Hello everyone, I'm an owner of a HTC ONE S with HBOOT 2.15 and the internal memory is partitioned in 2: 3GB for OS and application and the remaining 9 for photos, music etc ...
I wanted to know if the Moto X in 2014 was the same thing, or the 16Gb of memory are declared in a single partition, or in the second?
Thanks so much
single partition
My moto x 2014 (few weeks old) has 16gb storage but only has 10gb available for apps and media. I have a 3 GB system partition but only 1gb is used (I flashed cm12, maybe moto bloat and gapps are that big?). Rest of space is probably for kernel and cache partitions and such.

I used to have the full 16GB of usable memory for apps on my internal SD card when I was on CM9, until I decided to upgrade to CM10, which at the time said that I had to have 400MB of cache memory to run ART. So I used the 're-partition cache' utility on CWM, set it to 1GB and off it went.
Long story short, ART got activated, but now I only have 1GB to install apps on instead of the 16GB I used to have. I also have two INTERNAL STORAGE views in my Settings->Storage under CM11 now, one showing 0.94GB and the other showing 13.63GB. This persists through re-stocking and reflashing with Overcome and whatnot.
The tab still runs fine, ART is activated and all (and without the 400MB requirement now as of CM11) but I want to install some big games and they won't fit on the 1GB partition. Isn't there any way to merge the partitions back together?
Moto g 2014 have 16GB ROM but i have only 5.5 GB internal and system get 2GB. Apps get 1GB and free memory is 2GB. Why?

But why so little free memory?
You must have quite a few apps. You can pick up a good bit by going to settings, storage, and clearing the cache.
So I have 23.92 gb Internal storage, I have 16 GB worth stuff on my phone but it shows 20.92 GB full. Why so? I know that for system a whole 8 GB has been separated
But where is the rest of 3 GB?

Hi Folks,
i "updated" from G4 (16GB) to X4 (32GB).
Well im a bit disappointed because of the internal storage. From 32GB only about 17GB free. My old G4 was using about 4GB from 16GB. I thought maybe 8GB used... but now its nearly 16GB .
It this because of this dual partition stuff (Slot A/B)?
If i flash Lineage (works great on the G4) can I get more free space?

I have a fair amount of apps installed (72), and have noticed a lot more space than stock.

After the installation of LineageOS v15.1 + GAPPS pico + Magisk 17.2 + TWRP I have approx. 20GB free.
Friends, I have the 32gb version and I installed Havoc OS 2.4 but it's taking up 16 GB of storage, is that right or did I do something wrong in the installation?
I have this Variant too. Only 17gb Free. 11gb to system and no SD slot. On Redmi note 5 have 24gb Free and sdcard. Any Idea to help us ? Um sad with this
@evertonfernandes Its right installation is proper
System partition would take anywhere around 7-10GB. So the storage manager is NOT at fault.
on 32gb...YOU only get 24-26gb to use.
I understand, but it happens that 32gb only have available only 16gb and only, can you tell if this is right? I already had other 32GB devices and 23 ~ 24GB of internal memory was always available.
