I was charging my phone overnight. My phone is rooted and running stock 5.0.1. I use my phone as alarm so can't have this happen to me. The phone crashed rebooted and stayed stuck on the T-mobile bootscreen all night. When I woke up for work saw the bright tmobile screen. Had to pull battery to reboot phone. I was wondering is there an app that will record such an event? So i can have some kind of log on what caused the crash.

Just type in logcat in the play store. There are a bunch of apps that'll do what you are looking for.

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody else experiences this behavior:
From time to time the battery of my Galaxy tab drops to 3% (at least this is what Android tells me). I noticed that this often happens when a view change takes place and when I simultanously press the volume control down. Today it also happened on a view change when I was using Skype. When I reboot the device it's showing a normal battery level again (e.g. 43%).
I wonder if this is a hardware issue or if it's a software bug. Anybody experiencing this, too?

Are you rooted/unlocked/rerom'ed at all?
There are various methods to resetting the batteries calibration, but it just depends on what brand you have/what you've done to it.
This is a fairly common problem, and for the most part can be solved easily.
Hello,
no, it hasn't been not rooted yet. Do I need to root it before I can recalibrate the battery?

Ok, there is an app and I need root for it to work. Seems it is solved now.

Which app are you talking about ? I have a very similar problem -- battery suddenly goes from ~30% to 1%, the tab starts screaming that I should connect to the charger, and (sometimes) shuts off. If I then wait 10 minutes, the battery will show again 30%, and it might run for awhile, go to 1%, where it will happily "run" (albeit doing nothing) for *HOURS*.
I'm rooted, have BatteryCalibrator installed and run it (I charged it fully, ran the calibrator, and am waiting for it to completely drain -- so that it wont even turn on, to charge it up again). So I'm wondering if you've really fixed this, and how.
I've contacted Samsung about my problem (the tab is about 6 months old) and they told me to do a full reset (special key sequence in telephone -- dont know if this is different from the "factory data reset" in Settings->Privacy).
I haven't done anything with this rooted phone yet, as it has unlocked everything, and I want to make sure I understand how to go back to a fully unlocked state before attempting to update (running XWJJ7). I also dont want Samsung to update it if I have to return it for warranty service....
For some reason my N7 just keeps waking up on its own every 10 minutes or so. Happens when it's charging or when it's unplugged.
Any idea why?

most likely an app
What he/she said. Give more details to what ROM you are running and what not. Also, how long has it been going on? And lastly, if recent, look at the apps downloaded most recently.
Def an app going rogue :sly: BetterBatteryStats might help you figure out which one... Lol or just look in your battery stats in your system settings. Prob the app with highest % ..assuming its not a game you play all the time!

Okay so i rebooted and after that it stopped waking up randomly when it isn't plugged in. So it probably was an app.
But when it's fully charged and still plugged in the screen keeps turning on giving me the notification that it's fully charged every few minutes. How can I stop that?

notification? thats an app, or possibly a custom rom setting.

for me imo.im app did wonders for my atrix, kept it awake all the time.
and do cehk all ur recent apps, some times app it self is not bad the settings are not set properly so every time u get notification screen wakes up.
About a week ago, I started noticing that my phone battery gets very hot and the battery drains quickly when the phone is NOT in use (Screen off, sitting on my desk). Full charge to 0% in 4 four hours or so, without being stressed.
When I try to charge it from the supplied wall charger, it doesn't get past 87% charged before the battery temp creeps into the 40s and it starts draining (while still plugged in).
I assume it's a faulty battery, only because I haven't downloaded anything new. The only change I made was updating Viber. I removed that app from my phone but it's still dropping like a fly.
I've done a factory reset twice, no change.
Rebooted the phone many times, no change.
Tried different cables and different chargers (PC, Old X10), no change.
Now, since I can't replace the battery in this phone, I'm hoping there's a software method to see what might be eating the battery.
Note : My LT30a .195 can't be rooted, and the bootloader can't be unlocked. Also, I don't know how to take screenshots.
Anyone have an suggestions ??
In Settings-Battery you should be able to see what processes are using it.
If you want to monitor cpu load in real time, then you'll need some app, like OS Monitor to see load per process, or PowerTutor for logging cumulative consumption.
I bought this phone several days before. Yesterday got root, installed cwm recovery and installed jb 4.1.2 deoxed stock Rom. I noticed that my phone can't sleep. Totally! Take a look on screenshots. I thought that may be bcoz of some apps so I wiped everything (int and ext sdcard too), but it makes no sense

