Unlocked last week like everyone else using Sunshine. Flashed TWRP, made a backup etc. and all seems well.
However, something is off because when I flash RR it boots but I get everything and its mother force closing, then tried CF's ROM and a warning comes up saying "android system there's an internal problem with your device, and it may be unstable until you factory data reset"
I've tried wiping data as well as factory reset in TWRP, but no luck. I am able to restore my backup, so I'm not in a panic or anything but I can't figure out where I went wrong.
Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks
When you did a wipe in twrp did you do cache, data, system and dalvik?

I only did a factory reset with RR, but with CF's ROM I wiped everything except internal storage in advanced.
Also, is everyone getting not a directory errors in twrp?

Well I get failed to mount storage. All I do is remount it.
I would honestly wipe your whole device from twrp (including internal storage) and start fresh.

Alright, I wiped all contents of the phone and adb sideloaded CF's 1.2.3a rom. Still getting all the force closes and same warning "there's an internal problem with your device".
I also tried both using flashify and fastboot flashing TWRP, but same thing.
Anyone with any ideas? Thanks

I rooted with mofo on 4.4.4 when it first came out, but I was running CF's turbopop 1.6, which is 5.1 when I unlocked.
I did try updating the bootloader to the newest, in case that had anything to do with it, but still having errors.
Alright, so get this...
When I asked about the TWRP errors, I was getting error opening /data/data/com.google.android.gms/app_webview
So in android I created a folder called app_webview in /data/data/com.google.android.gms from root explorer, now all is well.
Thanks for your help, and hopefully if anyone else has issues this fix might work for them.

I've had the same problem as you, but my problem was inside the /data/data/com.android.chrome/cache/Cache with like 30 cache files missing. Since I was unable to recreate those files I searched for another solution. Flashing your stock rom using Fastboot fixes the problem too, but its resets all your data. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.

Step 1. Download this zip file and extract it, putting all the files in a folder.
Step 2. Download the file "One-Click Fastboot Restore.zip" and extract it, putting all the files in the same folder as the one above.
Step 3. Run the .bat file and follow the instructions.

What does this do? Restore a backup from fastboot

I'm also curious what exactly it does. At 140k it isn't replacing very much. Does it just fix files related to booting?
Didnt run it because I'm on linux and my phone is fine, but looking at the batch file, it automates flashing the stock gingerbread rom and restores PDS via fastboot.
when I run it, it gives me AdbWinApi.dll error. any suggestions?
I ran this for ****s and giggles and it returns everything back to stock AT&T 2.3 while giving you options along the way of what exactly you wanna restore to stock? webtop, system, pds, wipe data etc. works perfectly! makes life easier really! Phone booted right up after running no problems! Thanks!

It restores your phone back to stock AT&T android via fastboot automatically. It also gives you the option to *fix* your pds partition.
It's also an alternative to RSD

It restores it back to stock AT&T. I tried this on an international Atrix.
Pardon my ignorance, i'm trying to restore a bricked Atrix 4G for a friend. It gave error Failed to boot SVF 105:1:2 0x1000 after bad upgrade. Is it possible to use this as a solution? How can i find that out? and in any case, i have downloaded all files, what's the correct procedure to do this?
Thanks in advance.

Well, been trying but haven't been able to do anything with it. I mean I never used it before and seems like it needs to boot into fastboot mode which I haven't been able to do.
Is in any way possible to make the phone boot into that via usb cable with this software? I installed all requiered software including drivers but it never detected the phone in that (bricked) state, not even once. The phone turns a green light when u connect the usb without battery in, thats it.
I haven't found any solution yet, only seen ppl saying to buy a new one. Is this brick really that bad that there's absolutely no solution? And it all seems to be caused by lack of SBK as ive read on the net...
Well if there's any good news I would like to hear them

Hey guys, I'm new to the one coming from an s4, and after learning all the necessary things I flashed a 4.3 custom Rom over the stock 4.1.2 that I had. Now I've got a massive amount (19.89 gb) of storage from 'other'... I tried deleting certain files that I thought were the culprit(data/media) but after trying to with box Rom toolbox pro and root explorer I have been unsuccessful in removing the folders, they just stick there no matter what I do, even after deleting them all twice over and rebooting several times. Now I've noticed that if I move a file into the 0 folder then suddenly the pictures show up in the gallery after a reboot. However there are still files I don't need and want to get rid of. Anyone for helping?

I've already read through that one, it doesn't help as it seems I cannot delete the folders, outside of data/media/0 as these all persist after a reboot, even after deleting them. File manager says finished deleting and then I reboot, still there, still taking up 7 gb extra space.

Hate to be that guy, but back everything up (helium for apps and app data, move all media to a computer) and factory reset. It's a pain, I know, but it almost certainly will fix the problem.

I've been dancing around using the TWRP "format data" option as well, so you are advising against that huh? Why, was it a little more than just factory reset type deal? I need to find a solution to this issue and I know that resetting is the answer, just need to find the best way to go about it. Thanks for the update, and I would love to hear what exactly you went through selecting the TWRP format option!

