Actually according to the original article it says that the Note 4 did get the new touchwiz and even the air command of the note 5, all except the notifications menu, seems awsome

It's fake

I guess, this news is absolutely fake.

I'm going to lean towards this being a fake, Samsung doesn't like to update the icons for apps for older phones. From what I have experienced in Samsung Galaxy S4/S5 and Note4 updates.
Though I might be wrong.

1000% fake
the android security patch date should be d/m/y format
look at the format in the screenshot

Can we at least have the double tap to launch camera feature?? Damn it Samsung! I hope that isn't the final version yet.

Saifullah ofcourse wat????they would be crazy if the new touchwiz and new camera UI wasnt included in the new touch wiz so plz stop making stupid replays
---------- Post added at 02:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:43 AM ----------
There is no doubt its fake no new touchwiz only some picked features of it????? Impossible samsung is not this level of stupidness to do that and if they did i think they should start fucusing on dishwashers industry cuz idont believe that any note 4 owner including me ofcourse would pay money for there craps again so yes they will port the hole new touch wiz not just a stupid usless features of it this is wat they did in note 3 and this is wat's gonna happen in note 4.

Fake

It depends on the situation as i will wait for a leaked version of this firmware to be uploaded

Did the Note get the TW of the Note 2, Note 2 of the Note 3, Note 3 of the Note 4?
NO!
And: the Note 5 is 64 bit, the Note 4 isn't!

In fact N910C is 64bit

[REQUEST] Multiwondows & RippleLockScreenEfect for Galaxy 10'1

Someone could create support for these two options in the Galaxy Tab P5110
Enviado desde mi GT-I9100 usando Tapatalk 2
It will be great to see Multi-windows option on our Galaxy Tab 2.
Maybe Samsung will make it for us. Unfortunately, I think, Samsung can't do this, because Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is no longer top model of Galaxy Tabs. Now Samsung Galaxy Note II is newsest, and it is Samsung's eye in head
Waiting for modders, who's can make it for us ...
Samsung is a shame that as soon leave this tab, but I guess if you can create multi-window support. In the S2 have introduced multi-window support, ripple effect and ink. What is required is that some developer support us will try to get help to bring these improvements to our tablet
Enviado desde mi GT-I9100 usando Tapatalk 2
It will not to be easy.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is commercial tablet. There's no much difference between Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 ...
One thing making Samsung politics is buissnes. That's all. Samsung want a lot of money and they are not interesting in older devices which makes less of money now. Sad but true.
I thinks it is possible because note 1 n7000 don't have multi windows et ripple effect et alliance team make this
I am small dev I make rom for note 1 and note 2 but not release in xda for my reason...
If you want we work in integrated this goodies?
Because section tab 2 is dead pffff
Pm me if you want and sorry for my English very bad looool
Yes it could be done, if someone will port the mods from the threads below to work with some of our ROMs once we get JB 4.1.2 from Samsung.

What a ridiculous comment. Samsung does a good job of software updates for older devices. Better than most. Remember they make no money from updating your old device and the reason to be in business is to make a profit, not to cater to every whim of power users. Most people that own these tablets wouldn't even know what a software update is and could care less. They just want it to work and be reliable. So think the fact that Samsung churns out dozens of updated for a multitude of devices in variety of languages is pretty cool.
I once purchased a HTC Flyer, cool device , great hardware, pretty damn expensive. It never received one single software update and HTC dropped support for it after 4 months.
Samsung just put out a JB 4.1.1 update for your tablet this month. You expectations are unrealistic. Do you expect Samsung to assign a personal developer to you to support your every whine on a daily basis?
Want This sooo bad

It would be great to have it, but as I can see there is not one single custom ROM based on stock JB for the P5110

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
of course it is possible on the part of devs, to a certain extent.
you need special kernels besides hardware support. Note 1 got a few leaks from samsung and got many other features of Note 2 going like airview, multi-windows, ink effect
xperiacle and nanomet have ported features from the tab to make certain features to work on Note 1 like floating multiwindows that can be minimised, multitasking
my knowledge is surface knowledge. without sammy support in the form of leaks it wouldnt have been possible for Note. otherwise Cyanogen would also give these features even though they are releasing 421 now.

