I have a HTC One m7 with Android 5.0.2, 7.19.401.30, kernel from ElementalX 3.4.10.
I've been using the headphones jack at least once a week, and a MHL cable almost everyday to play movies or music on the TV, but some days ago the phone wouldn't recognize the MHL cable. I searched a bit and found that some people just clear the cache and dalvik cache and it works again. I did it, didn't work, then restarted again and it worked. One day after that I wanted to plug my headphones and the phone wouldn't detect them. I restarted a couple of times and then it worked. To make the phone detect the MHL cable I usually have to connect and disconnect the cable at least 10 times... Today I noticed another problem: the personal dictionary word list erases everytime I restart the phone, and it didn't happen before.
So the question is: are the problems connected, and if I flash the same ROM over the installed one to see if it works fine again, will I lose any data?

Recently Im having a big problem connecting my htc diamond to pc.
Im using the original usb cable,
At the moment i connect the cable to my phone it freezes and the only way to get it working again is taking the battery out of the device.
Its a pretty fresh rom, 1.37...
I turned all (weather and quick gps) applications not to auto update when synced to the computer.
I tryied several soft resets and it doesnt work either.
Also trying to connect it to another pc didnt help.
It happens most of the times, despite very few times it actually worked fine.
I'll be more than glad if anyone helps me to get things work again.

Okay here is the issue, I had cooked rom working just fine for several months now and few days ago it happened. One of my friends called and I pickup the call and the sound from speaker, and the mic stopped working. So I figured to hard reset, no big deal did it a million times, first wanted to sync to save all my new appointments and contacts. When I plugged the pda thru usb nothing happened, after many tries of making a connection, I gave up and tried flashing new rom. Here is the funny part I thought my usb connection was screwed up, but when I went into bootloader on the pda I was able to flash new rom from pc, usb worked fine. But after trying 6 different roms still no connection except thru bootloader, I even flashe stripped stock rom and no success. Tried 3 pc and reinstalled activesync which was weird because the pc recognized there was usb connection then all disappeared. Tried disabling Firewall, I am using WinXp SP3. Please help.

Hello! I know, I know. There are a lot of different threads according to this problem but I read almost everything and still cannot fix my problem.
A few weeks ago when I tried to charge my phone the message: Your cable is not compatible with your device. Please use the orginal HTC-cable or your phone get damaged. appeared.
until that moment I thought it doesnt matter if I use a htc cable or a cable from another brand. I mean they changed all the ports to a micro-usb-port. Just to give you the opportunity to use every cable.
Well, after that I tried to connect my phone with my computer and the HTC Car app appeared and bluetooth got switched on. WHY?
I did a factory reset and flashed my rom again. Now I can connect my HTC One with my computer and on the screen of my computer appears the message:
"Device not recognized "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
(and its unable to mount otg-usb in recovery)
I tried different cables. I tried to (un)install and update the HTC drivers. I tried different computer. I tried turning usb debugging off and on! I tried to clean the USB-pins! nothing works! :crying:
(Unfortunately I have no old backup with my new TWRP v2.6.)
I just have been abroad for 6 months and dont wanna loose all my photos and videos. Any ideas?
I think its a software issue on my phones. Maybe something with my partitions. But I dunno what I can wipe without deleting all my photos and videos.

To get all your video and photo offline.
Install Software Data Cable from playstore, and download all your data through FTP Application, for example Filezilla.
You need to be connected in the same wireless network though.
Hy everyone! I seriously need your help.
Since 5 days my HTC ONE reacts strangely when I connect it to my computer. I can't connect my phone to my Pioneer Appradio 3 as well.
In fact when a plug it to my computer, it connects normally for 1/2sec and then disconnects. Then reconnects, disconnects, etc... It's the same in recovery mod and safe mode. The phone keep charging normally when I use the HTC charger. And the phone is recognized on fastboot.
I got a video of the problem if it's needed.
I am actually using the last VENOM ROM ViperOne 6.2.1. I tried to downgrade it, to change rom, to make a factory reset, but nothing changed.
My phone is actually rooted, unlocked, and S-off. I tried to connect it with different kind of cable, but it's always the same issue.
Did someone already have this kind of problem? Is there any solution?

This is really odd.. Recently I have started using my Chromecast in a new TV that has a USB port on it. Before I was just using a normal HD TV without USB port so had to use the wall plug to get power to the Chromecast.
First time I used the device on this TV I used my phone to set it up, worked fine, used it for a few hours turned off TV and next day I tried connecting to the Chromecast but phone kept saying that nothing was found on the network, tried using both my phones to set it up but it didn't let me ( I have an GPe HTC One M7 and also an iPhone) , used a computer to set it up and it worked fine. Today I tried connecting to it again same issue, but now for some reason even on the computer its not allowing me to set up the Chromecast. I've had to do a factory reset every time I try connecting the device to my wifi network. When it was being used on my old TV I have never come across this issue, used to leave it unplugged for days sometime a month went pass and it still worked fine but don't know why on this new TV it is doing this.
I'm not too sure what to do, do I contact Amazon and get a replacement or contact Google?
I purchased it from Amazon on the first day it was released here in the UK (19th March 2014).

t's possible the TV USB port is not providing stable enough Power for the Unit.
Try by plugging it into the wall again...
If the problem remains then it is possible the new TV is heavily shielded and blocking the WiFi signal from having a good and stable connection.
