I'd like to buy the Mate S. I saw, however, that is not the possibility to transfer the applications on the microSD card.
To do this it would be possible to do the Root and then move the apps on microSD eg with Link2SD?
Thank you
Sorry for my not good English.

No need to do this
You have an option in storage setting to make the SD card the
Default.

Thank you for your answer.
But I checked in Settings> Applications, and I did not find the command "move to SD card", as it has been on my current Sony Xperia Z1 or other phones.
Perhaps the S Mate has a different way of managing the Apps?

Hello,
i am running either CM7 or MIUI on my Nook.
however i bought an increased size sd card now, and i transferred whatever i had to my new card. But i cannot enter into recovery to update the ROMS.
Any ideas what should i do to correct this?
Thanks
Definitely there's a way to do it, in fact, someone had reported doing it by cloning the old uSD. Some others said of using some sort of tools.
I'll post the link if I stumble across once again.

First off I would like to place my thanks to all the developers and techies offering there knowledge to newbies, those just getting into this its so valuable and appreciated especially from an old man like me.. It takes me twice as long to grasp it.. Heres my deal I have the N7000 and have just flashed rocketromJBv2 runs great.. in reading the install notes I did not see where many are talking format system, all I have is delvick, wipe/userdata/, wipe cache, am I missing something or when there talking format are they meaning the wipe/userdata thanks...
format /system is in the mounts and storage menu..
---------- Post added at 11:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:18 PM ----------
it is required for a clean install on any new rom.. but if the new rom is working fine, it doesnot matter
format internal

For clarification and if I'm understanding correctly, This is formatting the internal memory card. so one does this while they still have access to the phone, and its the only time u can do it while the phone is operating. or can it be done in cwm.?? thanks
just the part where the rom is installed and not the entire internal memory.
The option is there in cwm
So I installed cyanogenmod today. I actually reinstalled it after having problems with it for a while but since the reinstall hasn't fixed it I finally decided to just ask it .
So.. The problem is that it seems that my memory is read only. I only use internal memory (I've got an xperia T) since it is big enough for me atm. It has like 5Gb of space free but whenever I try to download something using the webbrowser app it says that it is unable to download because "no name". Another problem is that I can't download from dropbox neither and when I try to take a screenshot of my screen it can't save it.
Now I have read that cyanogemod reserves space for itself but im pretty sure it doesn't need 5gb of memory. So I guess I should make a virtual external sd or something but I don't know how and I am also not sure if it will fix the problems.
(keep in mind that downloading from the playstore does work)
Mod Edit

I think it is a problem with NTFS format, android not support it well. The best choice is Fat32 or EXT4. To get 100% working sdcard on android and via PC, format sd card in recovery

hello had the same issue, and found out that its an issue on the sdcard itself, you will need to reformat it, unfortunately,

What I did is since it seems the sd card is not being recognized, I was told from help support that I need to reformat it.
I was able to back up the contents to my laptop then reformat it. tried the process again and it the sd card mounted after I reformat it.

I have had some trouble with my phone since dropping it.
Now sometimes it does not turn on and it took me an hour or so trying to turn it on, (it made the vibrate sound but nothing on screen at all).
And my pc/laptop does not recognize the phone when i plug it via USB although the charge icon changes :S
the last backup i made was many months ago with pc companion.
Is there a way i can make a backup of all messages/numbers ect..
I am planning on getting the exact same phone tomorrow so would like to just swap it all over.
Thanks
Have you installed Clockwork Mod and can access to it? It has a backup option.
By the way, if you can't use USB how do you plan to move the backup from the phone to the PC in order to move it to the new phone?
If you just want to backup contacts, messages, call log, calendar. You can use "Super Backup" from play store. No root needed.
To backup apps, you can use "AppMonster".

Stock Backup and Restore app does the job, just remember to choose the SD card as the backup storage. You can choose what to backup, including third-party apps and their settings.

Obviously, but I wrongly assumed that he couldn't boot on Android and was stuck at boot (that happened to me a while ago) , if it's not the case then there wouldn't be any problems if he owns a MicroSD.

The phone is currently on, but if it's turned off it will not start again for hours, takes ages trying to get it to turn on.
Update on this:
Managed to transfer ALL my pics and vids (contacts.sms and convos) via a file manager over wireless (took hours lol)
What do you guys suggest i now do with this phone? what would need replacing? or be causing the SD card and usb not to work? (it charges via USB, but i have to plug in and unplug a few times)