Why have you created a double post buddy? I told you that Note 1 is android 4.1.2 while the Note 3 is 4.3 porting apps or developing them from the ground up is hurd enough, but it's almost imposible to port features hat depend on the sensors that the Note 3 has, wait for the last official update from Samsung and we will have a simmilar slimmed down feature set. And pleace don't start more threads for the same question

cant u custom the note 3 rom for note1 (n7000)
app on the diff version rom may make problem but custom the entire rom of note3(n9000):good:
Some apps are android version independent so it shouldn't matter. Plus the only extra sensor Note III has is the when you take out the S-pen. What other extra sensors are there in Note III?
There's mid range phones nowadays that have specs higher than our note. No of custom rom developers is shrinking day after day. We have to admit that our note is dying.

well i saw the video and if this is really the mashmallow update for galaxy s5 it will be very disappointed, because the only new thing i see is the icons and the rest are still the exact as lollipop , and this sucks

I think is from Algeria or Morocco or Tunisia French language
BUILD G900FXXUCOL4 or COK4
I really hope this is a very early version, because the leaked firmware is basically Lollipop S5 with new icons...
Hopefully the guy who received it cooperates in providing a ROM dump instead of trying to sell his phone.
it will be the same as lollipop with the diffrence of icons usual samsung bullsh-t good news is once we get it we can port s6 and s6 edge roms hopefully
I hope New Camera API is implement. so we can play with manual Camera.

I would say that as long as we get 6.0.1 is a good thing. I mean is not like we're not going to run some custom ROM anyway. If it is on the latest android version we will probably be able to get some of if on all of the new features that marshmallow offers via mods.
Some tests on Galaxy 6 edge proved that Android 6 was much more multi threads processing better than Android 5 Lollipop. Hope the same things would come to our G900F

Can hardly wait for a note 7 hybrid feature ROM for our note 4!

I decided to wait (pass) on upgrading my note 4. The note 7 looked awesome, but I'm honestly looking forward to a lower bill since my phone will be paid for.
I'm hoping our resident rom chefs will get a note 7 rom and add some of the new features for the note 4, like the GIF maker from video.
How about you guys.
I would definitely like the new air command features added to my note 4.

Oreo came out to the public in August of 2017 we just got it that's almost a damn year after it came out. So Samsung is almost a year behind which is ridiculous. This is why I loved my Nexus phones but Google decided to go with the stupid Pixel brand of ugly phones.

Can you please explain to me what a port on SX or Note 9 means? I thought Google provided free Android through the AOSP. Why can't a developer develop a Note 8 from the raw AOSP code? Is it a too much work? If a port is code from SX or Note 9, does Samsung provide the source code, or does it have to be de-compiled from machine code?
I'm a newbie, and I'm just trying to understand where all this code comes from. I love custom ROMs and know how to install them, but I'm just trying to understand the infrastructure and where all this code comes from other than AOSP.

Sharing you a link where you can understand about the custom rom and building process. Any one can build a rom but he/she have basic knowledge about. Snapdragon chipset are very easy to crack but exynos is hardwork that why we dont much development here plus feature may get reduce in note 8 as custom rom while dilute note 8 features.
Pls read
https://www.androidauthority.com/build-custom-android-rom-720453/
Ripper, you forgot to mention to Huele Fello that AOSP also wouldn't have Samsung's Touchwiz to make the almighty S-Pen work. The Bixby button on the side would also be dead, as well as the Iris scanner,

And what is Treble going to help you in receiving the Pie update for the Note 8? Samsung doesn't officially support it on the Note 8, thus it's pointless. It might only help with custom ROMS with updates a little bit.

Oreo was released to the Note 8 in March of 2018. Not sure why Jason504 thinks we just got it in August??
It would also stand to reason that Android Pie will be released in a similar time table as Oreo. Possibly sooner since Samsung is planning the rollout in January 2019.
I don't know exactly when I got Oreo but it definitely wasn't in March. It was way after that it was May or June when I got the update for my phone. One of the last companies to push the update. Samsung sells more phones than any company and are almost dead last at pushing out updates?
