Hi folks,
So I recently sent in my Z3Compact into repair due to the faulty audio jack (literally a week before my 1 year warranty ran out). They've fixed the audio issue but I now noticed that the notification LED light is super weak/dim.
I've ran the diagnostics test and it'll change colors from the green > purple > red but the level of intensity is just flat and dim.
I've downloaded Lightflow + other LED Notification apps to test different colors but same issue. I can see it in the dark dimly but I cannooot see it in daylight or in indoor lighting.
The phone was factory reset when I got it back but I figured I'd try it again. No luck.
What do you guys advise? It's really frustrating as I usually have my phone on silent and often rely on the subtle light notifications.
Thanks for your time!

Hi as the title really, had my xda ignito since monday and have noticed that it doesn't have a status led (flashing led when bluetooth/wifi, charging etc) instead in the earpiece speaker hole is the light sensor for screen illumination where the led would be.
Is the led not on original diamonds or did O2 take it out?
Well, mine is a HTC unbranded phone and it didnt have any status led anywhere. As you say there is only one little light sensor. This is normal.
Best regards.
Diamond and Touch Pro don't have a LED there, just the sensor.
They have four signal LEDs behind the action button though.
thanks for sorting that one.

I can't even look at mine they are so bright. In fact I just looked at them for less than a second and now I see spots as I'm typing this. There might be something wrong with your unit.
Mine aren't bright either. I compared to my N4 and the N4 is clearly brighter, despite having 1 led vs 2. I don't mind the amber tint. It helps take better photos because the color temperature more closely matches the indoor lighting conditions where you're likely to use the flash.
I also feel that the Nexus flashlight isn't as bright as it could be. However, the light on my last phone was similar, and I installed an app that increased the brightness for it. It worked great, but the LED ran much hotter after that.
I suspect that the reasoning for the dimmer flashlight is to not prematurely wear out the LEDs, or degrade their performance when they're needed for camera flash.
When taking photos, the flash output is quite surprising. I don't think it's a hardware issue, rather intentional software programming that runs the flashlight at a dimmer output. As a quick flashlight, I find the N6's lights adequate.
Hello,
I'm new to Huawei and one thing I noticed about my P10 is the very faint notification light. From a little distance it is very hard to notice.
I've tried installing Lights Manager, but changing the brightness there doesn't seem to do anything.
Does anyone have a way of increasing the brightness of the notification light on the P10?
Thx
I just got the phone and Yes my notification LED is SO DIM AND USELESS. I tried to use light manager and seems like the brightness is already the highest. Will pop by the shop in the weekend to see if it's my set problem or all sets are like that.

Mine is faint too. Or at least I find it that way coming from Sony Xperia phones where the notification LED was very bright and you can see it even on sunlight... Sony also used different colors for different notifications - here is green only unfortunately... Hope Huawei fix this in some future updates....

Hi all,
actually it has colors too. On Whatsapp, if you choose white or blue the notification light will change to that color. Problem is that there is no way to configure light colors for the rest of notifications, unless you install some notification light management app which I had once in a previous phone.
About the intensity, yes, it's a bit faint. But, personally I prefer it against Samsungs that I owned previously in which notification lights were so bright that at nights it illuminated my room when sleeping (and if it blinked, even worse!).
Leandro
useless tiny notification on LED. This is factory dumb design.
I actually like the brightness. Coming from a N5 where the LED was brightening up the whole room when someone sent you a message at night, the p10s subtle notification is much better.
Hey all,
As the title says, I think there is a bug regarding the notification LED that's on the top of the pop-up camera. I noticed that because when I received a notification from Viber app (that in RGB lights it's normally purple) it didn't light up the notification portion but it lighted up the other led of the selfie camera so u could see blue light coming from the inside from the gap. (In other apps like systems apps or facebook etc. it's working fine)
So my understanding is that the pop-up mechanism has 2 LED chips, one on the left of the camera and one on the right. The left one is also illuminating the notification light. (or there is a separate 3rd one). Thing is, our notification LED isn't RGB, so some apps that wanna show a different color (like the purple of viber) mess up with the lights and turn on the wrong ones. I think Xiaomi needs to restrict the control of the led chips and fix this bug.
Anyone else noticed this?
Thanks.
The light is a pita ,IMHO ,had to point the phone towards me all the time, from the teardown I notice only two light of the same color tone, blue unit blue led,red unit is red ,mine is white which is blue led
Can anyone provide a picture of 2 phones or the same phone with separate pics actually showing ambient EQ doing it's thing? I tried having it on and off for long periods of time and I've noticed what seems like no difference in color temperature. I just got this XL off swappa a few weeks ago and I came from the 2 XL which has a totally different color experience. I like the color and temp on the 2 XL over this 4 XL but what's boggling my mind is the settings and if they are what is causing the issues! I've read that a ton of people are having issues with this greenish tint/hue at lower brightness and it seems as though this phone has the problem as well. It's killing me as the screen always looks like I have a low level of night mode on, it's super warm and will turn grays to greenish hues at lower brightness. I wonder if ambient EQ that is supposed to be dynamically adjusting screen temp and colors based on ambient light is just basically broken and THAT is what is causing so many issues with the color temp and washed out vibrancy. I've tried all the suggested settings about forcing 90Hz, AOD, etc etc but nothing seems to change this. Infact 90Hz just being on in the normal display settings makes it worse. I did a split screen with settings and chrome on this website (I have dark theme enabled) and toggled smooth display and I can see it get MORE greenish when on so I've turned it off for now. Anyone else think that ambient EQ might be the root of the issues? By the way, I factory reset this phone like 4 times already when I first got it thinking that might help but it has not. Thoughts??
Blame samsung. Oneplus 7t which also has 90hz refresh rate suffers the same issue
