Flashtool not opening! - Sony Xperia ZR

I want to flash my xperia zr so i installed the latest version of flashtool but it's not opening.I tried older version too but still not working. My laptop's OS is windows 10.Is this a windows problem? Please help.Yesterday I tried to install pureX v1 rom in my xperia zr through clockmodrecovery but faild and not booting up after showing Sony logo.My device bootloader is locked. But that rom can be install on a locked bootloader. What's wrong?

Have you tried running the application with administrative privileges?
Right click on flash tool and run as admin. This might be caused due to Windows 10( if you have upgraded then various drivers will also not work. But it is not related to your problem )
Alternatively, if you have high end computer you could use Virtual Box and install windows 7 inside it and use flash tool.

I tried to run as admin but no luck.I don't have high end pc.What else I can do?I forgot to mention that The problem occurred when I updated my laptop to new windows 10 cumulative and some other definition update but before then I could open flashtool. So is this a windows software related issue?
By the way,How do I use virtualbox?and with intel core i3 processor and 4gm ram can I use virtualbox? Please tell me if there any other flashtool app available to flash my phone!!?

Thanks anyway.I solved the problem

[Q] unable to get kies working on w7 64, tried everything how can I flash firmware?

Hi all,
I am unable to get Kies to recognise my galaxy s (when in Kies mode) or windows for that matter. I've tried installing the samsung usb drivers etc using the latest version of kies, still doesn't work.
What options do I have now in terms of firmware flashing? (I'm not installing 32bit xp just to flash my phone)
Cheers
if you search the forums you will find your answer, which will be along the line sof using Odin, very easy to use, so good luck and enjoy.
win7-64bit and kies connection semi-working method
I've tried almost all methods mentioned on different forums...but since i'm unwilling to mess to much around i've opted for this way:
using latest kies 1.5.3. 80something... on win7 64 bit..
remove the lockpattern from the phone if yo uhave it enabled
install kies...remove the kies autostart option and the kies trayagent
do the repair drivers and reboot
ones the bios screen is done..have the phone unlocked and connect to pc/laptop
wait and wait some more after login to windows..
one most occasions windows will finally tell you it have a new device ready for you...then open kies and life is good.. at least until like in my case the laptop goes into powersave mode and the connections are broken and I have to do the reboot step again
the firmware update from jf__ something to jm__ something was a hassle...but after a few attempts to run it the darn thing finally worked..
hope this helps
thanks for the help b, tried it but didn't work
I think the official word from samsung is that kies does not support windows 7 64.
Seriously regret ever getting this phone.

i am with win7 x64, fine here
using odin to flash rom is dam easy job.
Kies updated to _82 today.
the _82 update fixed closing the firmware updater for me that was in the last 2 builds on win7 x64 , it promptly closes having not used up more than 33mb ram when I click cancel or close after checking for new firmware, previously it billowed up to over 1300mb use and really flawed my system until it, kies and the connection manager were terminated fully.

SEMC USB FLASH DRIVER for Windows 8 Relese Preview

Guys I just installed Windows 8 on my PC but the problem is the driver for SEMC USB FLASH doesn't work anymore. It looks like that it is not compatible. Tried using the drivers included in Flashtool but it doesn't solve the problem. I can't flash kernel. This has never been my problem on XP or Windows 7
Windows 8 is still very new as such, there are many applications that are not compatible with it... Also, not many applications have windows 8 compatibility. So, I doubt that there is a windows 8 version. You might want to try to install windows 7 in virtualbox if you don't want to uninstall windows 8.
You 're right. even SEUS and PC Companion doesn't work properly
x8 SEMC USB Flash driver does not work on win8
That´s true. At least it does not work on my toshiba satellite A215 running Windows* 8
I don't have any problem about flashing kernel and stuff like that on Windows 8 Pro x64 [not RP] at all.
Flashtool, have you run it as administrator?

The problem I have is that the drivers for Xperia X8 SEMC HUSB do not get automatically recognized.
I would like to know if you can post a link for downloading the drivers that win 8 does not automatically download.
Thanks for the info.

SONY Xperia SP " RANDOM CRASH"

Hi, i owned XSP C5302. Still not rooted, locked. Just without any modification. My prob is just this bloody hell random crash. When doing something with an app it just crash and restetting to homescreen, and its killed. Any suggestions?
Nb:
1. I am not able to flash through flashtool because insane driver installation.
2. There is no XSP on my SUS.
3. On PCC, there is a "repair my phone" but i cannot use it incompatibility on windows 8.1.
If i downgrade to win 7, and flash ftf, will it removes this bloody hell crash? Its annoying. I have experiences with flashtool because i had XJ before.

