How do I play this game on my TV via Chromecast?
Thanks.

This game while having support for Chromecast not have the option to activate Chromecast.
Have you ever tried?
Its simple. Click the chromecast button when in main Window. It will allow you to use your phone screen to move the fingers like the birds, the birds will be on screen

I dont what to tell you. Just keep trying. Maybe your phone has problems trying to find chromecast so cast button doesnt appear.
YouTube app finds it easier than other apps. Try connecting to youtube first then try to cast by using other apps (like angry birds).
Keep doing this with diferent cast apps (first youtube, then Spotify, TuneIn Radio, screen mirroing, etc) until your phone can find cast button without having to cast youtube first

Thanks for doing this test.
This game I downloaded from the play store Italian. Perhaps the Italian version does not have the Chromecast button.
In fact, the play store Italian there are some comments that talk about the same problem.
Where can I download your version?
Yes it does and i read some people having the same problem as you and at first, i had it too.
Just have patience and do what i did.
Some roms have problems to get cast options on their apps and need to try frequently until it connects easier.
If you want faster times, try aosp based roms (like cyanongemod)

Is it possible to leave youtube play in the background ?
Background app or at least tab in a browser that supports flash play in background.
From what i know...
Youtube policy prevents users from playing movies on the non-active tab.
Fash is a resource drainer and letting it run in the background will cause significant lag and battery depletion.

Opera allows you to play a video in the background on a tab. Or you can us an app call stickit (video player, you must use the share function in youtube to make it work). Hope it helps.

I also use NextVid, its free, supports playlists, but I haven't find a way to import an entire YouTube playlist into NextVid, so I had to search for songs manually and create new playlist
A small solution for NextVid

While doing a search on NextVid, search for your own channel name (and / or your playlist name with a space between them).
Then on the search results, press 'Playlists' instead of 'Videos'.
There is your playlist, but a bit missing, because this playlists, as far as i observe, are limited to show only the first 25 videos.
So you must first prepare your playlists 25 by 25 on youtube then search with NextVid.
Hope this helps.
I have Netflix installed on my phone but it doesn't show a chromecast button. Can it be done from within the app or just from Netflix on a comp?

Both. Do you have the chromecast app installed?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I believe you need the Chromecast app installed on your phone to get the Cast icons to show up in Netflix and other supported apps.
You do NOT need the chromecast app, but your chromecast does have to be setup and powered up. Should say ready to cast on the TV if you switch to that input.
works peachy for me right out of the box. The chromecast app does nothing but allow you to set it the device, find WiFi etc...

I have the chromecast app installed on my phone. Youtube works just fine and netflix works fine from the desktop. I just dont see the icon in netflix from my phone. Unless the chromecast needs to be turned on first?
as soon as I open Netflix from my phone, the little icon to send it to my chromecast appears right away, but mine is turned on all the time .... Have you checked for updates? Otherwise I really dont have an answer aside from try turning it on first then launching Netflix

I could be wrong but how is it supposed to detect the chromecast if it's turned off? I would definitely assume it needs to be on.
Yep that was it. Had to have the input set to the chromecast for the button to show. Didn't know that.

No Chromecast Button On Netflix
I have the most recent version of Netflix installed on my LG Optimus L9 (P769) running JB 4.1.2. I don't have the Chromecast button, but I do have one for YouTube. My older Optimus V is running the same version of Netflix on either GB or ICS and it displays the Chromecast button. The Netflix layout is different between the 2 phones as well.

Both devices are on the same network. Both have the Chromecast app installed and can see the Chromecast device. The newer phone can cast to YouTube and Google Play (not Netflix) and the older device can cast to both YouTube and Netflix.

