There has to be a way, the lack of root for this phone kills it for me. I wonder if i can do it manually(coding)...

So i was able to get adb working for the Axon Pro... Has anybody had any luck rooting? Just thought I would ask before dedicating hours to getting this device rooted if somebody has done so already..

Nope! Haven't managed to find a way to root it. Tried asking ZTE for help they didn't respond. They did however respond to someone else saying it would void warranty (knew it and didn't care!).
Would really appreciate it if you could root it and let us know how you did it!

Easier root (root is already achieveable by now, but to troublesome, need pc to do it), flashing mods, and many more

Exactly. Apps like greenify. Titanium backup. There's a few things I wouldn't mind deleting or freezing that I don't use. Helps with performance and battery

Need twrp first
I have read of "delicacy" of this device and the ease of damaging it using rooting with lightness.
Despite having performed hundreds of "genetic experiments" on my previous devices, I think this Mate 10 Pro will leave you in peace also seen the price not so cheap ...
Apart from the fun of modding and changing rom this Huawei works too well to play with lightness.
There is no bloatware, energy consumption is optimized, and you can only do damage.
With the root I can only make it worse, so let him in peace. For a while...

Well best of luck to him then. A person who uses rooted devices for a long time, it is very difficult to get used to a non rooted phone. Android is no Android without ROOT. BTW I have already bricked my phone...

simply means the apk you tried to sideload and was not needed or compatible. happens all the time. thats my guestimate

I just bought my Mate 10 about a week ago ALP-L29 version. Now running EMUI-9. I've been desperately looking for any themes besides the stock and only found a few themes here and there. I decided to try 183 themes that I used to have for my Huawei Mate 8, which I also got here in XDA. So far every theme that I've used worked.
Thought maybe I can save someone else the trouble of looking.. here is the link to the thread.

Exactly, the OP has wrote all are working, so i have applied all and found none is working properly on EMUI 9.

I dont have root. But that method hasnt changed for bootloader unlocked phones.

I never update my phone never ever ever but I was victim of sudden green tainted screen like many Samsung user and I made the mistake thinking updating would probably fix it but not that it didn't it fix my screen my screen but it took away the last chance to fix it by downgrading as I saw it was the only solution for some....thank you for your help tho!!!

Sad to hear. Downgrading will not fix this Screen issue as i heard. I alo stucked on 202 june 01 update when i had my Note 9. Because of this screen burn issue. I thin you may try by updat or downgrading. But screen replacement is the one and only option in this time.
Some replaced their screen and the problem came back and when i use an app called oled saver the screen get fixed like 90%. Its a mystery or purposely done but over a thousand dollars phone that last 2 years is really not fair....
