Hi all,
I would like to know if skype is finally operatable for samsung galaxy s I9000. even just without video.
If it is, the last i have tried it wouldnt log in and crash. is there a way to make it work?

I've been using it for months, video doesn't work but chat and voice calls worked fine.

program works fine. it just that it drains the battery of my phone to fast...
I am using it for the past 3 months. I guess that u had problems with ur older rom.

I am using it since november with no major problems...(status bar won't slide down sometimes).. There is no option for video call, but I am pleased just with voice call.. If you need video call , search market for "tango video calls"

My info (tab) > Status > Sign out. Then exist the client by pressing back button. This option has been there for quite a while now.

Does anyone know of any apps that allow you to send texts from your phone through your tab other than SyncSMS. Sync is great and all but the interface is terrible and I'd like to have the ability to only sync sometime.

Alright so this is actually exactly what I was looking for which is awesome but I can't get it to send messages out through the Talk app. Receiving works wonderfully though any ideas?

If you have Google voice you can send texts through there... all u need is internet access. That's how I send texts on my tab. Just set up a free account on your phone, log into gvoice on your tab and blammo you have texts on your tab. I don't even use normal phone texting anymore as Google texts don't apply to text messaging so I saved a bunch of money by eliminating unlimited texts from my phone service and put myself down to like 500 texts or something like that for 5 bucks a month, never go over because Google texts use 3g or wifi to transmit

I try it on my cyanogen ICS alpha 18 and it work well, the problem is that some time is a bit slow, or (for example with skype) not work very well (when I login to Skype start to vibrate for some second...
I have another question, there is also the possibility to display sms or missed call like push notification with locked screen or in home without change launcher?

As many people suggested SMS pop is great, if you just want SMS pop up. You could also try chomp SMS and GO!SMS, you'd have to get use to a new texting app though. GO!SMS is nice though IMO. I prefer stock ICS Message app but meh
So it looks like I'm getting myself an N7 as my first Android device. I'm coming from using an iPad and it's built in messaging app to communicate with my wife and son via their iPods over wifi. What messaging app would you recommend we switch to once I have my N7 in hand?
Good question I'd like to know as well. Is there any way to send/recieve SMS texts from the wifi only N7?

I recomend GTalk , everybody has a google (gmail) account nowadays.

Google voice for sms/ add grove ip to that and get full phone functions .
Tablet talk if you want to relay text and calls to and from your tablet thru your phone..
there is also tab text .. sync sms. and a few others out there..
IF your phone does not support tethering to do the above using your phone. You can try pda.net app from tablet.. I think it still works for most handset/tablet variations..

Agreed.
And more people should be using it.
A lot of people have an android phone and don't even know you can video or voice call using Gtalk.

Hello so i am running into this issue where i can receive emoji. I can type emoji however when i send the receiver gets a blank space where my emoji should be. Tried setting that unicode stuff to automatic made no difference. Maybe somone has experienced this before. I am running tweaked 4.4.2 note 3 on at&t attached are screen shots any help appreciated

I've only seen this when the person your sending it to, don't have emoji on there phone. Like 4.2 Android.

Thanks for the Response,
I have confirmed that the people I have texted have emoji, They text me emoji, and I am able to see them, however when I reply, they don't see them and neither do I.
The receivers are on Note 3 and S4. This never happend on any of the other Roms I have ran.
