Hello to everyone,
my name is Georgi and I am part of the AppHunt team.
I did an introduction post here about the AppHunt Android app and what functionalities and social impact it has. The post can be found HERE.
So I want to share you the opportunity to share your app on AppHunt and gain more traction. I will just share here the first 3 reasons from 8 available in our blog post, you can check the others by viewing our blog at: http://blog.theapphunt.com
1. It is FREE. Literally. Everything is free. We don’t tax neither developers, nor users.
2. We have a great community. It is building really fast and most of our users are committed app hunters. You can get really useful advice about your app functionalities.
3. Submission takes 2 taps. It is EASY. Click the pink plus button, select your app, write a short description and press Save.
...
Here is a link to our blog post: http://bnc.lt/apphunt-4-devs
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or problems submitting your app!
We are all about developers and we are ones! So we know how hard it is to gain initial traction!
Leave the hard work to us, you can just sit and enjoy your app's attention!
Cool, going to submit an app. Apparently my account needs to be five days old to do that, so I will have to wait till then.

Hi VilleI,
I am not sure if you are using the right app. Here is a link for it play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apphunt.app to it. We don't require our users to have accounts for 5 days to do things. You should be able to comment and vote apps anonymously. If you want to submit an app the only requirement is to login
Ah I was using the wrong app app submitted now

I just came across this wonderful app that provides a native facebook client for android.
Tha app has been out for just 2 days and already is receiving great support from its developer with constant updates as new features are implemented and bugs are ironed out.
Although its a paid app the developer has been kind enough to provide an alternative method of purchasing the app to those that don't have access to google's paid market through slideme.org.
The app costs $1.49 and I can say its well worth every penny. I have been using it since morning with no problems what so ever.
The developer its quite active and promises new features with future releases. For more details refer to his blog: http://fbandroid.wordpress.com/
I believe we should support such developers that put a lot of effort in providing android with such great apps.
Can't make comments in Chinese It sends them in garbage code. Refunded.
EDIT: It reads them fine, just can't REPLY.
i cant see it in the market yet.....can anyone provide a down load link for bloo?
I love how the OP wrote as if he wasn't the author of the app... which he is. At least be honest and say you're plugging your own app!
It looks good, and I'm definitely going to pick it up soon, so there's no need to be sneaky.
I purchased it yesterday, and I think its great. But is it only me, or does it load The Feed slow, even on wireless?
can someone pls give me a link from when i can get this bloo?
its not there in the market,im in india...

their is a lite version , which states to be exactly the same as the paid , for now at least
Objective:
To be able to create a ROM on your phone from your favorite chef. Also you will be able to combine differnt packages from different chefs. So you like Chef A ROM but you like Chef B graphics you can combine the two as long as the Chefs break up their packages according to specs of app.
Also you will be able to browse, download and install apps from developers here at XDA, HTCPedia or any other website if they wish to place their Apps here.
Chefs, developers, and any modder can put up their own work on server and will be responsible for maintaining their work on App Store server. It is up to each modder to set price if any. PayPal system will be part of app.
Project Lead Time
V1 beta will be available after all bugs have been found and squashed.
How it will work:
User can create ROM and flash from phone. User can also browse App Store and select what programs, tweaks and themes to include in ROM or add to current ROM installed on phone.
Theoretical scenario
User wants to install new ROM on phone and does not like any of the custom stuff chefs put into ROM. What is user to do?
User downloads and installs Fusion Visual UC on either Windows Mobile Device.
User then runs Fusion Visual UC and selects all settings user prefers and applications. Through activesync Fusion Visual UC will install custom package on SD card of device and install latest Fusion Power ROM.
New ROM will be loaded on phone. At end of Windows Customization, Fusion Visual UC will take over, issue some prompts and then proceed to install all customized user settings.
At end of customization user's device will reboot and user will have totally customized Windows Mobile build as if user cooked the ROM themselves.
All flavors of Manila will be included to allow user to select what version they like to use.
More to come soon!
Funding
This project requires some funding which I can not do on my own, if I could I would so I am hoping to get some help from the community since it will be for everyone to use as end user or developer.
Costs will be:
Friend who is helping me with code. I already gave him my new TP2 as partial payment and would like to give him some payment as we get further a long. Anything is good...
Server equipment - Would like to keep server in house for the launch of App and for a few months after that. So I will need to purchase equipment for server.
Additional Phones - Would be nice to get a phone for myself for testing reasons and one for graphic designer. No big deal, can make do without but would make everything easier.
I am a student and do freelance IT work on the side. I filled up my schedule as much as I can for this week and next to earn some extra cash to carry the burden of cost. Only downside is it takes time away from App.
Thank you in advance if you contribute to this application.
Everyone who contributes will be set up with free exchange account. Also if developers want to charge for their apps I will try to cut a deal with them to allow donators to access their apps for free.
Developers have no charge to use this app nor are they required to share in their profits.
Developer Info
I will soon post instructions how to setup your packages to be recognized on server for App Store.
Things you can create:
ROMs - fully loaded or base ROM
Packages - All sorts of add-ons for your ROMs
Tweaks - any tweaks, can be CAB, Reg or XML file
Themes - create themes and share them on the App Store
Image Files
Images will be placed up here shortly.
Progress
15-09-09 01:19 AM
Cob webs have been cleared.
Flowchart and App design layout all complete.
First line of code is about to be laid out...
21-09-09 18:13
Busy weekend coding away. The base of the ROM creation tool and app store have been laid. Format for developers to place their stuff on server has been finalized. Will not take much work from developer to place their work on server and in App Store.
If any developer (Chef, app developer or modder) would like to get a head start on getting their packages ready feel free to PM me. Once I am 100% sure that the current format for developers is the one we are going with then I will publish instructions.
This will work on any WinMo device but the first device to be fully supported will be the HTC Touch Pro2.
Place Holder 4
And another
Place Holder 5
Yet another
Place Holder 6
This should be enough
Leave input
If I did not mention a feature that you think would work well with new App I am working on please leave input and I will look into it.

