[Q] Back Camera is showing red lines and doesn't take pitures

EDIT: as of cm7 0506 nightly, nearly all camera issues are are resolved. read my post on cm forums for details.
hello everybody,
i seem to have a similar problem as kroat999 posted in this thread, as my back camera is showing a lot of red lines/dashes throughout the viewer area.
also, the pictures take look like this, seems like the file was saved before the camera chip finished capturing.
i'm using cm7-nightly from 03/18 and platypus kernel from 03/22 (from the thread mentioned above). this definitely didn't happen with stock firmware 2 days ago, i haven't tried the cam with the default cm7-kernel.
any ideas or suggestions?
btw: viewer image of the ffc looks ok, but is tilted by 90°.

did this problem with the picture also happen with earlier kernels (from 21st or earlier ?)
the vertical (or horizontal) red lines are a known problem right now
but should only be an aesthetic issue - with the taken picture they're not present anymore
so it's probably an camera overlay or camera driver problem
sorry - I took several pictures and couldn't reproduce your truncated picture
yes, I noticed the 90° (clockwise) rotated picture, too
others get this with bilboa1's kernel also - so it's an upstream problem
you could try one thing:
make a nandroid backup then do a factory reset/wipe and see if that "fixes" it
if not you have a backup to restore
currently I'm out of ideas what might cause this

yes, it was the same with the 03/04 and 03/21 kernel. it's possibly a cm7 problem, but noone else seems to suffer from it...

yes i noticed that. i took a series of 15 shots, 1 was a full pic (without stripes), the rest were truncated, some more, some less.
make a nandroid backup then do a factory reset/wipe and see if that "fixes" it

thanks, i'll try this as soon the battery is fully charged again.

the factory reset didn't solve the problem, i guess i'll try a complete system/data/cache reformat and install the complete platypus-cm7-package.
i'll check back in the evening when i have the time to do this.
btw: i had 2 random reboots with this kernel so far, one during a phone call, the other one while using xda-app.

Make that 3 reboots. Just had one while starting the browser.

sorry for any inconvenience caused:
I just removed the offending unstable kernels & update packages from the list
please install initial + the nightly update directly from Sourceforge
afterwards you can install the kernel from 03/24/2011
that should be stable

I skipped the 'install initial' part, is it important? Running 03/25 Kernel as of now, gonna report back tomorrow after some testing.

after updating to each cm nightly that was available in the meantime, including a full system/data/cache/dalvik format & initial reinstall, the camera problem still persists (running 05/01 version with stock kernel by now).
gonna post it on cm forum, maybe someone there knows how to fix this.

the subject says it all. Anyone able to make a flashable zip of the official ICS lockscreen so that it is useable on the CM10 NIGHTLY that has just been released?

I`m gonna upload it in a few minutes, it`s not force closeing, but there is a bug, so will need to fix that first.

When unlocking, the screen is black and it switches to pin. Most probably some permission problem.

Didn`t managed to solve the blackscreen. You can choose the Face Unlock option. It will detect your face.
Problems after installing this:
-Camera app will dissapear (solved by reinstalling the rom)
-Maybe some google apps will dissapear too (solved by reinstalling gapps, but most probably the face unlock will dissapear)
During script modification, had a problem, that when the wifi is off, when starting camera it says "Can`t connect to the camera", also Face Unlock wont start. When wifi is enabled, then the camera is working fine, but face unlock is force closeing.
Luckily i`ve saved this partially working version. Maybe somebody will manage to make it work completely

NFC not working after update

Basically, what it says. Updated to 4.3 (.266) and now NFC doesn't work.....

Did you try to fix it yourself?
- Resetting the device
- Reflashing the device
- Turn NFC on and test
Because on my XSP it still works with the update only the nfc icon doesnt show up in the status bar...

I don't know if this is the same issue, but i've already made a question on that and i resolved my problem with it :

I've tried yet, but didn't work for me. I really think this app is deleted because it doesn't appear in the settings menu too.

Edit : my problem is solved, just take the NFC app from another rom and copy this with a root file explorer with correct permissions

[Q] Anyone had this problems with CM 9.1.0d ?

I have just installed a new ROM in my Milestone for first time and used CyanogenMod 9.1.0d
Everything looks amazing but I noticed my soft home button doesn't work AT ALL, camera button isn't working either, I cant see the lock screen as other versions, can't open Google Play app and can't synchronize my Google account so I don't have access to my phone contacts
Have someone else happened (and fixed) this problems??

i had every possible rom for this device (910d right now) and never had button problems
did you follow http://www.mrmuh.com/2012/01/update-a-motorola-milestone-from-motorola-firmware-to-cyanogenmod-7/ ?
if not use this guide replace cm7 with cm9.1.0d
100% working

I fixed the problem already but forgot to erase this trend... the problem was after wipe I installed CM9 and Gapps together and got that problem... after wiping all again I installed CM9 rebooted and installed Gapps and worked fine.
Still have no idea what that bug ever happened but i fixed :laugh:
But I changed CM9 to CM7 cause my battery was dropping from 100 to 0 in 4 hours, not good if I'm too much time out of home. Thanks anyway for your interest

Hello, @IGGYVIP I'm having problems with my A853 again, installed the CM7 as always but now i can't get through the MOTOROLA logo... can't make the phone to wake up, and I was looking for the tutorial you mentioned (same I used before) but seems MrMuh's webside is out.
by any case, do you have that tutorial? I wanna start from the ground and reinstall the 2ndboot and the CM7 ... or maybe you have a better solution

edit: i love the customization that i see in the screenshots, i must try this rom
edit2: the rom works really lagged on kate device (also flashed kate firmware)

Agreed, And Almost For Other Stuff, ROM is Working Good....Sound Bug is the only major bug I saw in last 3 hours.
EDIT: After First boot, There is a Lot t of Lag, Reboot It Once---Lags Gone!
