Original Motorola Droid A855 Firmware Flash HELP - Motorola Droid and Milestone Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me out. I have an original Droid A855 and need the original firmware and some flashing instructions if possible. If the firmware is not available I would be able to borrow another A855 but would need instructions on how to get the firmware from that one and then flash it to the other. Thanks in advance for any help, this really is a terrific place to learn.

[Q] Desperate Super NOOB

Hi all!
So I am a super noob to Android, so I am unfamiliar with flashing, bootloader, rooting and so on.. But I am quite computer literate so I should understand easily with explanations
So the story:
- I have a Moto X with 139.12.35.ghost_row.AmericanMovil.en.PR bought on eBay
- I am French
- I am in Ireland with Vodafone
- I have MacOS
For now, the phone is unlocked, and everything is working great here in Ireland with my Vodafone Simcard. (not sure if that means anything to free bootloader, etc..)
But.. I would like two things:
- French language settings (mine only have the 3: English, Brasilian, Spanish)
- Kit-Kat upgrade (absolutely no news when AmericaMovil will get that)
And that's it... I don't know absolutely what to do next...
I think I need to flash to AT&T or T-MO firmware? I think that would solve everything right? I think they have both KitKat and French settings.
But is that still going to work with my Vodafone simcard here in Ireland?
I have no idea how to flash? Any simple step by step tuto? with MacOS?
Thanks a million for any answer!
TiH
PS. Hundred times sorry if this is not the good place to ask.
OK,
So I know I just need to flash the firmware. I know where to get the firmware now.
Very simple questions:
1) With a unlock Moto X does flashing to ATT firmware is breaking my unlock? Can I use only AT&T after that?
2) Is there any tool for MAC OS? Any pointers?
3) Is there any tool for Linux or Windows? Any pointers?
Thanks a lot for any answers!

Do not flash any other firmware other than your specific carrier firmware unless you unlock your boot loader. If you flash sbf firmware while having a locked boot loader you could possibly Bork your phone, there's safety's that will not normally allow you to flash incorrect firmware, that being said , I have see two situations where lines were removed from the flashing XML file which resulted in a hard bricked device
Sent on my Moto X

thank u
i did a backup but i have a Twrp recovery and i guess it s not like the original one and in case of updates i neee the stock recovery

[Q] Guide to flash stock US rom on XT1052?

Hi there,
I've been looking on XDA for a guide on how to flash stock 4.4.4 rom for Moto X XT1052. I'm also looking for the actual rom
Can anyone help me because I haven't been able to find it yet.
(
Something like this but then for the Moto X:

)
Thanks!
UPDATE 01:
Found the roms here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/info-tip-web-sites-official-leaked-roms-t2923347
But now I have a new question: can I flash the US Retail rom (this one, for example: http://motofirmware.center/files/file/1045-retail-us-444-kxa2112-l1291-2-cid9-cfc-1ffxmlzip/ ) on my XT1052 O2 (Europe)?

First off, you have an XT1052, please only flash an XT1052 rom/SBF. I've seen XT1052 users try flashing XT1053 or XT1058 roms which left there radio's non-functioning.
Also be advised that you can not downgrade GPT.BIN and Motoboot.img. If you flash an SBF meant for another model, it might have a newer GPT.BIN/Motoboot.img and that could prevent you from flashing back to your stock XT1052 rom/SBF. (I've seen this also happen with XT1052 users who tried flashing Moto SBF's meant for other model 2013 X's.)
Lastly, you link to an XT1045 which is a Moto G meant for ATT USA, and completely different than the XT1052 (which is of course a 2013 Moto X).
As for the process of flashing back to stock, please see -> [GUIDE][VIDEO] Moto X - Return to 100% stock (using RSD Lite OR manual flash)
Thanks, will have a look.

I have done this by mistake without verifying the XT type properly and now radio is not functioning. Is it possible to get radio back if I re-flash with the proper XT type? I haven't tried this yet, but downloading image from site filefactory at folder/dd05c058d3ff8dbe/ based on recommendation else where on xda. Or will this be futile attempt?

Thanks

(sorry for the delayed response, I'm on vacation and spending time with my family)
Some of the older posters couldn't get the radio working after flashing the correct one. bUT it's worth. Shot to flash with the latest 5.1 SBF for your model.
hi guys i surpass bricked but yeah one thing is important for it pc or bootloader must be unlocked so u can flash custom ROM or custom recovery.

[Q] From a Rooted Bionic to one with Lollipop

This the first time that I have attempted to root/customize a phone to this degree so explanations of what I'm doing and how to do it would be much appreciated.
As the title says I have rooted my Droid bionic and I'm wondering what steps I need to take to get it from where it is now to a lollipop device.
My understanding is that I need to unlock the boot loader then flash a lollipop ROM. Directions on how to do this or links to those directions would be very helpful. Thank you.