So.. is this going to be an application that installs app cabs over a base ROM... or a kitchen type setup that recooks a base ROM with the user's preferences ?
Welcome back
Glad to see you back here not because of your fusion or future room but as a friend. we may not know each other but i think, you are still among the elite people that devoted your own time for all the xda community.

Hello,
My name is Isaac and I am here to find out what developers and publishers find useful as far as reviews of their mobile applications. I have just finished developing a website that totally caters smartphone applications. It is non-platform specific so if you develop for Iphone, Droid, blackberry, etc.. then your apps could be listed at the site.
What I am looking to get out of this is to find out what information developers want to get from end users the most. This way I can configure the review site so it can get the most useful information to developers. Thus giving developers the info they need to concentrate on what is more important to their target audience.
So I hope some of this interest and lets get talking, what are important questions you like to see answered in reviews
come on guys, help me out, what are things that you found most important when getting reviews of your applications?
If someone reviewed my mobile app, I'd like to know about a couple of things like:
Ease of use,
Functionality,
If usage of app can provide a longterm solution,
and/or if the user was satisfied with the app all around.

Hi,
First of all before developing any application, I check the user requirement. As you know people want different type of applications. So I collect the user opinion from different places. Then I develop an application according to user requirement. After completing the application, I post my application reviews on different mobile based forums and get some feedback.

Thanks, all good things to have rated to know how well your app is perceived by end users.

So basically if you have an idea for an app you then question potential users for what they would like to see and then build something from that?
Any particular questions you post on the forums that you feel gives you best info?
I always look for a decent star rating from those before me and also read through the developer description. If it seems useful I get it and worse case you just end up deleting it later. The main thing that makes an app flourish in the market is it's star rating and number of downloads.
But honestly, there are already several similar sites. I guess it will be really hard for you to build a big user base for your website. Other players are already in the market for a few years. And they are all free...
Maybe it is a better approach that the devs do not have to upload the app to you page but that you just allow the users to "request features" and you can allow them to vote for features. This could provide a feedback to the developer of the most important missing/demanded features. Maybe there is a chance to contact the developers via one of the google apis for marketplace once you have significant feedback from your users for a specific application...

Yes there are many similar sites, mostly concentrating on a particular platform though. Which to me makes no sense since a lot of developers want to make apps for different platforms . But you make a good point allow users to vote on proposed features that the developer is thinking of working on so they know what users really want and would likely buy for.

Hello all,
A long time ago if you recall I gave away G+ invites. Some people didn't get it, and I really didn't want to type those emails again. I snooped around the "Notifications" area of G+, and I found a loophole to get in. I tested this on a different account, so I know it works. For me at least.
Simply navigate to this link:
https://plus.google.com/_/notificat...q6PPBddlXk0yrYVa8Jg-N23Yx0ukukHw6tO0qIbNM5qus
And you will see one of the following pages:
1. Sign in with your Google account - do just that.
2. Big G+ page with a Sign in button - click that
3. Something totally different - post here and say it didn't work, I''l find a new link.
Again, I tested it so it should work. If not, like #3 says, post here with a screenshot of the page you get. No flaming, please.
Thanks!
"Google+ is in limited Field Trial
Right now, we're testing with a small number of people, but it won't be long before the Google+ project is ready for everyone. Leave us your email address and we'll make sure you're the first to know when we're ready to invite more people."
Yesterday I saw "You have 150 invites!" in Google Plus, and when you signed into Google it invited you right in. shrug
Weird, I was never invited, but I'm using G+...weird I iizzzz confuzled...

