Tibu shows wrong Android ID host name. - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Tibu is showing a different host name from that shown by Kernel Adiutor and Change Host Name app. Bluetooth devices paired with the non-Tibu version all work fine, leading me to the conclusion that Tibu is somehow getting its info from a different file than that of the real host name. I formerly used Tibu to restore the ID after installation of a new rom so I wouldn't have to re-pair all my Bluetooth devices. That is no longer possible. Problem started when I flashed 6.0 rom. Now on 6. 0.1 Cataclysm with Despair 39 kernel but problem persists.
I have tried complete uninstall of Tibu after wiping its cache and data but the problem persists.
Searched forums but found nada.
Familiar to anyone? How to fix?

Easy. Stop restoring system data and pair your devices properly. Also proper troubleshooting helps. Like logcats

Thank you for responding.
I do not restore Any system data with Tibu at all. My devices all pair properly. As long as I ignore the Tibu version of host name. TIBU formerly gave correct information but now does not. Don't know if it is worth spending time with logcat to look for Tibu errors or behavior and comparing with.......what?
Just thought someone might have experienced something like this and could shed some light.
Thanks again for taking the time to consider this.

You mentioned restoring BT pairings. This is system data. It is not uncommon for this to happen more and more as android locks out things that use root.

Ah, I see. I'll just ignore the Tibu version for now then.

Installing apps from market

I seem to gave a rather interesting issue with my phone. Firstly, I'm running Cognition 2.3b6. When I first put this ROM on my phone I could install apps from the market over WiFi, but I'm now unable to. The last program I install was FTPFileTransferFree and used it to transfer a file over WiFi from my computer. I can still install apps from the market over 3G, and presumably EDGE as well. When I try over WiFi it'll download the file, but then won't do anything with it. Never seen, heard, or had this happen on other builds so it seems like it's just me. Anything I can do to fix it other than wiping my phone and reinstalling? That is rather drastic for such a trivial problem.

[Q] Bluetooth Adapter

I have a Bionic where I have installed and uninstalled various personal assistant applications. I found EVA to work the best for me but I get error messages related to the Bluetooth Adapter. The message is something similiar to "the bluetooth adapater is unable to receive the text.." or something similar. As such, the application responds when I press a button but because of the error the phone speakers are off so I cannot hear anything through the bluetooth or otherwise. Sometimes it initially works but then 5 minutes after use the phone drops the bluetooth completely and then everything comes through the phone speakers. The developer of the application thinks it is unique to my phone and my question is it possible for a particular file (Bluetooth Adapter) to become corrupted from various application installs/uninstalls? Since others have not complained, he suggested the problem is unique to my phone. Maybe it is and maybe it is not.
However, since I had planned to root the phone and install Titanium Backup anyway, I thought I could go one step further and reinstall the stock ROM to factory settings to test. I am on the upgraded .893 version.
Questions are:
1) Is it possible to just reinstall a file such as the bluetooth adapter or should I reinstall the whole stock ROM?
2) I have read through many forums and many posts which has 200+ posts and I am not sure which stock ROM is my starting point.
3) Do all ROM's use standard Bluetooth files or are they unique and developed to just support that specific ROM?
Thanks in advance.
Any thoughts or is anyone willing to try Eva on their Bionic to see if they experience the same problem?
I have not had that problem.
I recomend checking your TTS settings as well as maybe even clearing the app data for Eva and see if that fixes it

Thanks for the suggestion. I did that and went as far as wiping my phone completely such that I had to reinstall everything including Eva and TTS using Classic which I purchased. Any other thoughts?

Spotify not recognizing internal storage anymore

For some strange reason, Spotify no longer seems to recognize my phone's internal storage. I'm unable to listen to the radio and the following error pops up: 'No SD Card Found: We found no place to store our data, please check that you have a working SD card and free space". This started occurring after I upgraded to Mike's ARHD 10 (and remained after I upgraded again to 10.1). I tried Googling the issue, but couldn't find a single instance of anyone facing a similar problem. I'm fairly certain the rom is not to blame since no one else mentioned anything related to this--plus, the rom has been awesome thus far (just like Mike's earlier versions). I tried fixing permissions, and even re-installing rom after performing a full wipe. I also should mention that after uninstalling then re-installing Spotify, the app seems to run fine for a little while--but the error will rear its ugly head again after I try to open the app again at a later time . Also, I am able to access my internal SD card without a problem via ES File Explorer and everything looks about right when I go to Settings > Storage.
Any help would be appreciated
I get the same message when trying to start Spotify on my stock Gnexus. All other apps using internal storage works fine.
I have now uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify and for now it works fine, but I have to download all offline lists again

Thanks for the response. I started to receive this error (fairly recently) when I installed or updated my current rom. I got tired of having to keep re-installing the Spotify app, so eventually I went into Settings and decided to 'Delete cache and saved data' for the heck of it. This might not exactly be a feasible option for those who have a paid subscription and actual saved data, but I have yet to receive the same error again. :highfive:

Same issue here on my S4 (found this thread through the Spotify community... funny how us XDA members always end up troubleshooting products, lol). I was on Slimbean and thought it was the rom. Restored my stock Nandroid and got the same error a few hours later. Apparently, this will happen again later. Just wanted to chime in with my experience.
Same on HTC One. Put Sentinel rom on over the weekend, re-downloaded all my playlists and it worked fine on Monday...this morning, get the SD card message.
I was looking at where all my space was last night since I put Sentinel on and there was about 1.5gb in a Spotify folder under sdcard/data...the folder has gone.
I will re-install Spotify and see what happens.

It's been my experience in my past two and a half years here at XDA that the developers of ROMs and homebrew usually find a solution before the actual app developers do. In this case, there was a thread in the spotify support forum. That led me here. *shrug* it's how we do.

