FoxtelGo now works on N6 - MM (Aust) - Nexus 6 Themes and Apps

For those in Australia (with Foxtel), as of this morning the FoxtelGo app now works on our non-rooted phones.
Now just need to find out how to get it working with root !
I just used the NRT to flash without wipe, and all good.
Actually, Foxtel now claim that their app will work with all Android devices from 4.1 up.
Cheers

Sprint HTC One 4.3 stock rooted WiFi tether possible?

This has probably been asked a billion times, but I'm sick of Sprint blocking tethering on my phone. I've had the phone since October, and I really miss tethering, which has worked on my previous Android phones flawlessly.
Has anyone EVER at any point gotten WiFi tethering to work with their Sprint HTC One M7?
I've tried a bunch of apps, and absolutely nothing has ever worked. I'd even be happy with USB tethering, if it worked.
Are there any proven methods, app, mod/zip or otherwise? I don't want to install a different rom, but I would consider updating OTA, if it doesn't kill my root and custom recovery.
BTW I'm running 3.05.651.6 (Stock 4.3 S-ON)
Thanks.
You're probably going to have to install another ROM as getting anything of that ilk to work on stock is slim.
Were you trying to stay on that particular firmware with Sense 5? There is a ROM that I used for quite some time and it worked. It will require a firmware update (which you can do without having to relock to do). Here.

[Q] Xperia Z2/Z3 Lollipop LBL Got ROOT, Is it possible on Z1?

Hi ! I was searching on Z2 forums and seems like they have managed to Root Z2 with kingroot method on locked bootloader. Its not working on Z1 currently but with some modifications it just might. Its almost the same rom still. I have no experience but someone might just get this working on Z1 too ! Just wanted to let you guys know ! Good luck o/
Here is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/root-t3108230
Yes, I asked the question and it seems to be feasible. I'd like to test it but I don't want to mess anything yet because I don't have any backup at the time...
used Kingroot procedure on my Z1 around 5 days ago.......worked fine, came from stock LB 5.01 and now rooted, Superuser, Titanium, and xposed modules all working fine. No bootloops, no strange restarts. Couldn't be happier.
Could you describe precisely what you did? I'm really interested in that! (if that works with Locked Bootloader, everything stock and Lollipop that's a wonderful thing!)
Info: Kingroot will read your IMEI and for unknown reason IMEI will be sent to China server.

I would be interested too
Maybe someone to reverse engineer the kingroot method and make it to some easy one click root, without sending any IMEIs ? that would be awesome !

Bit of research here

Over a week now, no problems. No mystery reboots or freezing. Was able to install superuser, uninstall kingroot, even trying the experimental xposed, titanium and the dual recovery all working as expected.

We've had root on LB since the 4.2 days. I rooted my phone back then, and kept it ever since. Unlocked the BL for some time, locked again, no loss.
If you're not comfortable with some Chinese closed source app running on your phone and applying some undisclosed root method that they claim is used by "other Chinese apps that need to get root", just downgrade , root, and flash back LP. It's much safer IMHO.
Safer yeah but the amount of work on that method that needs to be done is huge. Atleast compared to kingroot method that takes a minute, another for installing superSU...

Carrier Updates

Hello everyone. I did the root on my Galaxy S6 edge, and everything's been working great. The only thing I really use it for right now is so that I can run my app radio unchained reloaded app. Otherwise I haven't changed anything. Recently I've been getting carrier updates coming in that I have not been able to accept. They continue to fail. Is there a way I can update my phone yet still keep root? Or is there something else going on?

You can Odin back to stock (oc3), take update, then root using latest ping pong root. Or, flash a custom oe2 rom using flashfire, then use Odin to update firmware to OE2, such as is explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61198002. Or use smart switch to update, which will remove root.

SM-N900A with factory Android 5.0, formerly rooted on 4.2.2 - unable to root

Hello,
I apologize for requesting assistance with my introductory post, but I'm at a dead end.
I had rooted my Note 3 on 4.2.2 using towelroot. Everything was fine until I required Android 5 for my new Honda Ridgeline to run Android Auto. I had to have a Samsung rep load the factory AT&T 5.0 manually, upgrading the OS.
Nothing worked well until I performed the recommended factory reset. Apps reinstalled automatically after doing so, and I restored contacts pics and music from my smart switch backup.
I want to restore more from my Titanium Backup, but I am unable to root. I attempted KingoRoot and even paid $14.95 to get a "guaranteed" root from myrootsolution.com as a "last" resort. It didn't work either! (Guess I'll ask for my guaranteed refund!)
I'm PC savvy, but I don't have much experience in modding android. I have read about everything I can on this and still have not found a solution. I'm guessing that the various solutions are not working because it was rooted under 4.2.2.
Hopefully some kind soul out there will be able to help me with this. I'll do my best to pay it forward.
Thanks in advance!
I think I found the problem. I got an ota update and I'm now on the C3 revision. It was just released this month. Guess I'm out of luck for a while, huh?

Best or easiest way to update android version?

I'm using a SM-T710 running 5.1.1 that's been rooted. I've been on the same android version for years, and now some of the apps I use for my business are starting to run into issues. I'd just like to update the most painless way while still maintaining root. Is there a higher version that still runs well without any drawbacks like hardware not working?
If you want stuff work at least as good as possible and don't plan to tinker a bit... Your device was updated up to Android 7, but not when /system rooted. You need to load the firmware yourself and Odin flash it or do a reset with Samsung's softwares to the newest official one.
