I realised the GPS location doesn't work since I installed CM12.1. I deleted everything to make sure it was nothing I installed or modified afterwards. I tried RR from scratch too, and the problem persists.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
EDIT: It works on ComputerFreek ROM, as it worked on stock 5.1.
I too saw this issue over the weekend. For me it wasn't that it wouldn't work, but wouldn't update as I drove. If I exited navigation and reentered it would find my updated location and stay there. I am on RR and love it else wise.

That is what I saw when using Maps. But after checking with other apps (GPS Test, GPS Status) I realised it was not getting GPS position, so I infered the location shown when launching Maps was from Wifi and Radio signals and that's why navigation wouldn't work.

Yeah computerfreek is stock based so that makes sense.
I'm having no luck as well. Since it found my location the first day I assumed it was working but I now realize it is not gathering GPS data.

Seems that going back to stock and then getting agps lock, power down then restore ROM GPS then works.
Thanks to baybutcher.
just freeze motgeofences apk with titanium backup and then install TopNTP from the play store, apply the derek gordon file and reboot
Did, and didn't work. This was an issue on the RAZR m as well. Plauged some and not others. Was also solved the same way.
Has this issue been resolved. I am having the same issue. I have tried the fastboot erase modemst1 and modemst2 method which failed due to incorrect partion name as well as the freese geofencesvc and install topntp method, which has failed to yield proper GPS only wifi.

You can fix it by getting a solid GPS lock on stock-based ROM and then you can flash the ROM. You should get a lock after.

FWIW I had similar issues, tried everything except flashing a stock ROM. I read that some users are experiencing the same problem and that it was fixed in 6.0.1. I was able to get my GPS working with flashing an updated ROM.
Here is the ROM I flashed that is confirmed working in TWRP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/development/rom-t3341788 (build 2016-04-07)
I also flashed this baseband / radio package in TWRP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/development/droid-turbo-xt1254-bootloader-radio-t3259327 (version SU4TL-44)
I don't know if flashing the baseband / radio package was absolutely necessary, but it didn't break anything on my and was able to successfully retrieve GPS data use the GPS Status app in the play store.
Hope this helps. :good:
Have you tried installing Motorola Modality and Motorola Sensor Services? The ROM that I use enables download of Motorola apps and these two contain drivers necessary for things like the gyroscope to work at all and the GPS may be included in that.
Made twrp backup, Flashed stock rom, acquired GPS lock, restored twrp backup. And it appears all is working! Thank you!

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for this issue on a stock, locked, non-rooted turbo?
I did a full wipe but still have the same issue and am just trying to avoid another wipe and checking after reinstalling each app. It finds my location but doesn't update when using gps thru Google maps.
Reinstalling apps is one thing, but having to reinstall and then drive around after each one is more of a pain.

Hi everyone.
So, this is my problem:
http://images.orkut.com/orkut/photo...9E7ePr_8Am1T1UHiPgwGpeh7tb_Dn59t24Hsb_ZWU.jpg
My wi-fi is turning on by itself after i manually turn it off. And even when i set plane mode the wi-fi is still on. At first i thought it was impossible and i was dreaming but no. This is really annoying me, my battery won't last a day with my wifi always on.
If anyone could possibly help me with this problem i would really aprecciate it! =(
Oh and i already tried wiping all user data and tried flashing other roms as well. I tried shadowmod and cyanogen too. currently i'm using the froyomod 2.7. All have the same problem. I really don't know what to do.

Do you have any 3rd party power saving apps installed? For example, I have an app called "Network Switcher" installed, that given certain conditions, it turns on or off 3g and wifi. I have it set to turn 3g and wifi off between 11:15pm and 7:15am if the screen is off. (this helps save a ton of battery while I'm sleeping)
Your screenshot doesn't look like a clean stock ROM, so even if you did wipe data, it looks like you installed some stuff. Did you do a complete wipe back to stock, and it's still doing this?
No, i don't use any apps to save battery or manage my networks. And yes, everytime i install or upgrade to a new rom i wipe all data. I haven't tried using the 2.2 stock rom to see if i'd have the problem there too. I'm currently using froyomod, i have always used modified roms and i'd never had this sort of problem before.

