Accidently Deleted Stock Rom while flashing with safestrap!!!!!!! - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay, I followed your posts and have successfully rooted my Note 3, here is my current problem. If you can call it that. I flashed the alliance 5.0 rom, and i am assuming that overwritten my kitkat rom. And now i cant get it to boot back into safestrap. Any ideas?:crying::crying::crying::crying:

First you need the NC2 to go back to Safestrap
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/development/nc2-flasher-app-unsafe-t2989141
Then you can get into safestrap recovery.
If you want to go back to Alliance Rom 5.0 or any 5.0 Rom flash the OC1 kernel from here

Then enjoy. I hope that work for you.

[Q] Major help needed with lollipop root

Hi Everyone
I have updated my note 3 to the lollipop version found on this thread using Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/100-stock-lollipop-5-0-n900aucueoc1-t3069609
I'm now totally lost as to how i would go about rooting so that i can either flash a custom rom, or remove bloatware etc. I have rooted several devices before, but all the different note 3 models is whats got me lost and frustrated. My goal is to have safestrap (or something similar) installed, along with a recovery of some sort (cwm etc)
Does anyone have some clear and concise instructions as to how to root this device and flash rom's afterwards
Thanks for any help i get guys, sorry to be a pain

Odin back to NC2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54803130&postcount=136 Then root it, install Busybox and Safstrap. If you want Rooted Lollipop still "OC1 Stock Rooted Very Easy Procedure" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59666958&postcount=2 Safestrap is your only recovery, no CWM or TWRP it's an AT&T phone so the Bootloader is locked.
Thanks for reply
Just to clarify, if i follow the rooting tutorial here after downgrading back to 4.4.2 NC2 : http://galaxynote3root.com/galaxy-note-3-root/how-to-root-attverizon-galaxy-note-3-on-android-4-4-2/
and then follow the tutorial here for safestrap: http://galaxynote3root.com/galaxy-n...-custom-rom-using-safestrap-on-galaxy-note-3/
and then get rooted lollipop here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59666958&postcount=2
is that ok? (i know i need busybox also)
thanks

questions flashing lollipop roms...

so i purchased a note 4 off swappa that was rooted it I was looking at flashing a lollipop rom. the phone is currently running android 4.4.4 and baseband n910tuvu1ank4, and kernel 3.10.0-2796035, [email protected] #1. I haven't flashed a rom since my note 2 so my memory is a bit fuzzy on the process. Do I have to update all of this before I can go ahead and flash a custom lollipop rom? if so could anyone be kind enough to walk me through the process? I am also running At&t off the tmobile phone. (would this explain why when I click software update, nothing happens? The phone doesn't even go to a page to try to check.) Thank you to any one that can provide assistance.
Follow the guide here to update to Lollipop before flashing a Lollipop ROM. In this thread you'll find all the files you need to update, root, and get a custom recovery so you can begin flashing ROMs. Most ROMs will have installation instructions in the first post of the thread.

thanks for the response. i have root already but im still on 4.4.4. im looking to flash lollipop roms. Do i need to update anything or can i just flash a 5.0 rom right over my 4.4.4 stock rooted rom? i reread your comment which files do i need to flash in that guide? the two cod6 lollipop files? maybe im not seeing it but in the guide i dont see how to uppdate to lollipop....
You have to Odin flash the COD6 lollipop firmware. Just flash the entire 1gb file. Then follow the steps in that thread to root and get custom recovery back

so if i odin flash the cod6 file that is 1.8 gb that will replace my kernel or do i need to flash that as well? and this will make me lose root. and will have to re root the phone... sorry for the question i feel like a newbie again to all of this....
Yes it will replace everything. Kernel, bootloader, recovery, modem, everything. And you will lose root. But you can just follow the steps in the linked thread to get root and recovery back. And no problem! We were all noobs once lol

Can I use Safestrap and Xposed on my (AT&T G900A) Galaxy S5?

I originally had KitKat 4.4.2 rooted using towelroot, but I got tired of the ugly TouchWiz UI and wanted to try Lollipop. I successfully used the FlashFire method and flashed a pre-rooted Lollipop OF3 Stock ROM (DeOdexed) and I am using the OA1 Bootloader (I believe it's KitKat) which I flashed with Odin.
I would like to use Safestrap to flash the .zip required to use Xposed on Lollipop. I read that to get safestrap somewhat functioning, you have to flash a stock kernal to get it to boot into safestrap, flash your .zip, then flash another kernal to ensure that the phone actually boots after using safestrap.
I can't find a straightforward answer as to what kernals I should be using to do this for my specific phone and if it is even possible. I will list my phone's details below.
Thank you!
-AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 G900A
-Lollipop 5.0 (Pre-rooted OF3 Stock ROM)
-G900A OA1 Bootloader (KitKat bootloader?)

You can just use flashfire to install the xposed zip. Just make sure you're flashing the one for Samsung phones by arter97.
This is the one i use:
Xposed modules on G900A_OF2 - 5.0
is DeOdexed required for this - is it possible with non-DeOdexed?
Thank you

What SW version are you on, i you are S-ON you cannot flash a lower version than the one already installed on your phone, it has to be a similar or higher version, plus it has to be precisely for your Model or it will fail.
The only option is to restore stock ROM Backup through TWRP and flash stock recovery...

Hi,
All steps are explained in detail here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-mini-2/general/stock-ruu-rom-recovry-htc-one-mini-2-t3250020
You need to have TWRP installed to restore Nandroid backup.

Rebooting problem after trying to update to Marshmallow

I got a notification that my phone was able to update to Marshmallow today so downloaded the update and set the installation on its way. The problems start here, when rebooting after starting the installation it boots into TWRP, I'd previously rooted my phone but unrooted it after a while, though all I did was select the unroot option on SuperSU and didnt relock the bootloader or anything like that.
The TWRP is v2.8.7.0, and my Moto G is a XT1072 version and currently running 5.0.2.
Im tempted to factory reset but worried that might brick my phone. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

You can´t update via OTA with a custom recovery like twrp installed. You have to be on stock recovery and the latest full unrooted non-modified stock firmware. Unlocked BL is no problem and doesn´t matter.
In most cases just unrooting and flashing back stock recovery is not enough because there still could be small changes which will make the OTA installation fail.
Nevertheless you can try that or you flash the latest 5.0.2 stock firmware.

Anex to words of Wolfcity, if you want to update via OTA you will need to install stock recovery and stock rom of LP, there is a procedure with a toolkit that you can easily find in general forum. The tool kit will help you to back again at the beginning. Nevertheless, why use stock firmware with a lot of cool roms to flash? [emoji4] [emoji106]
