Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) For MTCB Head Units - MTCB Android Head Units General

TPMS has beenn mentioned a few times in the original thread, but AFAIK no one has managed to find out how/if any TPMS modules will work. I bought a TPMS module from Klyde, it comes with 4 valve caps and a strange mini USB thing that I assume allows you to plug another mini USB device into the unit at the same time.
Unfortunately I cant get it to work with the built in TPMS app that started appearing in ROMs from June either on my old unit or my new one, I ve tried searching for the device in the BT app and the BT in settings but I get nothing, I m awaiting a response from Klyde.
If anyone has any ideas on how to get it to work then let me know, but its good to see TPMS hardware available for these devices - even if its not working . . yet !

Can you share link from TPMS module?

My brain is stuck what is TPMS? I am sure I should know but i don't get it
Guess youre talking about Tire Pressure Metering Sensor?
would you probably add a hint to your OP and title so others know what you mean? Remeber the non-english-speakers here

Yes this is it (Tire Pressure Metering Sensor).

I simply bought it from Klyde, there was no link, I guess you have to ask them.
It turns out it cant be used with DAB, which is why I cant get it to work - the cable to attach it is the same as the DAB module they sent me.
I m not sure if its BT or maybe NFC or something. I ll report back with results when I get it to to work

Does anybody try this TPMS solution with his HU?
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Smar...77_80_61,searchweb201644_5,searchweb201560_10
Does the app work in landscape mode?
Can the app start with background mode?
Does the external (valve cap) sensor show accurate value?

I have been using this TPMS system in Volkswagen Polo and my MTCB head unit since 3 months now and couldn't be happier with it.
It activates when you press the button because it invokes the reverse camera display source every time you call it into action.

I have tried these two models purchased at Amazon and they work perfectly. I have them installed on my cars.
The only drawback is that you need Bluetooth 4.0 and HuiFei radio does not have it. I have commissioned an RX USB Bluetooth for Android on Deal Extreme, to see if it works.
So far I'm seeing it in my S5 Galaxy.

Turns out you need a special lead that I wasnt sent orignally, it plugs into one of the sockets on the back of the unit, theyre sending me one, I ll post again when I get it.

Anyone have a idea if this would work with a joying head unit.

Dont know, ask the seller.
But in any case if it works with a Joyous unit it will work with ANY MTCB head unit. There is no such thing as a "Joying" head unit - Joying/CarJoying are simply re-sellers of Shenzhen Joyous head units.

Yes I think.
It looks made specifically for these HUs. So I supposed they tested them.
And screens look like built-in TPMS app that I got preinstaled on my HU (KGL). So I supposed it should work.
But I would preffer ecternal sensors, not ibternal ones. I have 4x4 which reqiires regular tire rotation and ibternal sensors are not suitable as I would need to remove and refit them on every tire rotation.
Is there external versio? I couldnt find it on AlliExpress.

The one I mentioned in my first post has valve mounted sensors and obviously works with MTCB head units

Why? Sure, if they are somehow hard coded to location its sort of funny when they might not match the picture, but you only have 4 tires. Its pretty easy to check them when they are low.
You want internal sensors for TPMS. Less chance for losing them.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cable-Bueto...Tire-Pressure-Monitoring-System-/271315933336

I understand the point about tire rotation and internal sensors. Would it be possible to make the same rotation in the app, since all sensors are doing the same thing anyway? Eg. If you rotate your right front to right rear, make the same in the app to correspond with the sensor location?

Yes, mapping is possible. Depends on product.

Hi All,
I have also interest for this. Somebody could give some information ? It works, or any other bluetooth type, using with external attached bluetooth 4.0 dongle ?

Well, I found out most of the connections for the TPMS as Klyde didnt send me a lead - power and ground were easy same as the DAB box, then, as its just a mini usb connection its just data + and data -, I know where the one of those wires goes, and narrowed it down to 2 pins for the other, I ve tried both pins and several versions of the TPMS app, but cant get anything. I ve tried looking for BT devices on my phone I thought I found 1 but my phone wouldnt connect and the headunit's BT wouldnt see it, my phone wouldnt connect and after removing all the batteries on the TPMS it still showed up so it couldnt be that. Totally stumped, just cant get it to work.

