4 (before 4*5)
- accuweather widget is now 4*2 (before 4*3)
- folder preview better now
- accuweather background pictures scaled
- accuweather city details scaled (before min.temp and buttons were under screen)
- re-added dock icon labels

accuweather main apk may fc when u search for city it is a known situation. but finds your current location well. and in city details it needs to be resized some buttons and weather min.degree is under screen. if u use paranoid set weather main dpi to 105..

at first...when you add the widget just let it finds your current location (don't tap anything)..when it already got your location, then you can add other location by edit and search on the widget...it works for me...

Your pixel luncheer must be system app. If not then move apk to system - app- create folder name pixel launcher (permission 755)- move apk in this folder( permission 644)

It doesn't have pixel launcher is not in system level so do the same procedure mentioned in. Earlier post
I'm having this problem as well. GPS is on all the time, launcher is a system app and has location permission. Google Now is active and all weather related options in the feed are turned on. I've tried everything but neither the weather nor the microphone icon show. Tried on almost every N rom out there for bacon. Any ideas?
No such issues here. Yes. GPS must be ON for weather display. I use Black moded pixel launcher from Huawei Nexus 6P thread. Flashing the mod zip copied the apks in /system/app folder.

This is a "port" of the Pixel Launcher from the P developer preview. It hardly has any changes, just a non-transparent dock and some more rounded edges
This will NOT install on top of any previous versions of the Pixel Launcher! You have to remove previous pixel launcher before installation.
For workable Google now left slider and AT glance wheather option you need to move app as system app, for that use any Root explore to move app in system (shown in video) or use any root method u knows to make the app As system app.
You can theme the app using subtratum swift black theme available at playstore it looks nice.

How do I install on an original google pixel because I can't uninstall the pixel launcher and they haven't given it the new version.

If u want have installed this app as system app via root xplorer then delete tthis app from root>sysytem >apps.
Then u can install any pixel launcher
