Install Help - [ROM] Evervolv | 6.0.0p1 [AOSP Marshmallow 6.0.1] - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm trying to install the new Marshmallow on my hp touchpad but running into below issue:
I've tried several combination of gapss, rom using Touchpad Toolbox v42 but keep geeting error (Incompatible GAPPS/ROM versions None/6.0)
Here's what I'm trying:
Recovery
2.8.3.0 TWRP recovery with MTP support.
ROM
ev_tenderloin-6.0.1-testing-2016.01.04
ev_tenderloin-6.0.1-nightly-2016.01.03
GAPPS
open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20160106
BaNkS-Dynamic-GApps-6.x.x-10-20-15
I also tried installing without gapp, but TPToolBox gives error saying Gapps file is missing (or found 0 gapp file).
Let me know if there is a combo of known files that works. - Thanks

Try using the gapps-601-base package from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-minimal-gapps-gapps-lp-20150107-1-t2997368
and one of the recoveries listed under "Compatible DataMedia (DM) recoveries" from the TPToolbox thread here:

Wow - Thank you!
That worked.
For anyone else in same situation, following worked for me:
ROM:
ev_tenderloin-6.0.1-nightly-2016.01.03
Recovery:
update-TWRP-jcs-dm-tenderloin-20140612b
GAPPS:
gapps-601-base-20160105-1-signed
Thanks again jcsullins

Same issue not resolved
Hello;
I am using TPToolbox-2015-01-08-v42 to try to install the following.
ROM:
ev_tenderloin-6.0.1-nightly-2016.01.17
Recovery:
update-TWRP-jcs-dm-tenderloin-20140612b
GAPPS:
gapps-601-base-20160105-1-signed
I keep getting an error that says that gapps-601-base-20160105-1-signed appears to be corrupt and the installation aborts. I have tried several times to re-download this file, I ave tried several times to wipe the data and start fully clean but still it shows the GAPPS file as corrupt. Any ideas?
Thanks

looks like the only difference from what I used is the ROM version.
I guess you can try the same Rom that I did and then later update to another nightly.
Others may have better ideas.

You can do several things:
If your adb is working, i think you can push latest cwm to recovery partition. Find dexters topic on how to do it, but instead of 6.0.2.8, download latest from cwm website and push it.
Alternatively, download zaiben rom, put it on sdcard ext and flash it, then use rom manager etc.
Another thing you can do is search for topic "fixed cm flashable", and flash that cm, then update to latest.
There is one more way, you can edit cm's zip and delete lines checking for device id.
Good luck

Just tried it with linux and adb doesn't recognize it. I currently don't have anything for android on windows, so not sure if it's a driver issue or with twrp. I'll try on windows later and get back with you.
edit: Do you think this would work? Reversing the secondary_storage points in ramdisk does not mount sdcard1 in twrp. I have to compile twrp with them bound in the original order for it to mount sdcard1.

I don't think the mount points are related to my TWRP adb problem. Phone just doesn't show up at all for me in "adb devices" when booted to TWRP. Does it show up there for you?
And don't go to any trouble with Windows on my account -- this laptop runs Ubuntu Saucy 99% of the time, and only boots to Windows on rare occasions.

Will this work for the SGH-T759?
How do I get this on my device if so? I've rooted, custom recovery and flashed countless roms on many devices but this one has me stuck. Keep finding what I think is for the t759 but then all this t679 stuff pops up.
Any help would be great! Thank you!

Thanks for the quick response! The link kept giving me a spam redirect like 20 times...then it finally worked.
Tried the newest build from OP. Mounting usb storage didn't quite work. Plus while trying to install a ROM I got the same mount error mentioned by someone in the CM11 thread. Went back to the 27-Dec build of TWRP (I think-- downloaded it when it was still in the CM11 thread) and the same ROM installed without issues.

Internal and external storage mount on this device in recovery with win 8.1 quickly. Latest twrp installs rom's fine as well on mine.
Edit: Just to be sure, again, I wiped everything in twrp and installed 1/31 without any issues in less than 3 minutes.

I hope you'll forgive me if I don't find "it works for me" to be a convincing argument, based on the /data-and-kernel-related issues in your CM11 thread that affected some people's devices and not others.
But the good news is, now that your CM11 includes a kernel more friendly to the other set of devices, rebuilding TWRP seems to have included that kernel too. In other words, your 2630e build installed the 0220 CM11 build for me without complaining about the /data partition... and the 0220 ROM also booted without complaints. Thanks for keeping at it.
USB mount and adb are still not working for me with Ubuntu 13.10. But I can live without them, though they are nice to have.