So when did it start happening? Did you notice it after you installed something? Or after you flashed your current ROM? Did you have anything installed before that may have been saved to your SD card using apps2sd, and it somehow got "lost", but the setting remained?
If I were you, I would flash the stock 2.2.1 SBF (get it here: http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone221), and reflash the latest FroyoMOD on top of that. First back up all your app data using TB though, and restore afterwards. That may be your only hope.
I noticed it after i installed Froyomod 2.7, but i don't think it was the rom since nobody else complained about a problem like that. And i haven't installed any different apps than the ones i've always used.
Thank you for the advice! I'll try to flash the SBF file right now, and i will also erase my SD Card, just in case.
I'll let you know after it's done. Thanks again!!
Unfortunately i did everything as i was told and nothing worked, the problem won't go away. Guess i'll have to use the 2.1 stock rom. It's better than having my wi-fi always on. But thanks for the help!! =)

They did not have any solutions that worked for them either though. Sorry.
Yes, a few people had this problem as well, but nobody said if they got to fix it or if it stopped.
The most annoying thing: I went back to 2.1 stock rom because i thought it would stop, when i installed it was ok but after a few hours that i'm using the rom the problem started again.
This really sucks. I will never buy any motorola products no more.
Anyway, thanks for your help. It's really good to have helpful people on this forum.
Turning the airplane mode on will not disable your wifi... only the radio(antena).
The question is: does your radio works normally?

Hi, I think the problem is coming from the ROM.
First you should wipe cach/data. I mean factory reset, then download a newly fresh Open Recoveries, and do the flash ROM again and place it into SD card (remember to delete the old one: Nandroid and Open recoveries folders and update.zip file). THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT.
Here is the link of CM7 ROm but very light. it si good for MS than ever:

Below is the google apps package:

I use it and it works well.

He says if yes try to uninstall it ( which means uninstall a wifi tether app if you installed one) and reflash the rom. That would be um just reflashing the rom. To see if that fixes it.
If you say no to his did you install a wifi tether app then don't bother with his suggestion. That is what he is saying.

Albundy2010 is right, I think what chris said is already step by step. "uninstalling app" and reflashing the rom.. there's nothing more to it. You are flashing nightly roms, therefore you SHOULD know how to flash a new build *I really hope so!*

I have install the wifi tether app. then turn on WIFI, it like done continue scan points of wifi and my phone hang.
next uninstall wifi tether app, reflash the ROM. and now! Not better...
Use a root file explorer and check your available memory under \system. If your memory is too low when flashing a new ROM, bits and bobs associated with the kernel are not flashed resulting in wifi failing to initialize.
This happened to me before (had only 40KB) so I moved a couple of apps from \system to \data reflashed and problem solved.
With the size of the ROMs continuing to grow, this will be a problem with the limited storage on our N1's.
Why are you guys even installating a wifi tether app in anyways? The nexus one supports wifi tethering stock. I have not ran a stock rom in a while. Am I missing something here?

Most of the time it is caused by having the 2.1 BPSW (baseband processor software) instead of the 2.2
I recommend flashing these two files (bpsw and devtree) just to be sure.
Good luck.

I think you have installed CM 9.1 in your Milestone!
Can you please give me a feedback about the performance and usage of milestone on CM 9.1!

It works great. I'm not saying it is as speedy as on a newer phone, but most of the time its okay. If it slows down, I just restart the phone and the problem is solved.
I recommend you to try it out for yourself. I also recommend to change the stock launcher.

Hi. Just noticed that nightly builds for i605 (Galaxy Note 2 on Verizon) were available. Downloaded and installed them using both TWRP 2.6.3.1 and CWM 6.0.4.3. In both cases, the rom installed okay, but I didn't have voice or data. This happened with both the nightly from 12/19/13 and the nightly from 12/17/13. I did a clean install (factory reset, wipe system, wipe data) before flashing the omni nightly. Anyone else experiencing this?

I too experienced the same thing. Hoping it gets worked out soon.
Try installing SELinuxModeChanger from the play store and set it to Permissive. Thats what I had to do to get data back after the 12/20 OTA on my Galaxy Note 2. Tried both TWRP and CWM before that.
Thanks for the suggestion. Just installed the 12/19 nightly via twrp 2.6.3.1. First thing after it booted was to download SELinuxModeChange app and set to permissive. Then rebooted but still no voice or data.

hmmm... maybe try PhilzTouch CWM, it's a non-standard CWM. IF you do you can flash the nighties from the OpenDelta folder, system update will drop you into recovery and it'll error the update but you can install manually.
I'm also interested in a fix for this..I played around with the rom for a few hours on wifi before realizing that there was no cell connection.
I have philz installed, so maybe I will take a look through its settings and also try the app suggested. Is it possible that maybe its an APN issue?
EDIT:
..I did find that the zips to add multiwindow support do work on the nightly though!
I just tried again... Seems that it is not recognizing the Sim is installed, and also shows no baseband. I'm on the latest, MJ9. IIRC

I've successfully rooted my phone, and have signed on with T-Mobile. However, while calling and SMS works fine, MMS and data don't work at all! I've googled around and the consensus seems to be that the Verizon software is the issue.
So, I've downloaded CloudyStock, but am totally ignorant as to how I should proceed. I've looked through the forums over there, but can't find a step by step. Could anyone help me out? I've downloaded FreeGee and QuickBoot if that helps.