TPMS-Type
Let me inform you that for some time I'm trying to find a TPMS system that works well with Android auto MTCB-C I have made several purchases and placements from various vendors I will mention my experience to help future stakeholders.
For GS, KD, and JY machines, the following set works very well:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/TPMS-for-SilverStrong-Android-CAR-DVD-Car-Tire-Pressure-Monitoring-System-4-Sensors-Alarm-Tire-Temperature/32803916037.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.IU13AC
It has its own very friendly app and it works with automatic start-up in the background and immediately informs if something goes wrong with the tires of the car, I recommend it for the above!
But last time I discovered another type with external valves that works very well with a Klyde machine and that's it:

Thanks for your post - I have the Last type, Klyde themselves supplied me with it, but they did not send me the lead and they did not reply to me when I asked for it, so I had to make one, but I still cannot get it to work, could you post a picture of the lead (the end that plugs into the head unit) so I can see which wires go where (I have seen the picture in your 3rd link before, but I cannot see where all the wires go) ?

Guide To DAB For MTCB/MTCC Head Units

There are several DAB options for MTCB head units :
1)The RTL type DVB-T/FM dongle and the Wavesink app, see this thread in the hardware mod section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...development/adding-dab-functionality-t3208344
2) Use DVB-T card or module specifically for MTCB head units and use the "radio" function. These can be bought with the head unit or purchased separately. Some manufacturers like KGL/HuiFei use and add on box, others like Klyde, use cards mounted inside the unit. In factory settings, at the last count, there were about 12 different types of TV tuner that can be selected.
3) Or use general Android USB DVB-T dongle and use the "radio" setting on its accompanying app. If this method is chosen, obviously you dont need to go into factory settings and pick a tuner, as these settings are only for DVB-T tuners bought with/for MTCB head units.
(Radio through a DVB-T card IS digital (using either MPG2 or MPG4 depending on the type of DVB-T tuner you have) but it is not DAB. Its also dependant on what radio channels your country chooses to transmit over DVB-T, for instance in the UK in my local area, none of the local stations are transmitted and not all of the national ones are either.)
4), 5) & 6) Dension sell 3 Android DAB products, one that uses BT to connect (which may prove a problem with the BT implementation on MTCB head units, edit: May 2016, the BT type seems to no longer be available), one that connects via USB and 1 that uses FM modulation (which means station names/info displayed via RDS in the FM/AM radio app, but a separate controller for the DAB for changing channels is needed) see here : http://www.dension.com/products#dab-radio-solutions
7) Navall sell a DAB module for their units, they sell both KGL (Hui Fei) units and also the Ownice head unit (the Ownice is NOT an MTCB type unit) see here : http://navallstore.com/Options/DAB -DAB-plus(Digital-Audio-Broadcasting)
8) Joying sell an add on DAB box (its not L band compatible though) : https://www.carjoying.com/joying-di...iversal-android-car-auto-radio-head-unit.html
9) FIAMM make a DAB antenna with built in tuner and BT, so youd simply install the antenna and use BT on your head unit to connect to BT (there is an app available), how it would work with the BT on MTCB head units, however, is unknown :
http://www.smartantenna.it/en/page-product.php
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fiamm.sm2&hl=en
10) And finally Klyde sell a DAB module specifically for their units (I ve just bought a new Klyde head unit with it). They use a DAB module made by Shinwa who also supply DAB modules to Blaupunkt, Pure and Philips. I m told it is not retro fittable as modifications are needed to the board, I ve tried to make it work on my non DAB Klyde unit. but I ve had no luck, so far at least. Its a separate module, but its quite small (approx 10cmx4cmx5cm). Its small enough to be mounted inside the unit, something I intend to do with mine. It uses the DAB app that started appearing in ROMs from June (2015), although they have recently updated it. I ve added pictures of the module and the new app. It works quite well, although I m not over keen on the interface of the app personally, but it can be modded like any other MTC app. As the DAB app appears in ROMs since June, its been developed by MTCB (who develop ALL the software for ALL the MTCB type headunit, which is why they are so similar and have interchangeable software, WHICHEVER manufacturer version you have) this may mean that the other manufacturers will have OEM DAB options soon - I m sure MTCB have not developed the DAB app just for Klyde. So far at least, Klyde is the only company selling DAB units that use this app, AFAIK Navall use a different app and set up.
Sweet! I may replace my current hu in the near future then; quad core and dab+ would be worth it
Does the app not give you channel list? Only next/prev?

