Hello guys,
I've noticed something, that to me, seems strange about the display in the 4x HD.
Usually in black backgrounds. What i see is some kind of "static", as if there were little waves moving when i focus on the black background. I can see that on some dark grey backgrounds too. Anyway, another easy way for me to see it is to open the notification bar. It's easy to see on the transparent part with a black background behind it.
Is this normal? I tried to look for those things in my old xperia arc, but i couldn't find it.
Neither did i find any topics on this.
This would be a bad thing for me, since i've just gotten a new 4x (the first one i got had those "particles' of dust in the screen). And it was really hard to make them give me a new one. Now it would be pretty much impossible.
I don't really think it's a big deal, i guess, but you know, just to be sure.
Thank You!

Its not a normal behavior, I already had that once or twice but, maybe because I don't care a lot with the phone, sometimes I seat on it... or it falls... I care but not like if it was made of glass...
Try to squeeze it gently when that happends, maybe some kind of bad contact of the display, if doesn't disappear take it to the service center (unless if you live in Poland of course...).
To the OP: that actually happened to mine once. All I did was a simple reboot and everything was back to normal. It was kinda weird.
I don't know if you experienced the same thing that i did. They don't seem to go away. They are always there. After reboot too. I'll update firmware cause i haven't done that yet. Then i'll post back.
Thank You!

2nd thread, search please before posting. Also check out the movie the grinch.
turn off your powersaving apps and change your screen settings powersaving mode.
Please can you attach a photo? We can't tell you if its a hardware problem, energy save config or a kind of bug. When you turn on your phone, the green tint is still in the bootscreen? or just when the phone powers on completly?. We need more info please! Good luck! Sorry my bad english!

bummer for you,
ok then I guess you have a hardware issue. See if its a warrantee covered. If its hardware issue not caused by your experimentation that is.

is the word Galaxy note also displayed in green when you first turn on the phone?
the galaxy note moniker is part of the bootloader ,the samsung moniker is part of the kernel and the OS.
if you get a clean Galaxy note splash screen then maybe there is hope ,but if not then I think that confirms it's a hardware thing.
best of luck.

I guess you know but just to be sure...you really should bring it back to stock rom and kernel first and check your binary counter. Otherwise you won't have any warranty.
My note became awfull yellowish over time and 'luckily' also had a heavy burn in problem. Send the device in 'as stock' and my screen was replaced under warranty without questions.
btw. my experience with the Sammy service center was good, received the device back within a week.
S'pose you don't like Shrek to huh.....oeps...sorry...couldn't resist.....
Good news,
My screen is going to be replaced under warranty without questions!! They took a look at my Note and said : Oh we have to replace the screen.........that simple!!
Hope to have it done on thursday. After that it's happy flashing again.

I'm all clear again . Whitin 15 min. my screen was replaced and that same night i flashed the succer back to it's "normal"state !!!
Custom Rom r superrrrrr
Happy Flashing
good service example, you went straight to Samsung service centre?
definitely an LCD issue. You know its not the rom when it's green before the rom starts. And since the screen shot is digital, it won't show you green if it's the LCD.

it`s a software bug.. But not to all, depends where are u from.. anyway i use CyanogenMod 10.1 now.. and works perfectly fine... touch response it`s very very good.. and no issues so far .. so don`t worry , if you like this phone just buy it. hope i helped you .. Sorry for my english
Well the touch issue can happen and also can stay away. I only have touchissues when my device is hot and charging.. I also get a shock from the charger, which tells me that there is something wrong in the cable.
Hello again friends,
So,after a while of asking and comparing devices,I finally got My Z1 yesterday, but guess what?I found out that it has the touchscreen problem!I realized it after doing the test..now I dont know if it can be fixed by some software or something or if I must return it to the store and wait a loooong time till they bring me another one which will probably have the same problem |-(
What can I do?any thoughts?
Please man, use the search button, we have A LOT of posts about this problem, we have a possible solution for it, just serach on the forum and you will find.....

Ok, some questions, On the box of your phone is write "Made in Brazil"? If you put your phone on a flat surface, wait 30 sec and try to scroll a page it will fail? When you are playing a game and the phone is hot your touch fails? If yes you have a hardware problem, ask for a replacement, i had to change my phone 3 times until find a working one, my other 2 Z1 was made in Brazil, now the working one is made in China, some people with the China one have this problem too, but is rare. The Brazilian version is having an assembly problem, causing bad contact, if this is your case change the phone.

Ok, make a try with games and see if the problem will appears, i recommend you to do the following, pick a camera and record the problem when it appears, then take to store and change the phone, BUT before you go out test if the problem will come on the new phone, that was what i did, i stayed 3 hour inside the store testing
@MakaMika Sorry to say but you can join us here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540950
Anyway, still some chance to fix this touch screen problems with a software, a good new FW which we wait for it but I will not wait until that and I will send the phone back to the store when you bought it a tell them to fix it or replace with a new device, like I did. The phone still under warranty and should be issues free and it's not so you have the rights to send it back. Sony Service will decide if repair or replace.
3 hours???LOOL I guess i ll try the gaming test, what game do you recomand to heat up the phone quickly?

Yo eclyptos, have you checked the sony forums? one of the mods replied that a software fix that will cure our ****ty problem will be released in the next update. Cross fingers for that.
My problem occurs even when browsing pictures, swiping in the pattern lock and gaming especially Shooting games like CK2

This hardware issues can be managed via software that is why we wait for that FW. BTW we are not sure when and how and if it's hardware or software related but new FW should definitely help. They are aware about this issues and they point the FW in that way to fix it.

Me too. I try to clarified, Sony never confirmed it's a hardware problem of they touch screen. People has different Touch Screen issues, someone when touch the aluminium frame the Touch Screen start working well again, someone else don't have that but have problem scrolling pages or opening the phone with pattern even if they touch the aluminium frame or not. So here is the confusion, who have to touch the aluminium frame to let working the Touch Screen saying it's a hardware related (kind of wrong phone sealing) and others who have the problem even when touching the aluminium frame or not saying it's a software related. Many said also after the update to 4.3 the touch screen get worse, like mine. Now do you understand the confusion? Many send the phones back via warranty, many waiting for a FW pointed to fix this issues. Developers are aware about this Touch Screen problem so they try to fix it, even if seems hardware related, with the release of the new updated FW .114, .124 or 136, who know?
Yes,I get you.mine works well when touching the aluminum frame.I guess after all i should return it,didnt even enjoy the few days of having it
Are you sure that a hardware problem can be solved with software update? I mean, i know that software can turn around some issues, but this is not certain

Exactly, we don't know this yet. We have to wait for a new FW pointed to fix this problem. If they do it's a software issue.

You definitely should send it back. The FW I think it's the last chance.
Anyone notice that the screen ripple on the edges without putting hard pressure? just like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLRJaKAAVbc
