Request for help to the more experienced, I have a moto x X1058 that does not write anything in the internal storage, it does not use memory card.
It is with Android 5.1
bootloader Unlocked
Root: Yes
Note, if I download any application that records the internal storage gives error.
Explore Root installed, I tried to create a folder and gives it impossible to create the folder. Tried with EsFile happens the same mistake.
Interestingly if I download something with Chrome it downloads without giving error.

Try going into TWRP recovery and going into "Advanced" and "Fix Permissions"

Hi there,
i guess something is wrong with my internal storage.
So i did unlock my boot loader, installed SU and reinstalled the image due to the boot loader unlocking.
several issues i encountered now, along with not possible to connect to play store on wifi (had to delete hosts file).
The main issue i now have is that my android shows about 500MB free internal space, but im not able to install apps (installed about 30-40 apps and had to move them in several steps onto the sd card), cant save screenshots or export files from dropbox to sd card (maybe it cant be buffered in internal storage). But i can send pictures through whatsapp which get saved on internal, i have no issues.
also when i take pictures with camera, the files get saved to internal\DCIM but i cant view them with gallery as it requires a reboot of app due to missing temp space.
any ideas whats wrong with my phone?
edit: ok, guess i messed up completely. thought this was maybe a permission issue so i tried the "fix permission" option from twrp and now im stuck in bootloop (seems to be a common issue on lollipop).
as i saved my whatsapp data to my sd card via twrp file explorer, i would likely to do a fresh install of my os (stock rom). how do i get a clean install of that? because when the image reinstalled itself, the internal storage seems not to got wiped as there was a twrp folder on it and i had SU (or maybe i have no idea and this is normal), but i wonder where the issues with host, file permission, (also some whats app issues), aswell as a file i could not delete from internal root (which i copied myself onto it) with root explorer or connected via usb with windows explorer, had to go into twrp and delete it with its explorer.
You did do a factory recovery before flashing and wiped the cache/dalvik before and after flashing didn't you?
Hello folks.
I've been deleting files form SD card, using MTP. Deletion works without error, files are not shown any more.
However: The SD-card does not show any more free space as before the deletion.
Any suggestions?

Hello folks.
I'm wondering if my question is not clear.
I have 30MB left on my SD, even though I did delete a bunch of stuff.
I really could use a hint - would like to copy some new content to it, once I get more "free" space...
Well, how have things turned out?
You know about the extra restrictions regarding external storage added in Android 6. You can barely use the SD card as it is, let alone have Windows do things to it.
Have you tried checking the storage with a file manager? ES File Explorer and X-plore could be granted some sort of write permission - see if the files are still there and delete them through your phone - although those two have a recycle bin option, make sure you uncheck it first.
And start using Temasek's custom ROM in the first place. If you're using the SD card as much as I do, that's the only reasonable option when it comes to Android 6.
Not sure if this has already been posted, so please forgive me.
I'm nearing the final step of rooting my P10: flashing the root file. I'm using SuperSU root, I downloaded the file on windows, then dragged it into the internal storage via USB cable. Booted into TWRP, but could not find the zip file in internal storage, nor can I find it in the MicroSD, because the folders in my MicroSD are all encrypted. SDcard in fact shows 0mb, hence after researching, i try to mount Micro sdcard, but i am unable to check the box in the mount section...
Yes I am using the latest versions of the root and TWRP. I've also disabled the lock screen password. First time rooter, I have no idea how to carry on, and am very frustrated, am I suppose to like format my sdcard? Please help, any solutions/alternative root methods would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Edit: Realised I actually don't have my sdcard attached in my phone, so i guess the sdcard 0mb is called for. Still can't find the file in internal storage though.
Hello!
I have rooted my phone following this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/twrp-how-to-root-p10-lite-t3617418 (I downloaded Version 6/a of SuperSU).
But something went wrong with my Internal Storage during this process. It feels like "It was locked" or something like that. I can't create folders in internal storage, I can't download apps or update them, I can't access gallery, and I am getting errors like "Your storage is full", even when I have like 10 GB free. I also found out that the "Internal Storage" is full of folders with random names, and there is no "Android" or LOST.DIR or DCIM folder. I tried to change default storage to SD Card, but nothing has changed. Can anyone help me please?

Ive stumbled across this randomly while browsing the forums, it requires TWRP but it seems like it might work in your case.
I am unable to locate magisk in internal storage in TWRP. Internal storage shows some size but cannot see the zip file anywhere. I also dont own a sd card so using that is out of the option. I have even tried adb sideload but it was showing as error 2. I am just 1 step away to root my phone and that is just to install magisk somehow on my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

first, get a micro sd card. on some roms you might encounter a problem with data decryption of internal storage, thus making reading anything with twrp unusable. also you need one to make a nandroid backup to restore your phone. second, see where your browser downloaded the file. perhaps in android/data ? some of them do download there, since scoped storage

Thanks for the response. I thought we can root without sd card as nowadays phones come with internal storage. Anyways, I have not added customised rom its the original one that I use. The file I downloaded was in another zip folder, not in android/data as seen on pc. also in twrp I can see my storage is mounted like I can see the size number "Internal Storage (532276mb)" something like this but I am still unable to locate a single folder let alone any file in internal storage. I am so confused as how to proceed further.
try removing any security from your phone, like fingerprints or pin. maybe thats a reason
