Has anyone successfully drilled a hole in any flip cover so they can see the notification LED light on their Note 5? I know this trick worked with prior Note models, but I seem to recall reading somewhere the LED is disabled when the Samsung flip cover is closed.
Can anyone confirm the viability of, or otherwise shed light upon, this mod for the Note 5 specifically? Thanks.
NM: Someone on reddit just confirmed the LED notification light is disabled when their Samsung cover is closed.

I bought a new Note 3 - like case for my Note 2 from aliexpress.com. It looks great and works well. Although, theres an issue with it (or the phone's sensor). The proximity sensor doesn't detect the closed cover when it touches the sensor (or when it's very close to it). This is explained in the YouTube video below. Please check and post your responses. Also, try the apk given in the link description there, and post your valuable feedback.. Thank You!:good:

The problem originates from the dark color of the case. In order to solve the problem, just cut out a small strip of a light colored (white or light yellow) sticky paper, and stick it to the internal side of the case in such a way that it comes exactly on the proximity sensor when the case is closed. You will see that it is working.
EDIT: The apk is also problematic. I checked it with my cover (I have the same cover, but its internal color is white). It closes the screen perfectly but when I open it, it turns the screen on then immediately off. I have to close and open it to turn the screen on. What I suggest is you use "Style View Cover" apk from googleplay. I am using it without any problem.

It works! Tnx for the tip. So, the color caused it... Can you send me a link from where you bought your case?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Can u let me know from where u have buy this product. Im also interested to buy it for my Note 2 and Galaxy Grade1
Please let me know.
I've got the S7 edge and I bought a led view cover. There are a few choices of caller animations/pictures.
But then the Note 7 came out and so the LED cover for it. I saw a test video about it and there is more settings option (what I think a lot of user missed before): you can create a caller picture.
What's more: not just a caller picture, but you got a surface with the dots and you can light them up and after you can use it for any application as an indicator.
So I'm asking wether someone noticed it too because that's a really great feature and because the phone's LED blinker is fully covered we are really need this feature and I think it's just a question of software.
So I have been using the genuine Samsung clear view case for some time now and have never had an issue with it until now.
All of a sudden the phone does not react when the flip case is opened or closed, before it would change/hide the screen to reveal a clock + notifications whenever it was closed. Now the display seems to be always on an unaffected by the flip case being closed.
I assume this will also have an affect on being able to accept/reject calls with the case closed etc.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue and/or tell me what is causing it?
Thanks in advance!
Has anyone got a flip cover for this phone that turns the screen off when you close it? Various reviews mention this phone has a hall sensor (Eg. nokiamob.net review). I installed a multi-sensor test app and can see a magnetic sensor there that shows changing readings when I waive a magnet over it, but opening or closing the case does not affect the screen. This work for anyone ?

I've been looking into the cases of this phone since i got it on the first day of launch. Sadly to date there is none. Maybe Nokia will release a case that does so and enable thay feature in a future update.
My Samsung led flip case works but the enclosed instructions say there are extra setting under settings.. Advanced features... Accessories...
I don't have accessories under advanced settings!
Found it. Search led in settings and it pops up in the list.
Hey there! Do your LED view cover's LEDs adjust brightness according to ambient light?
Bought a LED view cover and mine don't. Want to know whether my case is defective. Thanks!
What exactly do you mean by 'ambient light'?
Did you expect the LED-cover to adjust to your phone's brightness settings? Mine doesn't either, so I don't think that's a feature.

Damn, that's sad. The LED view cover I had for my Note 4 used to increase/decrease brightness depending upon indoor/outdoor lighting conditions.
Returned Note 9's LED view cover as the LEDs were very dim outdoors, and totally invisible in sunlight.
You should look into the Clearview case then, it may be different with that one?
