Since 2-3 weeks ago I've lost the GPS on my XT1052. It has been working ok with the stock Lollipop 5.1 version since the update on June.
I've tried deleting modemst1 and modemst2, and it worked for 1 day (It got a lock on several satellites on GPS Status app) but sadly, it dosn't work anymore, even if I delete them again.
I've tried deleting Google Services cache, rebooting, resetting the GPS status, etc..
Will installing another ROM solve this issue, or is there any other things I can try without changing the ROM or rooting (my bank app will not work if rooted)?

Hi togehter,
I bought a Galaxy S3 Mini i8190N from an offer here in germany last month, the phone has a sim net lock. First of all I am experienced with flashing custom roms. But for my issue I never found any available topic.
I had no problem rooting the device and I can also install and run several custom roms, but for non stock roms I never see any satellites in view (GPS Test, GPS status & etc.) Everything else runs fine, WLAN, BT etc.
I tried to change the ntp pool settings to germany / europe, but this doesn't help (Faster fix, also manually system/etc/gps.conf).
In stock roms / custom stock roms GPS is working fine and I get a fast fix, I see a lot of satellites.
What I also tried:
Going back to orignal stock rom. Made a hard factory reset.
I tried flashing with Odin and also with TWRP v2.7.1.0 20140612, but this also does not fix the problem
Before installing non stock rom, I made a factory reset and deleted cache/system/davlik cache, but gps is never working. The symbol is appearing, if a app wants to access GPS and I also changed gps settings to high resolution.
Does anybody else have same problems?
Roms I tested Carbon, Omni, Slimrom, Cyanogenmod (MacLaw), I also tried Omnirom from goldenguy
I can provide more informations, if someone has an idea about it.

Update:
Hi together,
I again started to understand why GPS works fine in roms like R-Mod3 (Cutstom STOCK) and does not work for all kitkat roms >=4.4.2.
Enclosed you find the debug logs of google maps and gps test for omni-4.4.4-20140801-golden-HOMEMADE . In both apps I get errors in debugging. Can someone help me understand the problem here?
I guess it's a driver issue for android versions higher than stock rom.
Have you tried CM10.1?
Hello everyone,
As the title says I have a problem on my S3 (i9305).
First of all I want to know that it has been dropped or anything,
I put the official version 4.1.2 (the DBT for Germany was the latest then) instead of 4.0.4, rooted + busybox + modem network Vodafone Romania (XXBLL5) and it worked just fine until yesterday.
I arrived at work I checked my mail via wifi network, I disconnected I put on charger and after an hour I removed to make some mail and then give it to initialize wifi stupor show he wants to start and stop and did not want in any way to start a (looks like starts and stops).
Good now seeing that I got it and I somewhat empirically and did the following things:
-clear cache, wipe Dalvik, reset permisions - still did not work
-restore the Nandroid for wifi - did not work
I managed to got mad and threw factory reset - still not working height
-continuing with nervousness I flashed phone about 4 times with different versions 4.1.2 and version 4.3 but bootloader of 4.1.2-
Normally he did not want none and some gave the "camera failed" error.
All versions have been flashed after wipe cache, dalvik and factory reset so I say something to remain excluded from one another.
Now I'm on a Vodafone version 4.1.2 on sammobile after I haunted a bit on the internet I saw that its more people with this problem and someone had an alternative after you rename the file "wpa_suplicant.conf" in root / data / misc / wifi.
I did this and go but it is something temporary peak for once stop or restart your wifi is not working and another thing
mobile internet does not work without you come in APN and reset its there.
Sorry I did read both but I do not understand the phenomenon and to solve it because there can not be a hardware problem but rather a problem or write permission on the root folder.
And now comes the question: is there a solution to my problem or a way to see if some parts are protected to rewrite or corrupt?
Sorry for my english i use google translate.
I'm starting to get extremely pissed off with my phone.
This week the Play Store app stopped loading on wifi. Then the Indeed app stopped working completely. I went through all the various steps people say help, which none of them did. I tried uninstalling the updates for Play Store, clearing data, cache, setting clock manual and auto, formatted, re-installed ROMs, NOTHING is working properly.
Every time I loaded a new ROM, I couldn't get my Google account to connect. Now, after trying to install OS 6 (that brazil one), I'm stuck at the very beginning set up window after I've connected to my wifi (checking connection.............), and the cellular is dead (I've tried re-flashing the 2 radio files twice, doesn't help).
TWRP is missing now, I've tried to install that again but it doesn't load, I just get that janky recovery that was installed when I flashed the M rom, so I can't seem to flash any other ROMs now.
I don't know what to do at this point besides toss it under a bus. Any suggestions?
Blend it?
Hello guys
I have stock android 6.0 [24.11.18.victara_reteu.reteuall.en.Eu retfr] on my Motorola Moto X 2014 [XT1092] after OTA update to android 6.0 I have always random reboot's on it. I search for all internet about a possible fix and I think I tried almost everything but I have hope can solve this problem.. Put on Moto X 2014 forum too but is a old device without much visibility!
I have try to hard resed and wipe caches (don't know how many times I did it, probably 100 with various configurations). Last time I do it I just reset/wipe and initiate the phone without sim-card and internet (always skip) after that I put the sim-card without 4G and WiFi and didn't install or update any type off app (Google's backup is disable and I clean everything I could about old's data) and the phone always reboots (think we never could stay 24h on without a single reboot, this is so frustrating).
Hardware phone problem? System operating problem (is stock and didn't see nobody like me)?
Any one have suggestions what I could do more or someone have this problem with your stock device?
Thank you for the time dispend reading this :good:

as long as the phone
does not have
a custom recovery
and unlocked bootloader
root
you should be able to take it to a shop - the place you bought it and explain
if you don't know what an unlocked bootloader or custom recovery is - your good to go
My phone is a T-Mobile branded HTC One M7 with Android 5.0.2. A few days ago, I received an OTA Android update and since then, WiFi has been unusable.
When WiFi is turned on, the phone sees and connects to the WiFi access point, but a error message pops up, "Internet Connection Unstable" with the SSID of the access point displayed below.
I contacted HTC support and was advised to wipe the cache partition. This did not work, and the next bit of advice was to do a factory reset on the phone. I'd like to avoid that if possible... has anyone else encountered this issue?
Thanks.
Earl
UPDATE: this turned out to be not a problem with the phone. I found a rogue DHCP server on the network that was causing the instability.
they might be right, a full reset is quite useful after a ota update (for HTC phones). After upgrading to lollipop I did have a couple of bugs (tho none as major as the one you're describing) and I had to do a factory reset to get everything working flawlessly.
And after trying to upgrade from stock 7.19.401.102 to 7.19.401.121 my m7 stopped working altogether, it got stuck in a bootloop at HTC's logo. I had to flash a nandroid backup I made when I was on KitKat and then upgrade to 7.19.401.102 lollipop, do a full reset, upgrade to 7.19.401.121, and then another reset. That fixed everything for me (maybe the factory resets weren't necessary in that case tho). But I no longer care about htc's stock roms to go through such trouble again.
HTC's ota update seem to have lots of bells and whistle (and annoyances) going about them, which is why I'm on 6.0.1 crdroid ROM.
try clearing the settings app data (from settings>apps) or the WiFi app data. There's no guarantee it'll work but it's better than having to do a full reset.