Remarkable. Worked for me just now, despite checking mere minutes before to find out the registration was closed, even to those with an invite.
thanks!
Worked Great Thanks
Before a forum mod even thinks of taking this down- I've been in contract with Svetius and this may go live across XDA.
I would like to beta test here- and give developers and others a good example of what we can accomplish- as a collective.
I'll simplify for anyone who wants to jump in- click one of the following links, and if you don't get it, read on:
This is a link to the view only version, with ability to comment..
https://docs.google.com/document/d/...MZAPx-mLF8tnXPmBV2V7fRo/edit?usp=docslist_api
Here is the developers/contributor linkhttps://docs.google.com/document/d/...MZAPx-mLF8tnXPmBV2V7fRo/edit?usp=docslist_api DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK IF YOUR NOT ACTIVELY DEVELOPING OR CONTRIBUTING- I DO HAVE WAYS TO REMOVE PEOPLE IF THEY TAKE AWAY FROM PROJECT!
If someone else wants to create a new document, please include a link to this instruction document I've already created.
If no one else jumps on creating a development document for unified s5, I will create and post the edit and view/comment links in second post, or add your document if you choose too
I will update and add to this post this morning- please allow me to get second post
As of this moment, developers, recognized contributors, or users are disconnected- and you may not have the time to go hunting each other down, or answer 500 PMS.
This is my effort to connect developers- it is a LIVE document, and it uses your Google account to grant the level of access you need. Because it is a live document, you will see AS other people type. I can give non-devs the ability to view and comment only- but in that way, even they may be able to contribute.
There's a built in chat box.
It automatically tracks who makes changes so no credit has to be given for your work, or you can create a document you own and paste the link in my document. This is how we create a "tree" of organized data..
Links do NOT BREAK.. So even of you move the document in your personal folders, any link you put into my or any other document will work. Period. I've tested this over 4-5 years, and I'm sure of this.
The same way it tracks changes, you can revert to old versions.. So if someone accidentally selected all and hit backspace, by accident or as a jerk, in a few clicks I can put it all back.
I've been taking to mods and development teams here at XDA, and we are going to be doing this XDA wide, or at least that's how it is looking - this reduces devs duplicating work, because it is Google document, it requires no sign up, it's probably on all your devices or easy to download..
Of we start sharing and get or section done, it will give a good example at how all other subgroups can do there's.
The link in my signature(amaze Bible) shows how robust these Google docs can get. Here is a link if you can't see it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679486

This third post will contain a table of contents once documents start taking shape.
Please help this project, as connecting developers, contributors, and users will help us all!
But I've been asked to make sure this doesn't REPLACE XDA.. So if you have any posts that may be helpful already on XDA - LINK BACK TO IT.
If this goes XDA wide, they may be able to integrate this into XDA with backbend tools.. This could get really cool really fast. Pm or post you're questions or comments- but follow the development section rules!

Follow yes, even help if possible
Click the edit link and go to the bottom where I put examples where I see this going.. You can comment (it explains how in the Google doc) if you don't want to change the doc itself.. So make suggestions, or even help me message a link to this thread to developers.. Because as I said, I've already been getting a pretty positive response from the top mod and his development team..
If we can show them this works and well, it will only help them see maybe this can be a priority.
I'm going to connect them with some backbend tools Google put out to integrate this into the site- so I need our XDA community collective to do/offer whatever they can to get or beta test product into something useful.
As a bonus, as easy as it is to link to docs, and link back to XDA.. We can reduce the number of duplicate questions, need for q&a threads, and the number of messages that developers get!
Even me, a recognized contributor- the more active I am, the more PMs I get..
So come on XDA collective- help me make this work!
It is now robust on a computer, but you can do 90% of this on any Google device you can install apps on

BUMP.
I edited original post- if you're a Dev click the second link, if you want to contribute in some way, click the appropriate link.
You literally click the link, on just about any device, especially anything android or a computer- and you're in, and able to contribute. No sign up. No wasted time.
This is EASY as it gets, but I can't make anyone do this.. This is about us collaborating and helping each other, unifying developers in one place - and REDUCING WORK.. Because I'm seeing a lot of developers doing the same thing, and it is called work duplication.. And time that need not be wasted if you all work together.
On top of that, if I and other contributors, official or not, can be part of the process.. Well, think of it as processing power.
Please give it a try, and let's build a team.
for developers and contributors in the unified s5 forum - please check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2997834
I'm trying to increase our collaboration, reduce duplication of work- and maybe even help out a few devs that just don't know your secret Fix's