Soz for delay, I m not getting emails when my posts get replies, for some reason.
Yeah, there is a channel list, you press the menu button on the top left I think, its hard to tell cos I using it with horizontally mounted DVB-T antennas so I only get that channel currently, I need to get a proper DAB antenna !
I ll change this thread to a general "DAB for MTCB Headunits" thread soon and list all the DAB/digital radio options - basically the Navall DAB module, RTL DVB-T tuners with Wavesink, this DAB module from Klyde and using a DVB-T card/module/usb TV dongle to receive digital radio through digital tv).
FYI, there's already a DAB thread started in the hardware section:

I saw the other thread, but that was specifically for using the Wavesink app with RTL dongles, which is technically a hardware "mod" as you are adding hardware, whereas this was meant to be a general DAB/digital radio guide, hence putting it in the "general" section, also, if you buy a unit with DAB already, its not a "mod". I ve added a link to the Wavesink DAB thread. Maybe you could re-name that thread "Using Wavesink for DAB" or something ? I think you d have to re-name this one as well, as I dont think threads can be re-named by non mods (take it youre a mod now Alex ?!), can you re-name it "Guide to DAB on MTCB headunits" ? And if there are threads about DVB-T dongles, the Dension DAB options and DVB-T tuner supplied with MTCB head units (I know all have been discussed in the original thread) I can add links to them in this thread also.
(Need to reply to your pms BTW Alex, I will do soon)
@dark alex - I found out how to edit the thread title - double click to the right of it before you go into the thread, changed title !
is there somewhere to get an updated apk for the DAB app for the pumpkin headunit, the one on it at the minute is dross....it wont store stations and if you switch screen views it dumps all it had 2 seconds before
Hi sorry for my english.
I'm italian. Dab is not diffuse.
My problem is mct radio because the AF not work. So i think to buy an external FM USB receiver.
Aswers:
1 Which i must buy?
2 can i connect car antenna directly to usb receiver?

@typos1 - would you please share your Klyde DAB apk ? From the picture it seems you have some newer version than I do. Thanks.
Sure its on the fileserver in the "apps" section.
Volume
has anyone using the new DAB app found out how to lower the volume so you can hear the navigation voices? the volume seems too loud and all other sounds are quiet?
This Klyde DAB+ unit sounds through Android or just you can control over Android and sounds trough MCU like the FM radio?

It should be MCU controlled like the FM/AM radio app.
@typos1 , have you had any luck on using the DAB module from Klyde with your other headunit?
It would not be that the module are using a usb port along with an analog input??
It wont fit on my JY unit because it lacks the 2 sockets on the back that KLD units have. Theres no usb on it, just those 2 plugs and an SMA for the antenna.
DAB App
Is the DAB App Version from the Fileserver the only one you have? It has to work with the DAB+ Module from Klyde. Does anyone know, how to use the app? At the first start I found national stations (like ENERGY) AND local stations (like hr). I'm living in Germany, so sorry for my bad english. After a factory reset, I only get the national stations, either with L-Band turned on or off. What can I do to get all stations?

I just have the DAB app that appeared in "OEM" app in June and the DAB (2) app that I put on the fileserver, just go through all the settings and play about with it. Are you sure its not the signal ? Do you have a boosted antenna ?
I have tested all settings with no luck. I don't think that it is the antenna because I am using the stock antenna wich is delivered with the DAB+ module.
In your Fileserver I can only find the dab(2).apk. Where can I find the oem version of the app?

Vehicle.apk

Hey guys.
I just discovered that inside the JY Android there is an app called simply "Vehicle". Appears to take out car info via can bus and display it, but only when you start the app. Plus the "settings" tab inside it appears to be inactive. Anyone know where does this app come from? Can't find it on Google Play and it doesn't appear to have any widgets to go with it, though it would be very useful to have some of those informations permanently displayed.
Really.. I haven't seen that..
So you are saying it is actually taped in to the ECU onboard computer and is grabbing information from it directly with out any need of the Bluetooth adapter that others are using?..
If that is the case that opens up a whole range of possibilities..
Not the least the one that is.. If this is running that and you are on the internet, in theory the car unit can be hacked and a third party can take control of it..
Especially in newer cars..
Hum... Interestingly...
I am thinking a little more into this as I run a chipped diesel engine..
We drop a chip into it to boast performance and it is getting plugged into the engine via one of the auto testing ports..
So in theory, if this unit is directly tapped into the ECU we might be able to control this chip via an app... Food for thought..