Turning off your auto sync when not needed should do the trick.
Something's wrong there. I've got too much battery consumption by Android System too, but that is ridiculous.
¿Have you tried BetterBatteryStats to see what's keeping it on?.

download batterystats from the market and see what is keeping your phone awake in partial wakelock column...this will give you exact process name of the culprit

AudioOut_2 is related to any games or apps related to sound or which "produce" sound..are you on stock rom and stock kernel?
try to exit any music player app after listening or exit the game properly after playing..sometimes keystrock sound causes it..
do one thing...reboot it and keep it idle for an hr or so..and while rebooting make sure your phone is not in silent or vibrate mode..and after an ar check the batterystats and let us know!
And do check all the columns including partial wakelocks and try to find which process used more time or percentage...

I charged battery fully, made a reboot and left device for a night. Wifi was on. I lost 10% per 9 hrs.
Phone haven't slept at all
Is that all bcoz of gtalk?
Sent from my LT30p using xda premium
Dude your phone is just fine...10% down in 9 hrs with wifi on is too good...everything looks normal..gtalk seems to be waking up the phone to update the online offline lists.in general syncing...thats all..if it was 10% down in 1 hr then it wouldve been a problem...the data looks just fine..and trust me your phone is entering sleep mode..or else it wouldve showed different result..to confirm that install cpuspy..it will say what all frequency are being used and how much phone is sleeping and all...
so just chill..
BTW I logged out from gtalk yesterday evening so I can't understand why it's trying to connect

I have an odd issue with my One. I am getting phantom battery temperature notifications. I'll hear my device go off or partially go off and typically when I grab it there will be no notification, but on occasion I grab the device quick and I can see it say the battery is too hot and then it disappears instantly. Oddly the notification says the temp is like 89f which is very cool...
The odd thing is that it ALWAYS appears when the device is just sitting down and super cool to the touch. Its never happened as I was using it or when it gets hot. Only after its sitting for a while and cooled down. An the notification never stays.
Any thoughts? Is it a faulty sensor? Think I should send it in?

Hi,
Do you use GSam Battery Monitor? Can you take a screenshot of the notification?
I was also getting these. I was wondering why, they seem to have disappeared.
I did have gsam battery monitor installed, I don't know however.
I would always check the temperatures afterwards and they wouldn't even be near hot.

Did you update your firmware to the latest 3.09.401.1 posted by LlabTooFeR?
I guess I too get these notifications as you said randomly. And I doubt that after my firmware upgrade I have this issue. I too have GSam installed and updated to the latest
Any one else confirm this?
It is gsam go to it's settings scroll down to alarms click on alarms disable the last two notifications something got messed up in the last gsam update
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
Re,
You need to disable the notification: Menu/Preferences/Alarms. There was a version with a bug with the notifications, normally solved with the last update.
EDIT: not fast enough , no issue here with the last update...

Ahh interesting. I do have Gsam installed but I only assumed it was the built in monitoring that was going off.
Thanks! It's been driving me nuts

Hi! The phone application got stuck and it keeps draining my battery. How could I shut it off? I didn't use the phone app today, and it says that I used it for 36m. Which makes my phone die easily.
Original ROM. The android os keeps my phone awake too. It wont sleep at all. Please help.
