If Not mistaken then you were one who advertised before to find developers. And more than once you did it. Just curios Why you did it before if you had no knowledge and need tutorials? I believe that something is wrong around you.

The first thing you need telling is the truth, if people don't believe on you, you should at least say the true and try to gain again the confidence from members on this forum. At least you can start from nothing, we can't hates you our whole life(well, indeed i can do it).
look here:
take a look at these series on youtube. definitely the BEST you can have. of course u need to be stable and patient enough to get to the skin of it.
http://www.youtube.com/user/MarakanaTechTV?feature=watch
and as of linux build, i like mint 11. u can also try Fedora 16(i think it's perhaps the BEST OS ever), if you are just starting over, u best give a shot at natty narwhal or precise pangolin. youtube them out, try them out to decide the one best fits you.

Any devs want to help port this to the Verizon S3? I have tried but cannot seem to succeed...
Yes, I know someone did this back in February, but it was just the live demo version... I have been in contact with him and he doesn't seem to want to be of much help. All he said was "It should work with the newer releases", which it did not. I have no idea what he did to make that edited version of CM 10.1 work with the quantal preview, but I would like to somehow get it working with a stable release of saucy.
I have tried many things, and have not had success with any of them as of yet.
If someone could take a look at the files and figure out what needs to be done, I will do it just tell me what to do.
The original stuff can be found here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/39299-romwip-ubuntu-touch-on-d2vzw-dev-previewphantom-022213/
nightly updated builds from ubuntu can be found here: http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch/daily-preinstalled/
I really don't have much experience with porting, but if someone would be willing to partner up on this with me, I would be so grateful.. I really can't be the only Verizon S3 owner itching to try out Ubuntu Touch...
Really, nobody...?

you're gunna want to follow this guide to get you started up. I know there's someone working on the d2Att port which should be compatible with your d2vzw. I myself have been attempting to port this to the d2's as well but have had no luck. To the people that say it's as easy as porting cm: no it's not. I guess in theory it is but with all of the kernel modifications and stuff required to get it up and running correctly it's just a LOT of work. I hope you have better luck than i have had and let me know if you need any help, i'll try to be of some assistance.
If I had any experience with porting stuff other than pulling cm kernel, and a few other things and such from a working aosp rom and using it on an aosp rom from another device.... Anyways if I could I'd help, if I can quickly be taught, I'll contribute the crap out of myself into this. Official ubuntu touch is supposed to be out on October 17th according to rumors, around same time as ubuntu 13.10 release

Thanks for the replies guys, I will take a look at that guide.
I know it'll be out Oct 17th, which I am excited as hell about, cause its 3 days away lol. :good:
However, I don't believe our device is one of the ones "officially" supported, so either way we will have to figure out a port... I think...
I guess I will wait and see what happens Thursday and take it from there...

I did a little searching this morning but was unable to find anything.
I'm probably gonna just give it a week and look again, but if you find anything lemme know.
I'm gonna read that porting guide again tonight and see if I can make sense of it..

Same here, I've looked through it multiple times, a good majority of it makes no sense to me...
I'm pretty sure whoever said it was as simple as porting CyanogenMod was a liar lol cuz if it was that simple I'm sure we would've figured it out by now..

Part of the problem is that it isn't just another port. Given it's as much Ubuntu as Android (more actually), a fair bit of Linux competency is required as well.

I have a proposal that might get a good bit of hate but I want to see If any devs would work with me on it.
I want a port if HTC Sense 6 to the N5.
But can It even happen? I mean you see stock ported all the time but could you port something like sense?
That would be awesome

"stock" doesnt get ported to any nexus device, since they run "stock" default. to port sense to a nexus is extremely hard as it needs htc's framework, and if it does happen it would be partially if any bit at all. this will take lots of time and effort! and considering sense is not open source, you will not have any direct access to its code. anyways, considering that people are still trying to port the last version of sense, i wish you good luck.
I encourage all development but this might be quite difficult with closed sources and the framework. If XpLoDWilD can hack into the snap dragon processor and enable always listening from the low powered core then this is possible as well. I doubt devs of that caliber will focus on porting sense to a specific device non htc device though.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
well, you need damn good smali and hex knowledge, as you need to modify the bootstrap in a special lib and add support for s800 ://
it is possible but hard to achieve (well, last word is maybe incorrect, im sorry for that )
Best regards,
OldDroid
I doubt that you will ever see it happen. Which is too bad because of all of the different overlays Sense is by far the best. Unfortunately HTC is not particularly forthcoming with the source code for, well....anything. Having come from the Amaze (Ruby) HTC proved to be very difficult to deal with.
this would be amazing.. loved sense 6 the second I saw it.. but it would be great even if I got a kind of launcher at least. Stock android is great too
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Sense is closed source.
They are releasing blinkfeed in the playstore in the coming weeks/ months. You could easily download a sense like launcher and icons. I did play with the newest m8 at the ATT store and I can say I was very impressed. You could also make the clock widget in zooper, combine all that with blinkfeed and you have yourself an almost sense experience.
Go buy the "new" HTC One
Not that simple when you don't have a job

It's possible, but it would be extremely difficult and would require reverse engineering of the libs and some binaries, as well as likely needing a fully modified kernel and ramdisk. By the time it got fully stable, if it ever did, we would probably be at the release of sense 7.

Good job! I came here to link to that thread.
For anyone confused by the title, check out this post in the thread.
In my several years on XDA, I've seen a few attempts to port OEM skins (usually Sense and Touchwiz) to devices from other manufacturers. Of those attempts, exactly zero of them were successful. As much as I'd like to see this (and I would - Sense is actually pretty awesome), it's just not going to happen.

This is really cool, and I hope it ends up working. As of right now, it's only partially functional, which is about as far as most of these ports get.
Don't get me wrong - I'm pretty excited about the possibility of this. It's just that I've seen a lot of these before, and they always end up going dead after a promising start. Here's to hoping this one is different.
Can someone please tell me which is the best ROM for nexus 6??

No. That question is based on a personal basis and is not allowed on XDA.

Do what I am doing..... look at the roms, narrow your choices down to 3-4, run one for a few days, change to the next, and repeat till you find one you like.

There is no such thing as a "best" rom... there is only personal taste... Try different rom and see what the have to offer that you like...I personally like to stay as close to stock as possible so I don't like roms that have for example the app side bar....but you might.
yeah I understand why youre asking but at the end of the day the best rom for you is the one you like best.
I currently use stock it does what I need until there is an option I am missing or a rom with a far and away performance boost im cool with that.
Just ask yourself what specific things do I want?
Look for a rom with those. If there arent any specific ones do what was mentioned and look for 3 or 4 roms that you find interesting and dive right in
Oh and Backups = Awesome!
While i agree with everything said.
If you specify what your after in a rom. We could point you to one that fits the bill.
I personally like stable with everything and the kitchen sink.
Currently using euphoria and extremely happy.
What car is the best? ...... see
It's subjective. There is no best rom, that's like asking what's the best shoe to wear? Everybody has their own choices.
Its your responsibility to see what's out there and then give them a try.

Every ROM comes with some unique features. BTW this question has already been asked before many times Please follow the rule- "Search before posting". Though I'm listing some decent ROMs available for our Shamu
ParandroidAndroid
Chroma
Dirty Unicorns
SlimLP Beta
LiquidSmooth
Bliss Pop
Euphoria
And obviously the most buggy Cyanogenmod 12
Anyone consider getting Android Go version 8.0 running on the Nexus One given it meets the specs?? If love to use it as my daily driver for awhile for the nostalgia. #Trackball4life
