Back screen button not working - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using my Z3 compact for a year now then suddenly, the back screen button is not working.
I've tried fixing the firmware through PC companion and Factory data reset but none of them works.
It's kinda weird because when I used my phone in landscape, the 3 buttons became unresponsive but when I'm in portrait, only the back button is not working. I also tried to enable glove mode and back button works perfectly fine
Any solutions or possible reason why it is like that?
Or should I try to wait first for the next update to see if it can fix the issue?

My Kaiser has issues. Any suggestions?

This morning I woke up to find that my kaiser's buttons were non-responsive. after about 2 min of testing, I found that only two buttons on my kaiser worked, the power button, and the center button (it acts like the windows button now WTF???). Also, when I power on the device, I see the dialer pop up, and the following W on the far right, wich is replaced with S, then Z, then X. (can you say WTF???) The touch screen works perfectly, and none of the keys on the keyboard work.
I would love suggestions on what to do to fix it (I am not afraid to take it apart, I just need a torx-5 bit), and barring that, suggestions on a new phone.

Try hard reset first.
solution..!
hi
first try soft reset, and if that doesnt work then uninstall some program and after each uninstall soft reset
if this doesnt do it for the device then there only one option---->HARD RESET
regards
Hi,
maybe it's a an issue using a creen locker like Sunscape, ThrottleLock or S2U2. Try uninstalling them (it), could help.
Well, I soft reset it a couple of times, same result, I can't hard reset it, because the button combination does not work, and neither does clearstorage. it looks like it's a hardware problem to me.

Black Screen

My Fiancee's G1 wont turn on at all,No T-mobile slpash screen or nothing.LED lights turn on and Call,Home,Back and Power buttons light up except for the screen itself her phone wasnt rooted,I have never experienced this before.
Can someone please help?
the phone is not turning on via the power(end) button???
try pressing the camera button and keeping it pressed, also press the power button to enter into hboot mode...if u succeed in entering that mode, the phone is fine, or else it could be bricked.
Try Home+Power see if you can get into recovery mode.
If you can wipe cache data.
Hi everyone, hope it's okay to post this here since this Question relates to mine.
I'm having a trouble like this except instead it's like my backlight went out, it was working fine until my alarm on my phone went off and when I went to turn it off I had to take the battery out of my phone because the screen wasn't pulling up. It flashed basically, so when I put the battery in the screen came on but no backlight. Could it be due to Cyanogen? I'm restoring my backup to see what else could I try?
could u be a bit more specific?phone is working??? calls etc???or are u stuck somewhere????
As I said, the screen came on but no backlight. The phone works fine except for the backlight I'm trying to figure out if it's a hardware issue or a software issue. I don't know how much more specific I can get really except that the only way to see the screen is to hold it at a certain angle so the light hits it just right.

Touchscreen dead?

Hey, recently I was just using my phone and it wouldn't respond to any of my touches / screen presses. I tried doing a factory reset (using CM 7 stable), but it still doesnt work. The menu buttons arent working either, but the trackball works fine. If I press REALLY hard down on the screen it registers my input. Any idea what happened or how I can fix it?
Was playing with a phone just last night with a non-responsive touchscreen. Couldn't get past the "Touch the Android to Begin" screen after reinstalling CM7. I found that if I gently pressed and twisted the bottom of the phone around the trackball, the touchscreen would come back. Give it a shot.
Have you ad trouble with this from before? Try installing another rom with wipe

Black screen with backlight

HI every body, I have a problem and I'm asking for help
a while back my HTC HD7 felt in the sea. I managed to get it dried and fixed and it worked fine
but every now and then the screen goes black. normally i fix the problem by taking the battery out
the problem happened again a few days ago, and the screen won't turn on, when I turn the phone on I see the backlights turning on and the touch work fine and I can hear the keys and the unlock screen sound, but can't see anything
I tried to do a hard reset but the volume up key is not working so I can't access the hard reset menu.
my question .. is the a software to do a hard reset via PC. or can I use the headphone volume keys instead of the device ones???
I'm running WP 7.8 official, and a window 7 on PC.
please any help is appreciated ...
thanks

[Q] My Xperia Z is controlling itself

Hi guys,
I recently got my Xperia Z back from repair. I had it in because when I pressed the power button to unlock it, sometimes the screen would stay black and I wouldn't be able to see anything, but I could still use the touchscreen.
So I got my phone back with a new LCD screen and it's been a week now and it hasn't had that problem at all, but I'm having another problem.
My phone is randomly controlling itself. When I unlock it, every once and a while it starts pressing all the buttons on the screen. Opening up the task manager, swiping left and right, opening up the camera, etc. Just going completely haywire.
So to fix it, I tried a factory reset, but that didn't work. Then I got a new update for android, and for about a day it worked perfectly but now it's back at it again and controlling itself, pressing all the buttons etc. I had an alarm set this morning and I couldn't even turn it off because of it.
It's completely stock, I haven't even tried flashing or rooting or anything like that, and I'm running Android 4.4.4. Model number is C6603.
Anyone know what could be causing the problem?

there is some issue with touch calibration or some issue with the digitizer.

Well it happens before I even touch anything on the screen, so would that point to the problem being the digitizer?