Yeap, it does grab them, as you say, but as far as I saw, it has nothing but one-way read-only possibilities. And the info appears to be the one that you can normaly access on your mfd, nothing more, except that it's all there in one single column. But for instance, the fuel quantity is displayed in real terms, in liters, the battery voltage is there aswell... and so on. I don't know how accurate the information is, but it would sure be useful to be able to have a widget on the unit's screen, based on that app, to display some or all of that info permanently. However, the fact that the unit grabs info from the car's computer without any OBD, Bluetooth or otherwise, is obvious... how else would it be able to show info like parking sensors, park trajectory, climatronic, an so on if it weren't able to do that. But my guess is that all that info is available though the can bus only, and you can only read it, not tamper with it.

It must be the decoder, however, if it's hardware or software issue I dunno. My first unit was as blind as a bat to the canbus, but my new unit came with a newer version of canbus decoder and software (from 1.01 to 1.07) and this one sees everything but the climatronic (odd enough). And you might want to track down the manufacturer for that...
Here's some winter news... the damn app doesn't recognise negative temperatures... outside was -7 (Celsius) and it was showing +6594:laugh::laugh::laugh: I must have landed on the sun's surface:silly:
I have one of these head units based on an RK3188 chip in my mini, and only today realised it was setup wrongly and the canbus type was set to BMW and not MINI.
WHat this means now is that suddenly it's on the CANBUS and my steering wheel volume etc are working as they should.
However...
I deleted the vehicle app when I was playing around with it, can an of you grab the apk and send me a copy of this?? Now I have the CANBUS working (i initialy thought I'd wired it incorrectly) the app should work and gve me fuel levels and MPG etc as the original head unit did.
Any help appreciated, I can't find this APK anywhere on the unit itself, and there doesn't seem to be anything on the play store like this.

Cheers

That is the problem with it... noone seems to know where did that app come from and who made it...
can't it be backed up to .apk from a working unit?

Well, the use would be in the fact it seems fairly discontinued, but is a useful app.
I downloaded and installed a newer version of the stock firmware, and this app wasn't included. I would like to put it back on, so if anyone can extract it and pass it my way, there's a bit of paypal kudos on the way...

Mine also has the latest update and the app is there. I don't think it's discontinued, just some chinese homebrew that doesn't appear on Gplay.

Android head unit choice for BMW e90 U.K

Hi Peeps
Really sorry if im in the wrong forum and im here to learn but hope someone can point me in teh correct direction
Im in the U.K and we dont seem to be able to buy Joying head units which seem to be popular in the states.
Im looking at Eonon or Xtrons mainly with the quad core processors and 5.1 Lollipop.
Is there anything i should be looking for or best avoided?
Thanks for any help, i really appreciate it.
Should be able to buy joying in UK they have a warehouse there try Amazon or eBay
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Thanks, Ive done a search on Amazon and ebay for Joying e90 and get no results, ive also been on the carjoying u.k website and they dont even list the e90 as an available option
Buy from joying direct they will ship via dhl quick
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
I have the xtrons e90 unit in my car. Seems similar to joying ect. One thing that took me ages to figure out as no instructions or guidance was given at all, was that there is two 12v yellow power leads and both need to be plugged in. One needs to go direct into the fusebox or to the battery.
Apparently BMW loses constant 12v power after a certain timer, roughly when the alarm system kicks in. So this means all power is lost to the head unit, including the small amount it needs to keep the MCU memory, which is your radio station presets and stuff. Also causing a much longer boot up. So I had to wire one of the cables into the central locking system fuse. Dead easy but you do need to buy a few bits from amazon for a few quid, otherwise the unit is a ballache.
Hope that helps
Cheers peeps, great advice. I've found auto pumpkin UK now so may order from them. The Xtrons , eonon and pumpkin all look identical so not sure if there is a difference as all seem to come from the same factory?
Should I be looking for the quad core 5.1 versions ?
Cheers all and thanks for the advise.
P.S I'll try and find the central locking fuse and use an add a circuit fuse to it.

I have just installed Erisin 3067B purchased directly from their website. It's a MTCD-based head unit. So far it is worth the price, although I had to struggle a bit to get everything working. In particular:
- The manual is almost useless. Moreover there are no installation details
- The head unit is very big and it is needed to move the AC controls in the lower part of the dashboard. I do not see how it is possible to add also the seats heating controls (I don't have them in my E91)
- Cable routing is easy. There are some videos on youtube regarding installation of Zenec car units. It took me 1h to get everything set
These are the problems I encountered:
- Quality of microphone, especially the external one, is very bad.
- The radio presets are lost every time I turn off the radio. No other settings are, therefore I guess it is software bug.
- exFAT is not recognized. So far I tried with a 64GB SDXC card and I only managed to read it when formatted as FAT32.

