If you have relocked the bootloader with a custom rom, custom recovery or custom kernel installed on your phone, it will bootloop. If this is what you did, yes unlocking the bootloader will probably fix your problem.

Thank you and Dziękuję Stachura5.
Thank you alray.
I managed to unlock the bootloader.
Now I have no boot loop but I only get the white logo screen.
the good news is; i can now access the recovery menu.
To me, it seems as if there is no os at all. For this reason the first thing that came to my mind, is to search for the right rom.
again, thanks.

I tried 3 different run.exe roms, but i get an error notification.
should the ruu zip match my modelid and cid=

I have almost no experience in this kind of things, so maybe someone here could kindly suggest a specific rom.

Sense 7 should work. Are you transferring the zip file from your computer to your phone internal memory or you are ADB pushing?

What do you mean by "touchscreen was too unresponsive"? Was it complitely unresponsive? You couldn't do anything with your phone?

Not a bug. You have a very old h-boot. You will need to upgrade your phone in order to get newer touch drivers so your touchscreen can work

thanks for any tips guys
this belongs in general section.
since there is a red triangle i assume you have not installed CWM or 4ext?
OTA updates dont install on unlocked bootloader AFAIK.

There is a documented procedure at HTCDEV.com to unlock the bootloader if the HBOOT version is 1.16 or above.
Mmmh, you can install an official RUU from there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033922.

Yes download a RUU and run it. You just need to follow the instructions on the screen. It tells you when to power on and connect the phone.
If you put it in FASTBOOT USB mode, then type the command
fastboot getvar all
And then post the results, we will be able to tell you which RUU you should use.

you can install the ruu from hboot. just go into fastboot when you do it so it is in fastboot usb mode when connected to your pc. make sure drivers are installed.

Yes the 3.11.405.2 is a good choice to use, but your CID is OPTUS001, so you need a goldcard to flash a RUU from a different region.
More specifics can be found by searching this site and forum and reading about RUUs and goldcards. There is no better way to learn IMO.

It appears it's just me and you.
I bought a phone on e-bay, now USB port is (sort of) dead. Only charges when turned off.
I need to restore stock (locked, remove "tampared", unrooted, etc) so have it serviced.
I have literally put everything else in my life on hold to take care of this. Spend entire holiday!
I need this rom for ue with rumrunner/moonshine, etc... I'm still on S-ON...
Why do you need this particular rom?

then I think you should try the STOCK 4.3 ROM... this should definitely work. I tested it twice.

When you got s-off, were you using the universal tool, or the firmware specific tools? as far as i can see, the universal tool (unlike the specific versions), need root and unsecured kernel (which the previous fw specific packages did by themselves).

I used both... for the new phone I used a universal tool... but I didn't root the phone previously...
Where did you see that? I read again through the whole page and couldn't find a order to install supersu or/and a unsecured kernel...
Maybe we shouldn't discuss this in the thread... we're highjacking this thread^^ Anyways, would be interesting where you got this information form

I think it's okay, as long as we don't go forty posts on it; i saw it on while using rumrunner 0.5.0, ........ "ERROR: looks device is not rooted AND lacks an unsecure kernel. su or Fu!!!"
in fact ROM was rooted (odexed), but stock kernel, after installing custom kernel it was ok.

Hmm... that's weird^^ but to be sure, I'd also do what you recommend... I just didn't have this problem.. don't know why.. the One was just out of the box, unlocked.. not even rooted^^ don't know how this exactly happend. Maybe I was on a previous verison of rumrunner s off... but I am pretty sure it was one of the universal.. I'm gonna dig around in my logfiles.. I stored everything somewhere on my HD...

