Hi,
after installing the cm9 nightly 2012/06/29 and had a reboot, the /data folder cannot be mounted anymore.
already tried to install factory-rom with pit-file and re-partition over odin, but the install stops with the error "failed to mount /data".
can anybody help me?
thank you
pehe
Solved:
had to do a full wipe and flash the rom again.

Soft Brick pt7310? can't mount /data - /sdcard , bootloop

hi everybody.
yesterday i have flashed my p7310 from stock honeycomp to cm10.1-experimental.
descriped here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060530
works good, just the strange screen flickering after wakeup from standby.
see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989398&highlight=wakeup
because this I tried to reflash it with GT-P7310_XAR_P7310UELA3.
descriped link above.
now I'm in a bad state.
actually cwm 5.5.0.4 is installed.
if I try to boot my rom it loops at samsung logo.
if I select "wipe data/factory reset" in cwm I get:
-- wiping data...
formatting /data
error mounting /data!
skipping format...
formatting /cache
formatting /sd-ext
formatting /sdcard/.android_secure...
error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
skipping format...
data wipe complete
I have tryed to install stock rom P7310XXLPO_P7310XEULPO_XEU.zip via odin. install works, bootloop
installed ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4.tar via odin. install works
repartitioned via odin (p5_0614.pit) and install stock rom, install works, but still bootloop.
if i connect via adb i can push Clockwork_Recovery_6.0.0.8_GT-P7310.zip to /sdcard, but no access via cwm and "choose zip from sdcard". error: E: can't mount /sdcard/
if i list files via adb shell from /sdcard and /data there are no files.
can somebody help me?
greetz from germany
mitch
one more info.
in adb shell, if i try to mount /data manually, i get following message:
[email protected]:/ # mount /data
mount /data
mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 on /data failed: Invalid argument
i assume that this blk device has no filesystem. but how can i format it manually?
ok... i solved it.
who want's to know how i solved:
i formated /data with ext4 via adb shell.
[email protected]:/system/bin # /system/bin/make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p8
where /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 is my /data (according to the fstab)
after that i was able to mount /data !!!
i flashed cwm 5.5.0.4 again via odin, flashed (odin) stock rom (works now!)
It seems that I have a similar (if not exactly the same problem). Problem is, I'm not exactly tech savvy enough to
understand/execute your solution on my own.

Can you tell us how you go about formatting your SDCARD? I have a similar problem and can't mount E: data/ whenever I try TWRP or CWM recoveries on my p7300. Can you give us step by step or at least a link where to start. Sorry, I am not familiar with ADB.
Thanks for your support with this tab.

You can flash twrp via fastboot, reboot to recovery and do a "backup" of all partitions to sdcard.
once done you'll find a folder called TWRP on your external sdcard, compress and upload to mega website then

@erreira hi
I manage to backup data partition, as I see you have to unmount all partition except external sdcard, so go to Mount and uncheck Cache, Data & system and will done with backup.

it's work only if you unmount everything, this bug is related to FBE encryption I will try to fix it tomorrow.
Hello. I need stock recovery to P9 Lite 2017. Anyone have it?

T813 Failed to mount '/data'. Unable to mount storage

I had problems with my custom ROM (lineage). Could not get rooted. Probably I did something wrong.
What I did:
Went into download mode
-With ODIN flashed latest firmware. No error messages.
-With ODIN flashed latest TWRP 3.1.1
Now Recovery works but when I want to do a factory reset I get "unable to mount storage. Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
When I go to Data, Repair file system it says: Present: Yes, Removable No. Size: 0MB, Used: 0MB, Free: 0MB, Backup Size: 0MB.
Hitting the repair butten gives the same errors.
Anyone suggestions?
Solved
Stupid me. There is a button "fomat data" in TWRP. I missed it. Solution:
Format data
Factory reset
Install Rom,
Install gapps

TWRP Backup Error

Unfortunately I can't get a TWRP (TWRP 3.3.1-1) backup.
I get the following error message:
'/ data' could not be mounted (Invalid argument)
Then I tried to repair the data system - but it didn't work either
-> / sbin / e2fsck -fp / dev / block / mmcblk0p48 process ended with ERROR: 8
I only flashed TWRP and Root yesterday (and did a factory reset and wipe data).
Does anyone have an idea why this might be ??
Regards Klaus

Wrong section to post this.. Anyway, your data partition is encrypted. Wipe your data.
Go to twrp, wipe, format data, type yes, accept. U will lose all your stuff.
There's no other way to fix that, u need to wipe your internal storage.

You wiped the data partition in twrp? U need to wipe it in order to remove the data mounting error.
Also, u can't be restoring data since u can't backup your stuff due to data encryption by Samsung..