Maybe your problem is that you have too many apps running in background,(you know that Stock Rom has a huge problem with RAM management) and as the phone runs out of RAM, it causes FC's.
Also you may be running out of internal memory, you could root your SP and use "Link2SD", to have some more space on internal memory.
As you say, maybe a clean instal (with flashtool on Win7) could help, but if the main problem is one of the above, then you will have FC's again and again.
Hope this can help.

No need of downgrading if you don't really want...
Just install win 7 into a virtual machine ;D(Search up on youtube there are thousands of tutorials).
Then repair your phone from your win 7 virtual machine
If I helped click the thanks button

In my opinion I wouldn't risk it :/.
I would install windows 7 on a virtual machine and do my work from there.
Or at least visit a friend with win7 PC and repair it there ...
now i have downgrade to windows 7 and re-install .254
but still whenever i gaming it crash(without FC pop up). just reset it into app drawer or home screen and its killed. I got about 300+ RAM.
My Crash Logcat : https://app.box.com/s/2155yvl7bypjc0rg9z1j
Condition : Locked bootloader, Newly fresh installed Stock ROM, .254 fw.
if it rom bug, is there a chance that SONY will remove this sucks?
ITS FRUSTRATING........!!!!!:silly::silly::silly:

Need Win 7 Sony HS-USB Android Modem drivers

Hi folks.
It's been a while since I was last on XDA Developers site. And once again I need help please!
I cannot install the correct USB drivers for the Xperia Z to my laptop using a USB cable?!
I can connect the USB cable, and the contents of the phone are displayed. However before flashing the current ROM, I could see two storage areas - Internal Memory and SD Card Memory. Now I only see a list of files/folders are root level. I don't think this has anything to do with my USB driver installation problem?
Either Windows 7 does not recognise the USB drivers or I am not using the correct drivers for the Xperia Z (C6603)?
The phone itself works fine.
I have searched this forum and the whole of XDA Developers site and found several solutions, but to no avail. I am on the verge of pulling my hair out (whatever hair I have left, that is)!
I followed several solutions found on XDA Developers.
1. I downloaded and installed the flashtool-drivers.exe, and in the process I selected the required Xperia Z and SO-02E drivers and successfully installed these, however the yellow exclamation mark is still displayed in Device Manager??
2. I also downloaded the Xperia Z drivers from http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/. Yet still Device Manager displays the yellow exclamation marks under Modems, next to Sony HS-USB Android Modem and under Ports, three entries C6603.
3. I cleaned the registry with CCleaner, but still the yellow exclamation marks are seen in Device Manager.
I don't know where to go from here. Am I doing something wrong? Have I missed something? Am I using the incorrect drivers?? Do I need to start again??
I have attached images of Device Manager, Failed USB installation and Flashtool driver installation.
Phone
Xperia Z (C6603)
Android version 4.2.2
Build: 10.3.A.0.423 (flashed using the flashtool)
Laptop
HP Elitebook 6930p
Windows 7 64-bit
I need your help please!
there are drivers in flashtool folder

Ok well go to your device manager and uninstall the xperia z driver, restart your computer and after that install the drivers using the flashtool driver program again
thanks for the replies guys. Appreciate your advice.
I uninstalled the Xperia Z drivers from Device Manager and restarted my laptop. I then ran the Flashtool-drivers application and installed the relevant drivers, unfortunately the same problem still exists.
Not sure what else to do? May be flash some other ROM, although not sure whether this will have any bearing on the current issue?
Hi folks.
As per my problem above, does anyone have further idea on how to resolve the issue please?
Desperately need help!

HELLO how enable hs- usb mode for sony

PC Companion and Win 8.1

I found it very frustrating to update my Xperia T to the recent 4.3 release. PC Companion will still backup your phone nicely. I could see that there was an update, but PCC would tell me that it needed to be used in a previous version of Windows like Win 7 (?). Now this is incredibly stupid, but as we all know, there is always another way. I reinstalled and also chose other USB ports; no go. So I searched for answers and saw references to Compatibility mode - no matter what mode I chose however it made no difference. References to a recent MS fix had no relevence - it was already installed and not making any difference here. So I installed Java and also installed SEUS. I was able to get that going but it only showed recent various Sony products but not my T - argh! So after a few hours of of frustration I was no further ahead. Then I saw somewhere a suggestion for adjusting Compatibility Mode for SEUS - bingo that was the ticket. So the short version: Using Win 8.1 PC Companion is not going to allow the Update function to work, but SEUS will work, after switching it's compatibility mode to Win 7. Hope this helps.