Thanks a lot!
There are several empty positions in the fusebox. Do you suggest to wire the BATT+ wire directly or to install it with a 10A fuse?

you could do either apparently.
Personally i just purchased these, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01E3PQWUE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and used one of them in the fuse for the central locking system, as it will always have 12v. Was really simple, tad fidly running the wire that's all.

I am having similar problems myself.
-BMW i-BUS it doesn't detect it at all. I need the CAN file for the unit, but no luck as of yet.
-Home button on the unit doesn't work anymore? Factory restore fix's but it stops again after 2 days!
-Most of the settings are locked from view. I access developer mode and it auto kicks me back to bluetooth phone menu.
- Front camera displays track and theres no option to remove it. So annoying!!
- LED colour APP has gone. This went after I did a MCU upgrade which I was given by seller.
- When I power up Clicker is always set to on. Front camera always resets to normal instead of saving mirroring. Other various settings are forgotten as are radio presets.
- Doesn't detect iPhone via USB only Bluetooth. But does charge... Slowly.
You had any luck with yours? I have a E90.

MTCB/MTCC Rom issues with ALPconnect app and Bluetooth

Hi Guys
Would really appreciate some help with this one, i am sure it been covered to some degree in other threads.
Since owning my unit I have wanted one application to run and I am not fussed about anything else, the app is ALPconnect.
ALPconnect is a application that connects to my radar detector via BT 4.0 only so it displays all the information on the dash for radar frequencies.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alpriority.alpconnect&hl=en
Due to the limitations in the Bluetooth, no current rom has been able to allow the application to turn the BT on and search for the ALPconnnect Module
http://www.alpriority.com/product/alpconnect-bluetooth-module-gen2/
Over on the other forum i am apart of http://radarandlaserforum.com, one member has spent upwards of 2000$ buying android head-units to see if this app would run and connect on it.
our small thread is ongoing at @ http://radarandlaserforum.com/showt...-InCar-Enetertainment-unit-ALPconnect-Testing about this issue.
I don't normally ask for help, but I could really use some help and I am sure others on the forum that purchased it for that reason would greatly appreciate it too.
This is the last information I received from agentdr8, thank you aswell
agentdr8 said:
It's severely limited, when compared to any other Android device with BT. This is due to the OEM's choice of the BC5/BC6 module, and their poor BT implementation. Instead of routing BT audio traffic through the Android system, like a normal device would, they route it through the MCU. That would be fine on its own, except they route pretty much all BT interactions through the MCU, via serial AT commands, which is very non-standard. Simple things like pairing, or using SPP profile just don't work, or require a bit of finagling.
On top of that, there's code (at least in MTCB; dunno about newer MTCD) in MTCManager that filters which devices can pair via BT for OBD use. It checks the device name and if it starts with OBD, it will allow it to pass to the next step during pairing. I can only imagine they chose to do that so they could sell their companion BT OBD adapters with the headunits?
My XMTC module had accounted for this limitation in name-based filtering (apparently not the only limitation though; if your adapter was at least v1.4 it should work), but it hasn't been updated to work on any 2016 roms. Since I no longer have time to maintain that project, it's been open sourced on my github. The BT pieces could be extracted into their own module, but I thought I had read someone else (maybe MVG70?) had made a BT xposed module for these devices to try and address compatibility issues.

Just as a thought
Would the MTCB be able to support external USB BT 4.0 thus removing the need for the messy internal BT

I think it's been discussed before, and no one has successfully added an external BT adapter to these headunits.
Has that group tried the app on the Parrot Asteroid? I know it wasn't the highest rated Android headunit, but it might be more "standard" than how these ones are configured.

Thanks agentdr8, but it does not really help the ones that splashed out and bought the HuFei units
Is the reasoning behind the external BT not working because nobody is interested in making it work or is it not technically possible?

Since the kernel is not open source, there's very little hope of adding the necessary drivers to support external BT adapters. Aside from that, I don't believe the BT stack that is included in these roms is standard.
I won't say it's impossible, as given enough time and money, anything is possible. But I doubt it's something anyone here can address without the sources.
Guess the manufacturer is reluctant to release the source then.