I come to XDA to find workarounds but when I pay (subscribe to) for something I expect the devs to work on a solution, I think the people working at spotify would like to hear about your problem too, because you can help them but many other people would just give up on them...
I had a problem too and contacted them, they are friendly and responsive

Spotify has many issues with android and the sd card error problem,i personally read the spotify forums and there are hundreds if not thousands having the same error spotify really should get there act together and fix this after all it is a paid service and you should be getting what you pay for.
What i did was put a new sd card in formatted it using the phone and kept spotify out, everything worked fine,so my advice for now would be to avoid spotify at all costs as you lose everything thats on the card as well ,at least until they fix this bug,of which we are all having to pay for

All WiFi profiles getting deleted periodically

My phone configuration
AT&T Note 3
Stock firmware, rooted with TowelRoot, few modifications with wanam.
Haven't changed/modified anything system level on phone other than few visual changes with Wanam Xposed
Problem
All the saved wifi profiles are getting deleted. Happened twice in last month. I do not see any reason why it happened. Today, I came to work, it connected to wifi. An hour later I saw that phone disconnected from wifi and was using mobile data. I went to wifi setting to find that all the saved wifi profiles were deleted. (It only showed one saved profile "attwifi" profile which I think is the default comes with the phone). Now I have to save all wifi profiles again for work, home, friends' homes etc.
Solution
This is where you come in the picture.
Has any one of you seen something similar?
Is it a known issue?
Can this be related to Google "Sync App Data"? Is Google syncing empty wifi profiles for some reason?
Do you guys know solution/workaround for this?
(I will update the solution section when there is a solution available, so all future readers don't have to pile through pages of comments to find the right solution)
Bumping
I've been having this issue. It's a PITA!
I am not rooted.
I assume this issue is very rare and only few of us are seeing it. That's why nobody is replying to this thread. A quick google search found a lot of similar forums but no solution
It's not particularly rare- in fact I have a different but similar situation: my phone will not discover new SSID's, thus cannot connect to them.
You'll find this website isn't always helpful; this thread has had hundreds of views, yet no responses.
Tis just tough luck
I have this problem too. Not only losing l the Wifi but also all my personal settings, such as sounds in unlocking, typing etc. Drives. Me mad

Mine does the exact same thing as yours. Every couple of weeks or so all of my wifi networks just disappear. I've tried googling with no success. I just can't seem to find an answer either. I even have general/backup and reset/backup my data unchecked. My Note3 did this both when I was unrooted and now that I am rooted. It is a real pain.
Well, lets hope that someone will have a fix for that in the future. The WiFi profiles are getting wiped like once a month so its not very annoying but I hope it doesn't wipe my SD card or my personal data.
I have unchecked the Google backup for now, lets see if it fixes the issue.
@K-Alzwayed has a great thread going with a bunch of fixes it looks like #2 in his thread might fix this, you might want to check it out and see if that works for you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2793441
For a workaround (needs root), try saving a copy of the wifi configuration file and then the next time you lose your settings overwrite the file with the backup version
Code:
/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf

Can't Log Into Google Now

Hi, I've been having this issue all day after an factory reset and flash of the factory image. I can't log into Google now and keep getting a network error. Doesn't work on wifi, data, I've done a reboot, wiped cache, force stopped Google search. Nothing seems to work. Was chatting with someone on G+ who said he's having the same problem on his G4. Seems to be happening on new device setups and Factory resets? IDK, anyone have this problem? Thanks.

I think it possible has something to do with the new thing where it signs you into apps such as Netflix automatically. My Netflix is setup to a different hotmail account and I think it may be the culprit...
I was having the same issue coming from M back to LYZ28E. I connected to my Wi-Fi at home and the message disappeared. It's been 7 hours already and haven't seen the message again. So I'm guessing that if you're seeing this message try connecting to a Wi-Fi. It might help...

I'm having the same issue. Flashed the 5.1.1 image as well. I was wondering if you flashed the non encrypted image?
Not sure this is related only to flashing M. I've had this same problem after flashing a couple of 5.1.1 ROMs and tried clearing cache for Google Now as well as rebooting, uninstalling-reinstalling Google Now, etc. what finally worked was I went into google settings and deleted card preferences. I was then able to successfully connect and get Google Now set up with the cards I wanted.

None of this is fixing it.
I'm.almost convinced is a lockout on certain email addresses. May have to call google. Just like one of the above posters said, I happened to all my other devices.
so now i am unable to sign into my phone at all.. not on stock 5.1.1 not on M... nothing... lol. my phone is a paper weight right now and there is no way im deleting my google account. idk what to do. lol. at all. google has me messed up right now. the phone continuously makes me resign in with no results.
So I switched ROMs and I lost Google now again. Turning on mock locations doesn't fix it. Try a different ROM, I was unable to sign in on a particular ROM as well.

ok... i am live again. i had to revert back to stock 5.0. lol. when i was on stock 5.0 everything worked perfectly, cards, syncing, etc. as soon as i took the ota to 5.1, upon boot, google now cards are borked??? but if anyone else runs into the issue of sign in loop like i did, revert back to 5.0 which was before all the crappy security changes that i dont care about. lol. and then disable the ota notification if you would like to keep google now cards.

OK boys a have a fix. Follow these instructions in this exact order.
1. Flash back to bone stock 5.0
2. Set up phone without signing into google.
3. Open play store, sign in.
4.set up google cards/ they should already be set up. If it ask you to sign in, press skip.
5. Update all apps. You may need to reboot for your apps to show under the "my apps" tab in the play store. I had to.
6. After getting everything up to date. Reboot phone.
7. Press "google" on the search bar on home screen
8. Press get google now cards. Skip the sign in as you should already be signed in.