Keith
Thank you for contacting Netflix customer support.
Here is the transcript from your recent chat with customer support:
Netflix Joe
Awesome. Nice to meet you, Keith. How can I help?
You
I cannot get my Android phone to display the Chromecast button
Netflix Joe
Oh no, that definitely doesn't sound liek a fun thing to be dealing with. What kind of phone is it?
You
It is a LG Optimus L9 (P769) running Android Jelly Bean v4.1.2
You
I have the newest Netflix application installed
Netflix Joe
Awesome. Thanks for that info.
Netflix Joe
Just one sec while I dig up some info for us.
Netflix Joe
So Keith, is that chromecast and your phone on the same Network? We've got a troubleshooting article here Click Here for the article but it says the chromecast and the phone have to be on the same wifi network in order to communicate.
You
I also wanted to let you know that I have an older LG phone running an earlier version of Android and it works perfect with Chromecast and Netflix
You
I've read that article already as well
Netflix Joe
OK, cool. Glad to know your older phone is working.
You
The Netflix layout on the two phones is entirely different even though they are both on the same version of the Netflix app.
Netflix Joe
Yeah, the app varies from device to device based on the system specs of the device. It sort of optimizes itself.
Netflix Joe
So the phone and the chromecast are hooked up to the same wifi network?
You
they are on the same network. The phone that doesn't have the Chromecast button for Netflix does have the Chromecast button for both YouTube and Google Play Music
Netflix Joe
Good to know. Just a sec while I reach out to our research team about this.
I got them on the line now.
Netflix Joe
OK, they're asking to uninstall and reinstall the netflix app on the phone that isn't working.
You
about to do that now
Netflix Joe
Great, thanks.
Netflix Joe
Also are you able to download the chromecast app on that phone?
You
app is uninstalled, data and cache is cleared..about to reinstall...chromecast app is installed and operational on the phone
Netflix Joe
Awesome
You
app is reinstalled
Netflix Joe
Sweet, go ahead and try it again.
You
no chromecast button
Netflix Joe
OK, go ahead and go in the netflix app and scroll down to the bottom and get the version please.
You
chromecast app sees the chromecast device
You
2.4.0-216~40 [US/en-US]
Netflix Joe
OK, thanks.
Netflix Joe
And just to make sure, you are checking both the upper and lower right side of the screen for the cast button right? Kind of a silly question I know but just want to cover bases.
You
Yes, I have checked all corners
Netflix Joe
Cool, so they told me that they've seen this issue with a few LG phones and it's something with the phone not being read right by our system so they're looking into it right now to get it fixed and it should be working with your phone in the near future, they just added it to our tracker but the good news is one of your phone still works with the Chromecast right now and soon both will.
You
ok, thanks for letting me know that
Netflix Joe
Sure, no problem. Thanks for reporting the issue with us. Anytime there's a new device like this that comes out it takes a bit to work out the kinks and people like you really help speed that process along.
You
I understand. The device was only made available for sale on Wednesday, and I'm sure that you haven't been able to test every model of phone combined with every version of the OS
Netflix Joe
Yeah, for sure. Well can I help with anything else today Keith? It'd be a pleasure!

Hi you guys..I was having the same problem with a Droid Bionic, and I just wanted to let you guys know, I have a workaround/fix so you can get Chromecast working with the Netflix app working NOW instead of waiting for Netlifx to deal with it.

I have been able to do it if I disable silverlight in chrome (from https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2445334?hl=en)
1.Type chromelugins in the address bar.
2.Find Silverlight:
◦Click Disable to stop the plug-in from running.
◦Click Enable to re-enable the plug-in.
I found that I had to reenable silverlight to get Netflix to work.
As a work around for using Netflix outside of the USA.
I can use Netflix USA very easily on my pc but I haven't figured out how to do it with the chromecast.
I don't have a fancy router and standard vpns don't seem to work.
So maybe if one could cast the Netflix tab on the browser as a "regular" tab, instead of rerouting it to the Netflix app on the chromecast.. Anyone thought of a way to do this?

Yeah it doesn't work, it will redirect it to Netflix app.
If you hit learn more, it will show that it doesn't support plug-ins like silverlight or QuickTime.
Maybe once Netflix switches to html 5

I knew I had done this before so I played it with some. I was able to get video to cast but it wouldn't send audio. I guess when I played with it before I saw the video and went along my way. Maybe use google remote desktop and login to another machine and play netflix while casting the remote tab? Its not perfect and its far from pretty but it works.

Hahahahah well I guess it DOES work, but my wifi is far too slow to handle it properly.
Interesting enough, the cast entire screen feature works okay for me (some lags here and there, could be performance issues because of my low end laptop) , but it's watchable.
If only it had freaking sound.
Oh well the remote desktop app didn't have sound at first either.

Not at the moment as far as I know. Would be a piece of cake if we had Android screen mirroring, but we don't yet.
If you export the PPT or PDF as still images, you can cast those stills from Avia, though you should be mindful of scaling and aspect ratio.
Sounds like it'd be a good app idea though!

For some reason when you do a search for Chromecast in the Play Store it lists Quickoffice among the Apps.
I checked and can find no CCast support in it at all...

LOL! Yeah, a number of false hits for Chromecast searches in Google Play right now... I'm hoping they enhance the on-device Chromecast category or apply some kind of filter qualification so it's easier to determine what third-party apps support Chromecast..
