So I have a new Note 5 (Sprint).
I use Evolve MMS. I'm on stock Sprint ROM.
2 problems.
1) It does not seem a text with an attached photo is getting sent. I do have data on, and a good LTE signal.
(The stock messaging app shows the pic but says "unable to send attachment.")
Second, The High res photos the Note 5 takes are nice, but how can I send a lower resolution version via text?
Any advice?
Thank you
Maxi

I'm surprised that I'm the only one taking a stand on this issue:
Hasn't anyone noticed that when receiving MMS pictures with the new crossbow roms they are downscaled dramatically? No longer are we able to receive the full file size of the picture message sent. For example, if a friend were to send you a 91kb picture message, your HTC device would download the file and downscale it to 160x120 with size 5-15kb. At first i thought this was a network issue, but when i tried the standard T-mobile rom and the Custom WM5 rom 2.26 by Xelecin, i was able to receive the picture messages in actual size.
Is everone content receiving microscropic choppy picture messages? Is there some type of registry fix for this?
I just took a 640x480 pic on my phone. File size is 63K. I then used my phone to send the pic to myself. The incomming MMS had a 63K, 640x480 pic attached. I'm running the new Faria WM6 ROM.
I'm pretty sure when I sent a pic with WM6 MBE to my wife, she got a full sized pic also (but I really didn't check it).
PM me and I can MMS you a pic, and you can send on to me so we can compare results if you want.
BTW:Have you verified in your MMS settings that "Photo Resolution" is set to Original? QQVGA (160x120) is one of the options here, which seems to be what you are seeing happen. Go to MMS, then click Menu > Tools > Options..., Click on MMS, and under Preferences tab scroll to the bottom for Photo Resolution.
Ok htc pure Flashed with energy rom
before this i had a Nokia e71x when i send a picture through a text message it would get to them but now with the pure, it wont . it just shows a text message.
is there a different txt messaging program i can use? I have unlimited text so i dont want a program that would use the web to text.
thanks guys
First, you have to have a data plan to send MMS.
Try sendin as MMS
Hey, have had the Captivate for about 2 months now. Its been great so far, however I encountered a problem when I tried to send one text message to more than 10 people. The message:
Maximum Number of MMS recipients is 10
appears whenever I try to do this.
First off, I am not trying to send an MMS, it's just a regular text message. Second this seems like strange limitation for a smartphone(former Win Mo user here ).
Is there some work around for this? I purchased this phone for mainly business use and this is a feature I absolutely need to work. Thanks!
Try it with ChompSMS. I did not have the notification when i added more then 10 contacts. I never actually sent a mass sms so i dont know if it will work.
is there a way to send a higher quality photo or video on my phone? I have go sms but changing the mms size thing docent work.
AT&T network only supports 600kb size for MMS. You can get your phone to attach large size file but AT&T will only upload 600KB. you can use alternative texting apps like WhatsApp to send larger size pictures and videos.
Email them
Sent from my LG-P925
i did use a alternate app but i was hoping for the full size image.
I recently was sent a text message that was over 160 characters from an iPhone to my HTC One, and I noticed that the iPhone doesn't separate the messages into 160 character msgs, or the HTC one - for one reason or another - didn't get the rest of the message as a second text.
Is there some setting within the phone to accept text messages greater than 160 (which would be an MMS, no?) or is it the iPhone that sucks balls here and isn't breaking them apart?
I only ask because texts from Mom are greater than 160 characters...

Anytime the HTC ONE receives an SMS message that is multi part it holds the message back until it receives all parts then in case of receiving out of order it reassembles them in the correct order and gives it to you as ONE text message. This is true for SMS which goes up to 4 or 6 160 length messages before it can't do SMS and sends it as an MMS. I say 4 or 6 because I have seen phone models and carrier vary on this.

How sure are you on this? I just had a coworker send me a full text from an iPhone (when you send via iPhone it looks like one giant text > 160 characters) and I only received the first 160 characters. Couple minutes later and still no more of the text. Also, could this be dependent on your carrier?

I can't be 100% certain with regard to the carrier question. I am on Sprint
However I am relatively sure the phone is receiving the SMS not giving a notification waiting for the muti part SMS to all be delivered and then giving ONE notification for the entire thing. (Not one per part)
The reason I don't think this has anything to do with the carrier is the fact that this is the only Sprint Network phone I have ever used that did this. All others (phones same network) would deliver the SMS one part at a time a notification for each part and sometimes out of order.
I would ask you to retest and see if anything changes.
