Finally some real apps! Scoreboard that keeps track of all sports and picasa album that you can upload photos into. Loving it they both kick butt!!
there is a new one from Google for maps as well, Google maps editor. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it integrates into the map program- I cant pull up stuff I have pinned in the ap with the normal maps program.
I guess the thing I need to learn about android is that we dont really seem to have any plug-ins, just new programs to work alongside the current ones. It seems like google would have an extension, or plug-in that would work WITH maps.
I think Google rolling out a couple apps this late in the game is laughable. Personally, it seems like they've expected the advanced user to do it themselves and they're rolling out apps to appeal to the sidekick end of the spectrum. Anyone locked out of root at this point is feeling pretty butthurt I can imagine. Don't give me a scoreboard app, give me an application that will let me save apps to my sdcard. I can imagine if the latter isn't worked out, it could cause some frustration when they begin to charge for apps; i.e. hard reset= bye bye apps I paid for.
/rant
They probably have larger treams to work on the big stuff, like root. I think, more likeley that these are some of the "personal projects" Google employees are expected to work on.
As far as the hard reset issue, I expect that the market will keep a record of what you paid for so you can download things again as needed.
The My Maps Editor (which I can't find on the market???) is shown as that Google staff member's 20% work time. So while it;s released by Google, it's not actually an allocated Google Project.
Also, I'd say the Picasa app is a "plug-in" not an actual 'side-by-side' app.

Yeah i hear you, its hard after all these years of being a wm user not to call them plugins. Will have to check out the maps editor one didn't even see it. If it doesn't work with maps then kinda defeats the purpose!

It's just a name of developer. You can register a company name when register an develop account.
Well, even if "Google, inc" isn't the real Google, they have by far the most polished looking and working apps of anyone else listed in the market that I have seen yet. I dont even need or use Scoreboard, but I still downloaded it and I am very impressed with the workings. Good for impressing friends
i'm new to android and i've been waiting this since CES n now i've got it in Singapore!
However, when I switched on my 2X i found there's no any preloaded games that mentioned in the gsmarena review, the spiderman and shrek kart, tegra zone as well. The set comes with a HDMI cable too.
Anyway, that doesnt matter a lot but I dont understand why i can't buy paid apps? and market not even show those paid apps too.
ROM and stuff i'm learning now too but if there's anyone who kind enough u can simply post here, starting from the basics =D
much appreciated!
go to the appdrawer, then press on the icon named "preinstalled apps" and a list of apps will appear, including the games you mention - click on the ones you want to have installed. The apps are delivered as installation packages on the phone, but not preinstalled - LG leave it up to you to deside which of these you want to install.
erm. I cant see any appdrawer? but i clicked on the application thr's folder called preloaded apps but only 4 useless apps inside, like the compass apps etc.
and i just realise my location are not support paid apps. so if i root my hp will i able to purchase paid apps?
Hello iam having Small problem and it is now big enough to make my android life like hell , at first I didn't have the market installed, I fix it by setting the phone region to international and I live in egypt
the problem is that I can't view paid apps neither download or find them using other aspps like app brain , what made this even worse is that I can't view most of the free apps aswell ! I need alot of apps and games my android is just boring like hell
What can I do?? Thx in advance
This is because Android Paid Applications are not available all over the world. (Just in a few countries.) Also some free apps are limited to download only in some certain contries. That's why they are not showing in your region in the android market.
I know that they are not available :s what can I do to enable them iam sure there is some kind of crack for it
Hey guys, im having an issue i would like to share with you.
I got my Oreo update (finally) yesterday so i made a bckup, updated my phone and then i factory reseted it. So far so good, everthing went smooth, but....
Before update (on N 7.1) I used to use an app to create a "parallel space" and clone apps such as whatsapp, telegram, etc.., since my phone has dual sim, i now use one device for my personal/work phone numbers, so, the ability to clone apps its essential. Unfortunately with the Oreo update it seems like apps are now not allowed to use "play services", i got them cloned but cant pull any backup (for whatsapp) or login (ie. cloning youtube and login with a different account to have access to different subscriptions; cloning whatsapp and pulling a backup from google drive; cloning games and pulling anything that is there to pull from google games; etc).
Any thoughts? i paid for Parallel Space app so i most likely will wait for developers to find a solution but in the meanwhile im unable to use any cloned app properly and since its work related i would really apreciate any idea, cloning app sugestion, anything would be apreciated

Runs great i just need to figure how to syncronyze google accounts into the island so i can retrieved my contacts
thanks buddy, Island is a nice alternative since it doesnt mean extra storage use when cloning an app (apparently).
Hey guys,

I use this tool since years...
I actually use this..I think it's better than locking apps because it actually hides them or you can even use it to create multiple logins for certain apps like Paypal and such.