I formatted EVERYTHING in twrp haha the only way I got my phone back was to downgrade twrp to 2.5.0.0 and use abd sideload ( sideloaded my viper rom) with the htc toolkit program on my pc. And now my "other" folder says 2 gb which I believe is correct. :good: But now I have another problem I went into recovery and installed a zip file that modified the amount of steps i had in my volume, (I have already installed it before and it worked great) now my phone is in a bootloop and Ive already tried flashing a new boot image but it doesn't work....what do i do?
UPDATE: I guess i warned against it because I thought i ruined my phone. Also, I just sideloaded viper rom again to fix my problem
Your bootloader must be unlocked to use this. If your bootloader is not already unlocked, unlocking it will wipe your data and this method is not recommended.
This is a modified factory image that will not erase your user data or custom recovery. This can be used even if you’re rooted and with modified system files, xposed framework, or custom recovery. Once installed you will lose root, just flash supersu in your custom recovery. Xposed should still be on your device so just go into the app and re-install it. For any modified system files, you will have to re-modify those.
This is intended for those on the stock rom, rooted, and with a custom recovery. It’ll work if you have a custom rom but will put the stock system on.
I am not responsible for anything you do to your device so flash at your own risk. Always backup before doing any significant changes to your device. I would recommend off your device in case something happens
.
To use, download the modified factory image here http://d-h.st/mYI Use 7-zip or winrar to extract the files.
Supersu by chainfire can be found here, CWM / TWRP / MobileODIN installable ZIP: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
Boot into the bootloader. From a cmd window opened where the flash-all file is just type flash-all. You can use shift, right click on the occam-ktu85l-Modified folder to open a command window in the correct folder. ADB/FASTBOOT must be intalled on your PC.
You can also just double click on the flash-all.bat
This is tested on a windows machine; however it should work on a Mac too, flash the flash-all.sh.
work like a charm on Mac
Man, you guys are fast! :good:

Thanks, that was one suggestion I've found. Unfortunately nothing has worked for me. It apparently is a bigger issue than I knew. There's already a ticket for it here: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=62516 Hopefully they fix it soon, because with 4.4 and 4.4.2 I got a lot of random reboots, and with 4.4.3/.4 I can't enable the wifi hotspot.

Worked flawlessly. Of course you can manually fastboot flash system, boot, and radio and not the data from the occam zip package so as not to lose your data
I downloaded 5.1 OTA today on T-Mobile. After updating, I had severe issues such as screen going black during calls, ambient display not working, google play services not working, and random reboots.
My phone was working perfect on 5.0.1 so i decided to flash 5.0.1 stock rom. I followed all the exact steps listed in the How-TO page on this website.
Nexus 6 was stuck in a boot loop. I was able to to go into recovery, and do wipe data/factory reset. Now the phone boots up, says "optimizing apps ## / ##" and then reboots again each time.
If I try to go into recovery mode holding power and volume up buttons, nothing happens.
Please Help me. I am new to all this. Is there any way to fix this?
Ok, I just got into recovery mode. I wiped the cache and also wiped data/factory reset. I then clicked reboot system now.
However, the same thing comes up as before (boot loop, android is optimizing apps)
I tried using Nexus Root Toolkit as well, but didn't help. Any suggestions?

My question is, since bootloader can't be downgraded and I am back on stock 5.0.1, will I be able to receive OTA updates or am I going to have to manually update my phone from now on?
Also, my kernel version changed. Before it was January 28 2015 and now its October 24 2014. does this mean anything
Also my total space under storage changed. Before it was like 25gb and now it says 23gb

These are stock .img files that we pulled once TWRP got booted. If you break something (like flashing TWRP incorrectly), you can use these to restore it.
boot.img - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5fMrmukgO0NcVdKYzczRFBBSlk/view?usp=sharing
recovery.img - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5fMrmukgO0NUTUtdXdVZTM5MGs/view?usp=sharing
system.img - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5fMrmukgO0NcTYxVHhkSkxfelk/view?usp=sharing
For a flashable zip of the img's: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/development/lg-h901-stock-images-device-restore-t3241170
If you're having trouble flashing system.img because of file size (you will). Move it to the /sdcard folder on your phone however you want (simply drag it over to storage), then in adb shell, "dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system" or simply use TWRP.
Flashing these would be the same as you would on the nexus right? I.e fastboot flash system system.img

Mine wouldn't flash it. So I was told to put the system.img in /sdcard, then adb shell (I did it while in TWRP), then "dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system" let it run. Reboot.

As you were resetting up the phone, lg should have showed you the list of uninstalled LG apps...it ALWAYS does, but I know it is easy to skip over them as well when setting the phone. There should be another way even after, will edit this post once I set up my phone again.
But to answer your main post, flashing the system.img wont bring it back because the phone will still see them as uninstalled. You just have to reinstall them from the lg app list

I froze a few apps then when i noticed it i unfroze them and still nothing. After a factory reset it was back to normal so not sure if that had something to do with it.

Cool sounds like you got it back up and running. I straight up deleted the bloats. My motto is, if it doesn't have an icon (i use rom toolbox pro) leave it alone. Lol.