yes, sorry: as far as i know (AFAIK), when rumrunner switched from specific to universal, the first thing that was needed was a rooted rom, with an unsecured kernel "preferred, but not necessary",
now (as the number of devices, etc. have been added), rumrunner works best with a ROM compatible with firmware, also rooted and unsecured kernel (ie kernel with write-protection disabled)

oh mate.. what luck that I randomly saw your post... otherwise noone would have seen it.. remember: If you want to have an answer, quote or the other person won't be notified! This is just the way this forum works.. I am sorry.
Yes there is a fix:
Download Xposed Installer and install it on your device. Then install the framework... and search in the store(the one in xposed) for 3dot menu Mod... install it and the 3dot menu is away! To get the 3dot menu working, i can recommand Gravity box which you can use to remap the softkeys(longpress, doublepress)...
Edit:
Xposed doesn't work on ART Engine at the moment! Only dalvik works. Running it on ART will lead into a bootloop... but Xposed know this and disables ART before you run into further errors

with s-on you must have a locked or re-locked bootloader use it.
and btw, remove imei and serialno from your above post.

ok, also make sure to check that the MD5 value of your downloaded file will match the value given on the website.
should be: 5f121d72b8fa3f6f1704588467752605
you can use winMd5 program to check the value.

you can unlock again the same way you did the first time, using the unlock_code.bin you have received from htcdev.com. if the unlock code you already have doesnt work anymore, request a new unlock code by submitting you identifier token again.

I was more or less asking for your preference.
Your phone has partitions of memory which hold data, and when you update or install a custom ROM, the recovery utility mounts the partitions so they can be accessed to write and read data. Android does this every-time you turn on your phone. Formatting a partition doesn't delete it, it simply removes everything. CyanogenMod incorporated "block by name" mounting. Which basically makes it easier to mount partitions without being device specific.
Try this version of TWRP: http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.1-m7.img
Anything above 2.7.1.1 should work, anything below will not.
For ClockWorkMod anything above 6.0.4.8 will work.
So it's been a good few days with my M7 given to me by a friend. I am totally new at the whole custom ROM thing but had no problems with root, unlock, s-off, etc. but took me many hours as I've rarely used Cmd functions. Still have stock 4.1.2 sense 5.0. Time to move forward so ..... downloaded TWRP and ROM Installer, etc. Decided to update firmware next as some ROMs need later and lost touchscreen function. No other issues, boots fine into whatever and recovers into TWERP with full function of touchscreen. Should I flash older firmware or can I loaded newer ROM through TWERP to get back in the game ? need to answer calls and texts at some point soon !

Ok start with this http://www.androidrevolution.org/downloader/download.php?file=Android_Revolution_HD-One_84.0.zip
Android Kitkat 4.4.3 Sense 6
Download the rom and put the file in your fastboot folder on your PC and rename it rom.zip. Boot to TWRP recovery (2.6.3.3 Recommended) and connect your usb cable. Check adb is working with
Code:
adb devices
If you get the expected out put
Code:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
The command window will appear unresponsive until the push is complete. Factory reset and install the rom from TWRP
Gotta ask a quick question , just curious. I cannot download the rom onto PC then drag to folder on the phone then install through TWRP ? Not questioning method and advice given , just thinking as I have no experience and seems like it would do the same, but I wouldn't know ! I will proceed through command prompt as recommended for now .....

Awesome. As stated, all was well until flashing firmware 6.06.401.1 which may have been too big of a jump for my stock 4.1.2. The flash showed successful and went fine but I've read elsewhere that I should have been "relocked" before flashing , then unlocked after ? I am not seeing this step on all instructions ( I followed this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485651 ) Also didn't verify model ID (PN0712000) , may need to find a different firmware and re-flash ? Never got errors , just lost touch screen (which sounds common). Thanks all , hittin' the sack as this download from Android Rev is taking forever (need a torrent) ! Goodnight and thanks for feedback to come (something to look forward to in the AM).

Well you could always change your CiD to Dev Edition and flash the Dev Edition firmware. And no you do not need to relock your bootloader to flash firmware, That is only for S-on users. Your phone is s-off :good:
The problem with the touch screen will be the big gap between firmware and rom. think of it like using Window 8 with Windows 95 Drivers
