Am stuck with 5.0.1 - Samsung Gear Live

Hello, am using gear live. Am stuck with 5.0.1. All the time when I check system update, its showing "system is up to date". Why am not getting 5.1.1 update? Help needed... [emoji53]

Check you build number
Check your build number (under the software version). If it has Dev-Key in it, it is probably developmental firmware.
See post http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-live/help/samsung-gear-live-firmware-t3249219 for issue.
I used this to fix mine.

Stage fright update fails to install

On wife's G gen2 the stage fright update prompts all the time to install...every time it fails then reboots...after reboot states it failed and no changes were made.
It is locked, not rooted, all stock 5.02, has never been unlocked.
I think it is xt1064 model.
Can I flash a stock rom with locked bootloader?
Will 16gb Gen 3 models be available for sale again?

ok goto about phone and get the model xt106x ? the build no. and system version - I will point you to correct FULL rom (with sf fix if possible) Full xt106x roms in my signature
yes you can flash a stock rom with locked bootloader ( normally same or higher build version) you can not go backwards or down (downgrade with locked BL)
yes they will but its a IF and when (wait and see) amazon normally a good indication of when..
Sorry for late reply, have been out of town...
Fairly sure it is XT1064, it is U.S. version 3G...
Build is LXB22.46-28
System version is 22.21.28.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US retus
Android 5.02

I found your ROMs with stage fright already included in another thread that you created and followed those directions and it seemed to work fine.
Although I noticed the Google Services is back to using up most of the battery where usually the screen uses most of the battery. But that is other issue.

T-mobil MRA68K to MRA68X

I have a Nexus 6 bought directly from Motorola but with a T-mobil sim from my
last phone. I'm running the MRA68K factory image of 6.0., and have never been
offered an OTA update.
Let me tell you what I THINK I know.
Although MRA68K does include the T-mobile band 12 and wifi calling feature,
for some reason T-mobil was not happy with it due to some bug revealed
in testing. MRA68X is the release they are happy with, and is what T-mobil
users running 5.1.1 are getting OTA. This OTA is not usable for phones running
any of the 6.0 release. There currently is no factory image for MRA68X.
Here is what I don't know:
- Will MRA68X be eventually released as a factory image.? Usually that comes
before not after the OTA. If not it would seem the need to flash a 5.1.1 image
to be able to take the MRA68X OTA.
- Is the T-mobil specific release a one time thing, or will there be a sequence of
T-mobil specific releases as in 5.X?
- I presume that when the phone checks for an update it bases it on the carrier's
SIM. Just curious, is it Google downloading the update but subject to the carrier's
instructions?

I have run all the MRA builds (K, N, R) on T-Mobile and they all support and have fully functioning WiFi calling, Band 12 support, and VoLTE. Not sure what's specific about X but I decided to switch to it just because it's "official".

For X I flashed the factory ProFi 5.1.1 then sideloaded the 48I to 58X OTA.

According to the T-mobile document

It's only the L* releases that can be updated with the OTA.

I don't see where it says *only* L releases get the update but it may just be a matter of semantics.
"To be able to update to the current software version, the below requirements must be met:"
^^^ I take this to mean that you must have at least L to get the update. If you are on M already then you still meet that requirement. That's just my thoughts though. Dez is always in the know and that's what he said. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I noticed that your signature says "Nexus 6 rooted". If that is in fact the case, you will not be able to install any OTA. Neither via sideloading nor "over the air". The installer looks at the system file, and if there is ANY change from stock (including being rooted), it will abort the install. I've had it fail, even with a couple of apps frozen.
It looks like the document
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-18109
has been updated. It now list MRA68K as eligible for the OTA to MRA68X. Earlier
it just listed the L* releases.

Found out my NEW Note 4 I brought is on Android 5.1.1 (DOK2) - Should I return it?

I just brought a NEW T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and upon powering up the phone for the first time I found out the phone was on Android 5.1.1 (N910TUVU2DOK2).
Should I return this phone?
The reason I am considering returning this phone is because it is my understanding that the SM-N910T on Android 5.1.1 CANNOT do the following:
1. Cannot be rooted (partially or completely).
2. Cannot be downgraded to Android 4.4.4.
3. Cannot have any apps installed that would unlock the mobile hotspot feature without having to go through your carrier to pay extra.
Can anyone confirm if the above restrictions are correct?
I did the same thing in january..I was so damn excited about getting a N910T that I thought I could do whatever I wanted with and I didn't read up (well enough) on developement and ended up with DOK2. It is true you can't downgrade....as of right now....but I have never had any issue at all with root or apps that require root. As far as the the hotsppt mod is concerned, I can't help too much with that info because b I use straight talk...but i think it's a hit or miss situation...I think the two most popular roms for our phones (Tekhds and Overdrives) have the mod built in but I'm not 100% sure.. but I think the only way you could get one without DOK2 would be used

Yea, you can be rooted on Android: 4.4.4 -- 5.0.1 (see this thread from the first couple of threads stickied: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55989825 ). It would seem root on 5.1.1 is not possible.

YES! 5.1.1 CAN be rooted. Just download the newest version of CF-Auto-Root. Do NOT use the one in the thread above/ below. It's outdated. Search that thread however to find others who HAVE rooted their 5.1.1, like me.

And for cf autoroot I am going to flash
CF-Auto-Root-trltetmo-trltetmo-smn910t.zip

Question about updating
Hi, first post on xda.
My phone is an AT&T version but I live in AU, and I want to update it to marshmallow from what it is currently on (5.1.1), and it won't update since I'm not in the U.S.
It's currently on AUCU3BO12.
Can I flash this PG1 without upgrading to anything else first? Can it go from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 directly from BO12? (According to AT&T's website, BO12 is a bit down the line in terms of updates, there have been a number since).
Edit: Also, which .tar file do I use out of the 4?
Thanks!
Does anyone know the answer to the above?
Finally unbricked my G920 Samsung Galaxy S6 with this
Thank you so much for this. I bricked my phone by stupidly flashing a 5.1 firmware and i've been scrambling to fix it for about a week now. And I couldn't find these files anywhere. Thank you so much

So I am thinking about going back to stock, so I went to Sammobile to see what the latest is. It shows a firmware FLP1 from 1/17/17. I'm surprised I don't see any reference to it here on the forums. Is it just a a security update? Has it been rooted?