[Q] Compatible Recovery, Rom and apps file to use with toolkit?

I am running toolkit and trying to install android on my hp touchpad. Every time I get to install I get an error message about incompatible apps file, or if I find right one, then I get incompatible recovery file and install aborts. Can someone please give me a combination of the three files that will work together along with links to download? I just want a stable android version and don't care about the latest, etc. Thank you!
I do understand there are some naming considerations that can make the install difficult.
This is what worked for me without any problems:
update-TWRP-jcs-dm-tenderloin-20140512.zip: This is the recovery file from Jcsullins.
cm-11-20140409-SNAPSHOT-jcsullins-tenderloin.zip: This is CM11 by jcsullins.
pa_gapps-modular-mini-4.4.2-20140608-signed.zip: gapps files that work.
Go to the Touchpad developer section for the links to thes files.

[Q] help on CM11 EMMC install

I am trying to install CM11 EMMC to my nook HD+ with stock rom on it. The instruction I followed is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600572
1.Download the initial sdcard image
2.ungzip and write to sdcard using dd (winimage or whatever for those stuck on Windows)
3.Instert the card into your nook and reboot
4.Flash the recovery image
5.Flash cm11 image
6.Flash whatever other extra things you need like gapps
7.remove the sdcard
8.reboot the nook
I did wipe data and cache after step 3. I finished steps 4 and 5. However, flashing gapps in step 6 failed with information of error in gapps zip file [status 6]. The gapps is downloaded from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
I use the mini modular package. I am quite sure the gapps zip file is good since i have finished SD install with the gapps zip file. However, it failed in EMMC install. Now the nook can boot to CM11, but without any google stuff.
Any suggestion?
I'd suggest that you try a different, smaller size package (you can always add those apps not included later from the Playstore).
Also, if needed an alternate source for Gapss is http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps, use the "small" version.
Thanks for the suggestion. Other gapps on http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2397942 does not work. The gapps on the wiki page works, though it is for 4.4.2. I think the orginal thread on CM11 EMMC install should notice users on the possible problem.

I'm a total newbie to this but I think I have the same issue.... This is what I done and the results:
Used Win32imager onto 32gb Sandisk to write unpacked image of emmc-cwm-early3.1.img.gz then loaded onto card the following files:
cm-11-20141212-NIGHTLY-ovation.zip
cwm-recovery-ovation-6.zip
pa_gapps-stock-4.4.4-20141214-signed.zip
pa_gapps-modular-mini-4.4.4-20141214-signed.zip
Re-booted and did backup of stock and cleared/formatted internal card. Installed cwmrecovery images, and CM11 nightly. Tried installing to gapps stock and mini both came up with a Status 6 failed installation error .
Tried reverting to stock and couldn't recover due to error so re-installed CM and had same error. Copied off and removed restore apks to ensure enough space and tried again - still
status 6 error.
Checked to see whether script files has LF/CR but script file is dummy and the binary all seems to be in LF format. Running out of ideas as all of this is new to me.
So looks like i'm in same situation - HD+ which boots to CM but no stock googleapps.
I know it doesn't help but looks like same issue - any ideas?

Did you try using the Gapps packages from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps? They are for CM11, the apps are a bit dated but after installation can be updated (via Google Playstore) to their most current version.

Deleted the pa_gapps-stock-4.4.4-20141214-signed.zip file.
Downloaded the two files from your link:
gapps-kk-20140606-signed.zip
gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip
dropped both onto the card, re-booted and installed the larger 20140606 version which installed without any error messages. Removed card and re-booted - extra apps all look in place. Will now make sure they all run OK.
Thanks very much for your help - much appreciated. Can you tell me what the difference is in the installers that make the PA versions crash or is that too long winded?

Did you perform a „factory reset” wipe? Changing ROMs kind of requires you to - a factory reset wipes the old sd-ext, and you still have it.
And are you sure you downloaded the right ROM? I can't access the RR site now, but they don't have ROMs for Thea.
What phone do you have, actually?

I have xt1045 4g
I've done all the procedures to install the rom .
but gave those mistakes.
try putting on a rom 5.1 stock xt1045 according to what I found here on xda but I do not install it .
the phone did not stay at the logo and not as most do.
Then you need to flash this ROM: CM Peregrine
Or this one: RR Peregrine
See the ROM's discussion thread here.