Just a couple of questions
1.Do you know if any developer is currently working injecting the drivers into the kernel, as impossible as it sounds.
2.If the manufactures were to fix this issue, what things should they include to make external BT work?
3.Have any of the manufactures hinted at releasing the source and letting other developers fix the issue with custom roms
Just on another note
I have 30 emails from Eonon saying that their tech cannot do this and have assured me that.
We have our own brand and R&D department.
We use our software.

Which I don't believe for a second
I'm quite interested in getting this fixed as well - I have both an ODB2 adapter and Navdy that I'm unable to connect due to this limitation. And the fact that there's no available workaround via External BT is infuriating.

From my understanding, the only way to get this to work is through an external (USB) BT adapter, since the built-in BT stack sends everything through the MCU instead of directly to android. So enabling the proper USB drivers for BT in the Kernel would fix it. I'm not aware of any other USB devices that don't work (maybe gamepads or other HID devices, unconfirmed) so it seems they've cherry picked which USB devices to allow. Considering the otherwise hackable nature of these devices, it'd make sense to me to just enable all available USB devices and let us plug in whatever we want to plug in.
I'm in the same boat. I have an OBD adapter (Hondash) which refuses to pair. I've tried 2 Xposed modules which are supposed to sort this. I'm wondering if my particular issue is down to my 5.1.1 ROM so might try it on my old RK3066 4.4.4 HU which I gave to my Dad.
So I'm monitoring this thread in the hope a fix is found.
I am doubtful, I have contacted Klyde/Eonon/others and nobody is willing to release the kernel source code or address the issue.
So when someone gets a copy from Klyde/some reseller/MTC or whoever and a developer has the motivation to correct it, that can be the only solution.
I have given up hope on this one
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Does anyone know the location in the Android file system where the Bluetooth pairings are saved?
FINALLY! Someone with a similar issue. I've got a Valentine One, and the BT module for android, (connecting using YaV1) and I've been trying to get my android unit to pair with it as well. In for potential solutions.
This question may be off topic, and I apologize for that, but are you referring to the app not being able to turn on BT and look for the adapter; just getting stuck at "Turning on bluetooth..."?
I have an OBDII scanner which I can pair no problem. When I use a specific app (OBD Card Doctor Pro (or reg)) and attempt to connect it, I get a prompt letting me know that an app wants to turn on BT. I click allow and then it just sits there and never does anything. Is that the problem ALPconnect has?
Torque does not prompt me with this and initiates the BT connection just fine.
The main issue here is that the bluetooth hardware is in effect emulated to the android subsystem for the nice bluetooth dialler front end so android has no real control over the bluetooth hardwrae. These headunits have some real downfalls and this is one of them What we need is to break this open and rewrite it. Without sources we can't do that. We could maybe dissasemble bits and replace them in code but the rom is factory odd and hacked to bits!

So this emulated effect is what causes my system get stuck "Turnning on bluetooth..." if I understand you correctly? There's no Android control over the BT hardware so the request is just lot in limbo?

Help identifying unit

In my other cars, I have simple 2 DIN Android units which are easily identifiable and I have flashed different ROMS and MCU firmware to those to get the desired interface and features that I needed..
But with the new unit I purchased for my 2003 Mazda 6, I am having trouble working out what type of unit it is.. I have no idea if there are other ROMs available, or different MCU versions. I would like to figure this out, so I can potentially work on fixing some of the little annoyances that this unit has.
The unit was purchased from AliExpress here.
I have attached screenshots of the details in the settings app, and the 'car settings' app also.
Overall, the unit is very responsive, and the software isn't too bad.. but it has a few issues i'd like to attempt to fix.
Any help identifying it, or links to any MCU firmware or Android ROMs for it would be appreciated.
Thanks
The main issue I want to resolve, is the 'cold boot' each time I start the car..
Now, I have noticed that when turning off the car, the stereo backlight is turned off (yet the LCD is still on, and can be seen if there is light from the correct angle, and the touchscreen still works) and the stereo doesnt actually 'shutdown' until around 8-10 seconds later. This leads me to believe that its possible to configure the unit to not shutdown, but instead 'sleep'.
Would I be correct in assuming that the MCU is in control of the unit being sent the shutdown signal? Therefore, I would need a different MCU firmware to be able to achieve my goal?
I've seen lots of different MCU and ROM versions for other units, so surely there is some for this unit also.
I cant help you I m afraid, apart from telling you that they are deffo not MTCB/C or MTCD/E units.
As Typos1 has said, it's not an MTCx unit.
I did find some info here: http://4pda.ru/forum/lofiversion/index.php?t877165.html