Yes, look for the thread containing the AutoRec app recovery installation. It will put twrp 2.7.0.0 on. DO NOT UP-GRADE recovery until 2.7.1.1 is out. Twrp 2.7.1.0 has some really nasty bugs. Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496 the easiest way without a computer.

Flashing a ROM is easy via recovery. I personally flash any new ROM with an otg usb drive. Once recovery is installed, hit install button then directory/path/to/your/ROM.zip then swipe to flash. Its actually easy, and assuming all your software is correct, should boot right in.

No way is it bricked. For that, you would need cloudys support/thread. I've seen a thread pertaining to that but can't recall the specifics. Your not a bother, but I typically try to stay away from ROMs that have multiple issues mainly because my time is limited for trouble shooting. I found xdabbebs modified stock ROM ideal for a daily driver with Dori's kernel and g2 tweaks the most stable and dependable. I have yet to try cloudys mainly because of the issues of other users. I think your main issue here is having Verizon software on a T-mobel network. Your will probably have to flash t-mob KDZ files in order to correct your problems. I would think a mobile carrier would do this for you when you signed on idk. in the cloudystock OP post, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50630975 his link to basebands your are going from a vs980 to a d802 yes? I know this is asking a lot, but if anyone is interested/feels like donating their time, I'd be extremely happy to host a Skype call to figure it out: Skype name is grandpa_faust
I think reading between 2 different forums is getting me messed up. What I had heard was that CloudyStock is "THE BEST" ROM for it, I just want simple functionality from my phone on T-Mobile (with wifi calling and wireless charging, hopefully!) Thank you for being supportive so far, it's a lot to take in!

Hi there grandpa_faust. I was in a similar situation as you in terms of wanting to use your Verizon LG G2 with T-Mobile service. I purchased a Verizon LG G2 yesterday. I rooted and installed recovery but kept it stock. I had planned to use the phone with T-Mobile service. After I entered the correct APN settings the phone would not even connect at H+ speeds. I think it was closer to 2G speed, but I knew that it should connect at a higher speed since my Nexus 5 reached LTE speeds with the same SIM card. I installed CloudyStock 2.2 choosing the Verizon variant in the Aroma installer. With the network mode in Global and with the correct APN settings the phone seems to be connected at LTE speeds. I tested the phone while I was out and about today and the areas where I had LTE with my Nexus 5 were connecting at the same speeds with the LG G2.
Your current baseband is the same one that I have right now. I'm not sure where you are at this point. If you are rooted and have recovery then you are almost there if your goal is to install a custom ROM. I'm sure there are others on this awesome forum who will chime in as well in case your problems are more involved.
Regards.

Ok, Emmitt! SO, data settings had defaulted to MetroPCS, now that I changed it to TMobile IPv6 the data works fine! However, the error message from before (android.process.acore, contacts) are still there and I can't use the phone or contacts. Should I just switch to a different ROM? Skype is still open for any takers
The solution:
Settings –> Applications –> Manage Applications –> All (button on the top that lets you see all applications) –> scroll down to “Contacts Storage” –> Click on “Clear Data” Then restart

That worked fine, but the same fix did NOT work for the messaging. I've got 2 out of 3! Thank you all for your knowledge, I hope we can get this last bit in.

did you do a full wipe in recovery prior to flashing the zip? Most installer scripts do this but if it's not done (otherwise known as a dirty flash) might be fragmented software causing conflicts.

I thought I had, I can re-wipe and reinstall if that helps! I definitely did prior to installing the recovery app.

Just try wiping dalvik and cache in advanced wipe of twrp. Should fix, if not do a factory reset via twrp this will erase all apps and data

Factory reset did it! Sometimes I still get a message "SIM detected, switching to global mode" or the network goes out entirely for 2-3min, but overall the phone, data and sms work just fine!
I'm going to try and figure out wifi calling, then I'll be golden. Thank you all so so much for your comments and support, I wish I could throw gold at you! Cheers.

The new problem is, I flashed a D801 kernel by accident and now it's in bootloop. I can sometimes get it to recognise the drivers and I can consistently get into download mode, but neither KDZ or TOT pushing has worked. :/

Can you get into recovery? Power vol- button combo? If so just flash correct kernel version n good to go. It will tell you factory hard reset but it won't. That's part of the Loki patch work around. Power 3 times then recovery menu will pop up.
